Bulma framework, thanks for existing!
Lightweight, CSS only, very fucking easy to use and understand and a beautiful!
As a backend/server/security guy, front end is hell on earth for me. I understand the basics but that's it.
This fucker makes it so simple!19 -
Manager: How come the intern does way more tickets than you?
Dev: Because you told me to only give him the easy ones since he either can’t do them otherwise or takes too long on the hard ones
Manager: Well how is he going to learn if we only give him easy ones?
Dev: That’s what I told you when you orig—
Manager: Assign him ALL of the hard tickets on your board immediately!
*Tickets closed per day drops significantly*
Manager: WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG ON THESE TICKETS!!!!!
Dev: …19 -
PHP 🐘 is so damn easy to learn, run straighforward in all OSs, that anyone can start coding in no time. Therefore, the amount of crap code around, made by unskilled devs, is just *unbelievable*. 💩18

SSH'd into all the computers in college's lab and edited the bashrc to display "YOU ARE BEING WATCHED / YOU'VE BEEN HACKED" etc.
Everyone freaked out instantly.
Then edited my own bashrc file too so that no one realizes it's me.
I was surprised at how easy it was.8 -
Regular day at Adobe:
Intern: Sir, I have created this amazing functionality that will make user's life easy. Shall I push it for review?
Manager: Did you say it will make their life easy?
Intern: Yes Sir!
Manager: Can we fire this intern already?
Adobe, seriously man make up your goddamn mind. Why the fuck are you taking away useful features and making them hidden under hundreds of icons you have. This is so fraustrating 😡7 -
Friend: Your job is so easy. I just made a website in 15 mins.
Me: oh ok. Show me.
Friend: mynewwebsite.blogspot.com
Me: (facepalm)3 -
There's one kind of ticket I fucking love. Wait, YOU LOVE TICKETS?! No, except for one.
Tickets where people ask us to restore backups.
Why do I love them?
Because the only fucking thing I need to do is reply with a link to a helpdesk item on our website because backups aren't something within our support range because it's easy for customers to do.
So whenever a ticket about restoring a backup comes in, it's as easy as opening the ticket, pasting the link with "I'd like to refer you to the following resource: " and pressing fucking "reply"
😄15 -
Python is so ridiculously easy and fast to write, I'm just waiting for the release where you just say:
def main():
make_program("RegExParser", "fast", "fancy")
And that's it...15 -
The day i found out how GitHub and Git actually work and how easy it is to manage versions rather than having a zip archive in Dropbox. I grew up so fast...T_T1
-
Instagram coding pics are so fucking cringe worthy....like for real man. A picture of a simple cpp loop, or averyfuckingbasic Express hello world in some hipster filter with inspirational quotes and everyone looses their shit for it.
Instagram people are so easy.11 -
Today when showing a game that I made:
X: So you used Unity, it's so easy
Me: Yeah I mean compared to....
X: Thus since you used a game engine, I can't say your game was completly developed by you.
Me: So you are saying that since a builder didn't make bricks thus he can't claim credits on the building he made?13 -
Whoever thinks that coding is easy.
Fuck you motherfucker stupid chicken head nugget sized brain faggots. You think all we do is smash keyboards in front of our screen and it poops code and creates beautiful applications? Fuck you in particular.
One of my friend says sitting on computer for whole day is the easiest thing. What the fuck motherfucker.
One fucking string can fuck your life forever. Innumerable hours will be wasted behind one simple fucked up logic. And u shithead say its easy.
Get into my shoes and let me bang your head on the keyboard and we will see how beautifully it poops code.
Stupid people.14 -
“Can’t you just open up my iPhone right now and check what’s wrong with it??”
My response: “See, you already know what to do! Since it’s so easy, why don’t you just do it yourself?” -
So I tweet that I'm about to upgrade El Capitan to Sierra. I get a reply that with a good cup of ☕️ it's an easy exercise.
I reply "Coffee? I was hoping for something stronger", to which I get a reply: "You're not upgrading Windows". 😂5 -
me in life: if its too delicious so its unhealthy.
me on code: if it's too easy so it's probably wrong3 -
Just my $.02:
One thing I think a lot of students/schools miss when learning/teaching, is that your code has to be *maintainable*. Your code is (hopefully) going to be used for a long time, so program it to make it not only easy to upgrade and maintain, but easy for SOMEONE ELSE to upgrade and maintain, too.
The best code to work with is the stuff that's been coded with maintainability in mind.14 -
It's crazy to me how much of a misguided superiority complex some CS college kids have.
"I'd never learn Python, that's just for kids"
"Front end is so easy, it's just HTML and making things look pretty"9 -
ok im seriously feeling evil.
windows users listen up:
is there any way i can make it so that when you press the semicolon button, the greek question mark comes up?
preferable an easy setting.
as you can tell, i really want to get this guy.13 -
So python, who knew it could automate a lot of crappy tasks 😎
Actually I did, but god it’s so quick and easy to implement than expected.
I have a new formed respect for python devs after my day of web crawling and ftp transfers and outlook mining 😘7 -
"Whenever a user creates their account, they get an email with their password. We also get a copy of said email which makes it easy to troubleshoot any issues when they ring us." -- I was so tempted to hand in my resignation on the spot...7
-
I love Json format. It is so simple, powerful, easy to read and all that good stuffs. There is only one thing I wish Json could support, that's commenting.13
-
DigitalOcean
My god, it's so easy and simple to spin up a server for a few minutes without being stuck with a contract of a year. Also, being able to manage all my domains there is a blessing :D4 -
When I discovered Clean Code, design patterns, TDD and BDD. It just clicked. Ever since everything build so easy and obviously. I no longer have most of the code problems folks rant here about.
That's when it came to me: it's not enough to know how to write code. To climb off those amateur shoes I must adopt those methodologies, so that the code would be decoupled from me, from my style, and I've got to let tests drive my code rather than vice versa to have a flexible and reliable codebase that is cheap and easy to maintain/extend.40 -
so i posted this image on my facebook wall(my business depends on facebook) and my father commented, check 1000 times then 😐
i wish i could say, it is not that easy, but i feel it is better not to say anything then explain the complexity of programming 😢3 -
"I decided to write the core software for my Time Machine in Java. It's Date API is so error free and easy to use."
As the legend goes, the scientist is trapped in another dimension between Timezones.
#thanksjava4 -
Starting a third year computer science course. Lesson 1 of web API production. Git. Lecturer tells us to do a different branch for every commit so it's easy to roll back.
Nice.8 -
I've been trying out no-code solutions for a while and I have found some awesome products out there that are super easy to setup and get running, but fuck me, I never thought I would find something so magnificent, so well planned and executed and fits into a tiny package.
No bloatware, no package dependencies, no nothing.
https://github.com/kelseyhightower/...9 -
WTF! So much struggle to set an avatar? I thought that's the most easy thing to do in profile creation...!!!
@devrant, see I have started already...😁😁😁8 -
Discovered that its possible to bookmark places in code for easy access.
My whole life has been a lie so far.13 -
omg apple does not like to make things easy! Trying to set up developer accounts for a company but a company can't be an agent? a team member who isn't an agent can't create certificates or keys?
Android development seems so easy and nice now6 -
Have you ever been so alone on a project that even if everything seems easy, you don't want to work on it because nobody cares about it?1
-
Quote dumbledore: "Soon we all have to choose between what is right and what is easy"
So very true in programming aswell :p -
In memory of the giant of engineering that was Larry Tesler, today I will be coding solely by copying and pasting. Thanks for making my life so easy, Larry. RIP.4
-
So I would really like to see a devrant like app where devs can share design ideas for problems that are greater than a function call, or topical questions found on stack overflow.
As I have gotten older, I have realized that actual implementation is typically easy, the design approach is typically harder to get right from the first go, so open critique can be very useful.6 -
so im deciding to byte the bullet and roll down the angular road.
install node they say, its quick and easy they say... 1 hour later after
./configure
make
im starting to wonder if i made the right decision.10 -
I'm someone who' s productive so I get things done earlier than expected, so then I get time to rest. However, when the managers see me resting, they always think that I'm "not doing my job" or "idle" or "doing nothing" so they always ask me "what are you doing?" or "you've got things to do?".
From now on I will just pretend that every f*cking easy task is worth 1 week to do.15 -
Co-worker - "We need to have this added just like this, you should be able to do that right, it looks easy"
Me - "HA we'd have to redesign the whole architecture to make that work, and you still can't even figure out how to take a screenshot after I've showed you 20 times, so maybe don't tell me how easy something does or doesn't look"3 -
I found out that not many people know Floating for YouTube extension
I personally use it to watch confs when i am doing easy stuff
Help me stay up to date ( it's distracting so i turn it off when i have to concentrate)
Hope it helps someone!8 -
Aye so i got a new job, and its android. I thought "yeah sure, ive been a java dev my whole life, it will be easy".
And it is easy.
But its like a fleshed out java, with a trillion built in classes and xml (seroiusly, fuck xml), and also the studio eats away my ram.5 -
Fukken School project
I spent days writing good documentation with step-by-step tutorials. I broke the project down into small, simple tasks.
Trying so hard to make everyone’s job easy.
And they still fail.
Give me a cookie2 -
I already told you that my boss is not a developer. So, when he tells me "that should be easy to code" I always get a little nervous.2
-
I like PHP.
It's not as bad as its reputation. Just because it's easy to learn, does not mean it's bad. In fact, with a framework like Laravel or Zend it's not so simple and keeps the whole spaghetti code developers away, which led to the bad reputation.9 -
I hate those movies/tv series in programmer just tap on some keys and says it's done. this makes programming/coding looks so easy.
FUCK YOU MAN ITS NOT EASYYYY4 -
Big title games
Console to Mobile: redesign the game to make it easy to play
Console to PC: just port the game, keep the console keys but remap them... randomly so it makes no logical sense and is impossible to remember or easy to press when needed (at least to me)
I guess ditching games on PC years ago was the right move but now I have A way overpowered computer... (Gonna take a while to get around to that ML stuff I had planned... Prolly taking a React/Native die first and maybe do some also for interviewing)8 -
Successfully duel booted windows and elementary os. 😌😌
Installed elementary tweaks, osx darker theme numix circle icons.
Installed vs code. 😋😋
Life was never so easy.
I love elementary os. 😍😍😍
Elementary forever.🤘7 -
My employer thinks their Wordpress site is great because it's so easy to find a Wordpress "developer". That's like commissioning artwork patched together from colouring books because it's easy to find someone who can use crayons.
-
Metaprogramming maybe easy to write but is so fucking hard to read and harder to maintain. Why do people even like these dynamic languages anyway :-/
*a very loud and miserable groan which may be cry for help*
I hate my life right now.5 -
I'm now trying to learn Java for 1,5 years last weekend I started to learn python, this was so easy 😅9
-
Wrote a feature that took a week plus to complete that was reviewed, approved, merged and already in production.
Guy who approved comes in and says to make changes now with 1 day to end of sprint saying to refactor stuff. It won't make a difference other than some logging changes but I found the effort to be large plus the QA would need to retest everything.
When I brought up my concern, he tells me it is very easy and to get it done.
Now am feeling so stuck rushing on this work cos he called it 'easy' and I don't want to look like a fool...
Why review and approve code only to come back last minute asking for changes.. Not the first time and always last minute followed by calling it easy. I am almost forming a phobia to merge approved code..4 -
The job I am interning at wants to hire me. Yay.
But they want to start me at basic programmer salary, which makes me feel really sad about doing another 1.5 years of specialisation education.
Just to get hired at the salary of what I could have started at 1.5 years ago.
They even keep talking about how competent I am, and how easy it has been implementing me.
I studied to specialise so it would be easy.
Fucking pay the convenience fee.7 -
@dfox the reply and modify buttons on the last comment in a rant on iphone6 is very close to the social media icons and comment button.
So close that its easy to hit the wrong one. A little extra padding in the bottom so that you can scroll half a centimeter more would help a lot.3 -
Hey so found another tiny bug, well more like a typo, if you're a subscriber and you go to edit a post more than it's time limit in this after 57 mins you get the old can't edit after 5 minutes alert dialog message, super easy to fix (I guess lol) and not too important12
-
Thanks Firebase! I dont have to buy a 5$ server and install php mysql etc.. anymore. It is super easy create something for one-page one-day side projects! I am so happy..2
-
- I am leaving the company, so you will work on my project.
- (looks at code) But there is no single doc string or any documentation apart from the installation guide.
- Yes, but the project is really easy to understand.
... I will just sit here trying to understand your code instead of doing actual work. -
One time I was assigned a task during a standup, it was a very easy one so I sent in a PR before the call was over.
Very huge mistake!
I got assigned 5 additional tasks on same call and few more before the meeting was over.
Ain't that a bitch?3 -
bro just learn C bro I promise it's all smooth sailing bro haha lol just take up HTML with CSS bro its a piece of cake bro what bro lol just start coding up differential equations with numpy library haha its so simple bro just start with Ruby bro it will take only couple days bro what lol bro take this aeronautical course on how to code an airplane simulation bro its so simple bro just start algorithms on cryptography bro its so easy i cant bro just start writing drivers for printers bro haha lol just start writing a bootloader for a new Linux distro bro lol haha easy bro just make a billion dollar company bro haha its so simple.
keep going bro haha invent your own JS framework over a billion existing ones haha bro typescript is so easy bro lol what u say take up redis bro go from the first command bro learn mongodb and mysql together bro its so simple.
but bro don't try to master JS bro .. u will regret it forever bro.6 -
Not really a bug so much as ridiculously poor practice, about 15 years ago I was working for a car park company on their booking engine. In the sql server dB, there was a table called CreditCard, easy to guess what was in there!1
-
Yesterday was the day. I got asked. Asked, if I could hack back someone's "hacked" Instagram account. For the first time.
He's probably one of those dudes who use short and easy passwords, so his password was just guessed. -
I need to do codereviews at work...
Everytime i get c# code im just happy, it's beautiful to look at, easy to follow, new language features every couple of months or so...
And then I get Java/Android Code.... 😩☠🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️.
(I mainly code in C++)3 -
I had a standing ovation at my first talk at a conference. I was so nervous at first and then it was easy afterwards. I wonder if I should do more talks. Anyone have any experience doing this that can give some advice?9
-
God damn I had a nice dream last night... Linux had a 100% OS market share.. and there was only one package manager and only one build system.. There was no such thing as cross platform, because there was only one platform. Everything was so easy.
Then I woke up. Fuck.4 -
So I'm planning on ditching Google Play Store. Last step in my anti-Google action (apart from completely cleaning my old Gmail accounts)! I'm barely using it anymore anyways.
Only thing is, I need to find an alternative market. Not an easy journey :)7 -
Why do so many beginners gave this retarded notion that freelancing is easy? Little shits really expect to read one HTML tutorial and start making money off the internet?7
-
You never realise how easy development is for Linux till you actually use a CLI compiler and do anything native or is development related...
Really makes you wonder why Mac and windows are so locked down yet claim they are a great development platform...2 -
!rant
Flutter is the best SDK I've ever used in my life. So insanely easy to learn and use, and it lets you build both Android and iOS apps?!?!
If you haven't checked it out, even if you've never touched mobile app dev, give it a shot. Super fun and super easy.13 -
Is it bad that I'm excited about going back to work from tomorrow?
Like, I haven't even done jackshit throughout the break, and so it won't be easy jumping back in with both feet.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯7 -
Before I decided to learn C, I had heard tell of pointers being "hard to use". Of course I thought "maybe so, " after all, that was basically the only thing I heard about pointers, "they are hard!".
And so, when I learned C, and I got to the part about pointers, I was expecting at least some trouble (I can't know everything) and it was just... easy? Maybe the trickiest thing was how * has two different meanings based on the context (declare/dereference) but that was easy too.
Why the hell is all I hear from people about pointers is that they're difficult?15 -
Someone is whining about how hard Git is in an article they wrote. They work for GitHub. The article was posted to HN.
Yes, let's make things so easy a literal baby can do it.16 -
I remember the first time our class coded a simple program in C. The objective was to input two random numbers, check which one is larger, and output it on the screen.
After class, I asked one of my classmates if he finds the test easy. My classmate replied that it was so easy he got bored. Then when I asked him to show me his code, this was what I saw:
int a, b;
printf("Enter smaller number: ");
scanf("%i", &a);
printf("Enter larger number: ");
scanf("%i", &b);
printf("Larger number: %i\n", b);1 -
Four beers with an expiry date of 2022. What do you do? Easy, drink three so you don't care about the expiry date of the fourth and enjoy.
Didn't tag it as joke because it's seriously what I just did12 -
Fucking YouTube adverts on chromecast. Every time 55 seconds required to watch and THEN it starts another 55 optional seconds. I'm happy to have a remote so you can skip easy but they know you're sitting comfortable in front of your TV so they keep pushing ads. It's unethical. Torture, before I didn't mind so much, before the 55 seconds shit what was pretty rare before45
-
programming is not a piece of cake that you come and eat.
friend of mine thinks programming is so simple.
fuck you who think its easy it takes hours of dedication6 -
Working on a database where every column name are acronyms. No, the 2-5 seconds you just saved yourself from typing are not worth it, it’s so easy to make a self-documenting database but you had to fuck that up.1
-
Got myself into Facebook's Graph-API...
...everything is so easy and well optimized.
NOT! Now I have to optimize the request to reduce loadtime. Why is there data so fractured? -
Importing modules in python is the biggest shit i have done in my life. ALWAYS SOMETHING IS NOT FOUND. I have no fuckin clue who came up with this shit. I fuckin hate python for that so so much
EASY LANGUAGE GO TO HELL14 -
It's a constant battle of getting the code finished, and having it look readable. It's so easy to fall into the downward spiral of bad coding.
-
I'm not a web dev but I am pretty sure it is not so easy!
TNW just lost it's respect from me for this click bait!3 -
Hacking in mivies are so damn cool and easy!
The main character never gets caught and everything goes as expected.
Hacking in reality is no way like that 😬7 -
OH MY GOD DOCKER I JUST WANT NODE TO CONNECT TO THE DAMN MYSQL CONTAINER!
its probably easy but jesus there is so much weird documentation to go through and hope something works...14 -
There is a constructed language called Tokipona. It was made to be the easiest language, and it only contains like 137 words or so.
This language is a perfect demonstration of “expressivity”. Tokipona is not very expressive. Before you know it, your sentence is obscenely long, and you didn't even convey the full meaning of what you wanted to say.
It's also the case with “easy” programming languages and frameworks. Code quantities rise exponentially, and the more code you have, the more bugs there are. There is no magic. And then you have to debug it. Not so easy, huh?9 -
Why people are saying Python is an easy language? I mean yes, if you write c/java code with python it may seem easy, but writing proper python code, in a pythonic way is not so easy.
SO DON'T TELL PEOPLE THAT'S IT EASY LANGUAGE because new commers later they come with absurd code and ask people to fix it.7 -
When you actually think about it, the Lazarus IDE for the Free Pascal compiler has the coolest name.
Them: what are you working on?
Me: **looks at screen and whispers** Lazarus......
I have been fucking around with Pascal more since I started to remember my Delphi days. Shit is tight af man.
I think I will try and build a site around it. Something sexy and modern to make this tech stack more l
Known to people. So far I have been having a blast playing with it.
Such an easy and powerful environment. And the syntax is so easy to learn.13 -
I hate Xcode so fricking much!
I hate Macs in general, and trying to export for iOS.
So convoluted, counter-intuitive.
And cocoapods? WTF are they?!
Visual Studio, Android Studio + Flutter is so easy: "flutter build" ....done!
But YOU, you fucking xcode peice of wank....are summink ELSE!15 -
In less than 24 hours, I will be giving my last exam and getting a degree in Information Systems Engineering
The exam should be easy, but I am so afraid that I am having a hard time to study (And I also find the topics reaaaally boring, such as ethics, and law)
Send good vibes so I can finally (After almost 10 years) finish my studies and be an engineer4 -
Coming up with a really cool inventive way to fix something that didn't look possible...... but no one will know cause you made it look so easy and no one actually understands your job. It's fine.3
-
Feels like I'm battling anxiety lately. Always tons of projects to work on and they seem so easy, but getting round to them feels harder and harder. Anyone else have this issue? How do you deal with it. Cigar seems to have helped today...3
-
Management: "You are the DBA and BI head right?"
Me: "yes..."
Management: "Awesome, so that means you can develop a quick software for me to use? It's really easy!"
Me: "Awesome, here are two options since its easy, you go make it yourself or..."
Management: "Is that sarcasm?"
Me: "...or you can ask the accountant to make it"
IT Director: "you deserved that bob." -
Anyone else fucking pissed off by all the shit saying "Learn to Code in 21 Days".
You don't see anyone trying to become a doctor in 21 days so why the fuck do people think our work is so easy that any fucking asshole can do it in 21 days.
Fuck this whole fucking stupid world...23 -
Well I wish I could abandon jQuery and bootstrap all together and just use some vuejs admin template with my Laravel app. But things are not that easy and I am a lvl 1.0 vuejs user.
So sorry V girl, you gotta learn how to live with Mr.J for a few more months.4 -
Why the FUCK are my project ideas so easy to implement. I wanted to make a static site sharing webpage (imagine github pages), and i fucking made it in 2 hours?????? Fuck me, does anyone know something like codewars or something but with project ideas instead of algorithms?4
-
I just pulled an all-nighter to write an usability testing protocol in Microsoft Word for a medical mobile app.
- statement of consent and privacy declaration; easy: 1 hour
- structuring the protocol and writing the different use cases; easy: 1-2 hours
- layouting the document so the tables don't look like utter shit and adding dotted lines into the columns so the user can write in it without fucking up the whole document when resizing a simple column width; a fucking nightmare: 5 hours
Why is the creation of a nice layout so inefficient to the point where I'd rather design a form in CSS and send it to my printer, get your shit together!3 -
With all of them going gaga about Dark Mode everywhere, is there anyone else at all who thinks light mode is so much more easy on the eyes during the day alone at least?34
-
So I decided to start using NoScript in Firefox recently, and it's been the most wonderful and annoying experience.
Wonderful - Easy to use whitelist on a domain basis makes it easy to un-break websites I trust while keeping potential malicious JS from other domains out.'
Annoying - Now I get why all the graybeards on Hacker News hate what the modern web has become6 -
Why do people think that programming is easy? Like creating a website with everything seems to be so easy for people without knowledge...7
-
The whole CSS "centering" thing is so funny because that problem is easy per se but it can pop up in ways you've never seen before and you have to learn how to center your stuff for 9832 different situations5
-
Working on a project with tests is so nice.
I love tests. Well, I hate making them, but now refactoring is so easy :] -
Slack’s “Huddle” is beautiful. A game changer. It is just so easy to enter and exit a call now.
Good work, Slack!11 -
I am watching Amazon prime Mr. robot and WTF hacking is so easy you just need to be alone and yeah morphine :P9
-
Why python can't into proper dependency management?
I Node.js we use npm. Modules are downloaded per project and packaging is easy.
In Java we use maven/gradle. Never been so easy to build and download libraries and package your project.
But in Python? No, it's not easy. You have to use virtualenv first so pip/anaconda won't download globally, then you must write setyp.py in a million different ways. Packaging and distribution to clients? Good luck with that.21 -
So I started to write a small script that my boss asked me to do.
I thought I will be able to do the job simple in just one file.
after 5 days, mostly researching and writing like 10 important functions I gave up the idea of being easy and I configured it as a project.
Feels so smooth now.1 -
I like PHP but every new tech is about all the other languages ! Recently i was searching for microservice architecture and oh it's so easy with nodejs ! It's ready made for Go ! Java has a library build in ! What about Symfony ? Laravel ?18
-
Rant!
Others: hey, can you do this?... //details scrapped
Me: (after thinking a while) yes.
Others: Perfect! Can it be done like 2 days ago?
My mental image: throws my laptop to he/her face while shouting if it's so easy you should fucking do it!1 -
Guys...
I finally switched from eclipse to netbeans! *hurray*
But it was not easy...
Netbeans didnt want to import first, so i coded myself a little program that prints a complete config file for my project...
So that was done.
But the colors... So ugly.
So i changed them to my eclipse colors.
Finally, after 3 hours of configuration and getting to know how exporting works, I AM DONE!

How to fuck a web developer:
1- Introduce a shiny new shitty web component that is nearly impossible to figure out how to change it’s fucking background color, yeah.
Welcome everyone to 2019 why even it was so easy to change and customize your own shit, let’s just introduce thaaa faaacking web components and fuck everyone else. Let everyone learn again how to do the simplest shit ever.
Yes fuck everyone that is used to change and customize in an easy way.
“yUo wAnT uS nOt tO UsE SoC anD cLEan koOde?”
No no no. We will fuck you instead.2 -
So Is it just me thinking that no one would pay for my work (web dev, IT stuff etc...), because it is so easy to build a website for example. I'm kinda beginner, what's your opinion on wordpress? But mybe I'm just rushing things, we want to build a webdev business with my friends and I'd like to hear some idea/experience from you guys :)6
-
So, I finally decided to figure out how to fucking close vim! Surprisingly, there is a super easy way to rem...[read more]3

I just hate this life so damn much, 14 and depressed with possible anxiety and suicidal attempts is not easy. My parents are the worst. MY brother sucks. I wanna die.7
-
I find it odd that so many people find CS easy and spend so much time outside while still scoring well. I struggled a lot in my first and second years and finally adjusted to the amount of studying I needed to do in the third, and finally performed well.
I'd like to ask, do most CS people find their bachelor degrees very easy?11 -
I hate iOS so much. Just hit a nasty bug where "optimizer" in browser sometimes randomly replaces a function with a number. Like WTF? Was developing a webpage working on iOS too easy, so they enabled a hard mode where some of your functions may turn on you?1
-
We are currently learning SQL with MSAccess (it's much too easy haha) at school... our teacher doesnt even know how to set primary key, so he asked us and we all knew it already😂
To understand that joke: we are 14-15 years old -
God why is it so hard to let go with people around, especially potential friends or partners... It could be so easy to just have fun and do the things you always think about, but then you mess it up and that somehow.. purposely.3
-
So easy to make typographic attacks on image recognition models.
Depending on your implementation, you may need to change your entire model.
FML.2 -
So what do you all believe the best first language is and why? I personally say Python or JavaScript because they are simple, and easy to understand8
-

Just published my first internal app, which is nice
We’ve also now started using GitLab, so I need to work out an easy way for use to transfer all of the reports from SourceSafe.
There’s only about 500+ of them, should be fun2 -
Started to learn java! Loving it so far.. Coming from Python 3 i thought this was not gonna be easy but so far so good.. Can someone give me some advice or tips on what to tackle next after java?17

GraphQL and RestAPI are so different and GraphQL is too easy.

Hey guys! Finally decided to jump on board! This is my first rant so go easy.
Working on a project were some freedom of choice is allowed and thinking about using polymer to create a wordpress theme... Is this a good idea or a terrible one?

People rant about missing semicolon which can be easily solved by switching to a better IDE. And here I am working on a language in which statement terminates with Dot(.) Which is so easy to miss. And worst part is that I can't change IDE.1

I'm so done with auth
it's more than a nightmare
it's a disgrace
why can't someone just be like "you know how auth and identity is hard? why don't we make it easy?"
I would pay so much for that9 -

I love the people on github who puts one line text and a gif of their project. So easy to understand and not having to read some large text. Keep up the good work people.2 -

The mass surveillance thingy in the Netherlands is not something I want to do with, so I'm thinking of moving my droplets to London as I heard Germany might also implement something similar. I have two DO droplets that are relatively easy to transfer but I'm open to suggestions, should I move them?7

Feels crazy, but just for rid of my second monitor. So much easier to stay focused now. It's just way to easy to have Youtube running on the other screen.4

Urghhhhh I don't want to study anymore 😭😭😭
Mind you, me getting residency permit depends on this exam. And everyone keeps telling me it's easy, but I'm still stuck and my brain draws blanks so often. 😭😭😭12 -
Just set up my Raspi with pihole, damn it’s so easy and super efficient. Sites now load so much faster 🦍1

Co-workers with low commitment to a project are the worst to have. I am willing to trade technical depth for commitment in a team member any fucking day! Tech is easy to learn, work ethics not so much!3

BACKLOG REFINEMENT
TeamLeader2: why did you rate this task so high? It should be easy enough
TeamLeader1: you guys have never worked with Angular. We have just started using it seriously and it's really complicated, I know it looks easy from the outside but trust me this whole framework requires a lot of work even for trivial tasks
What's that I hear in the distance? A phone ringing? Someone better pick that up, because I FUCKING CALLED IT

Can we build a simple Ai for the app so reposts don't happen like a 🤔 are you sure you want to post this, it was already posted
It's easy with text but not with images you'd only need AI for the gifs2 -
Apparently if you go to an interview desperately filled with hope, your eyes and body language will rat you out and people won't want to hire you. Ok, so they want to hire someone who's not desperate for a job? That's not easy to hide..8

So last night I ran out of space on my root partition, apparently 30GB isn't enough for `/` besides `/home` and `/data` because both `/var` and `/usr` used around 14GB each so I decided to create partitions for them, had 500GB unallocated disk space on my SSD for if I wanted to install windows on my machine besides Arch Linux.
I edited the fstab file and sure enough, the partitions were mounted on boot, everything went fine. Then U realised the data wasn't actually removed from the first partition so I decided to mount the drive again and remove the files, the system still worked fine.
Untill I rebooted. Apparently the bit scripts require files in the`/usr` folder which wasn't mounted at boot, but right after. F*ck, system won't boot and now I'm in a recovery shell in busybox. After googling and reading the arch wiki I noticed a small message saying what you should do if you want to have `/usr` on another partition. I didn't do any of that.
After a couple of hours and a lot of reboots and chroots from a live USB to the broken installation it was fixed without losing any data! I did learn to read the manual or wiki to see any specifics when using more partitions. 😂2 -

Can someone help me?
I want to program games, (2d & 3d) I have made games in clickteam and RPG Maker, but I want to program them. My biggest issue is my hardware. I have a not so powerful notebook, and I don't have Wifi. So online installers are off the table. (Nono, visual studio.) Syntax, I like clean, easy to read syntax, and I would like an active community. Any suggestions?15 -
If Python is supposed to be so easy, why do I struggle so badly with it compared to other languages?4

@ everyone who keeps pushing Vue via node
Vue via npm:
- shit
- bundling so you can save 15% on car insurance
- webpack/etc to condense your 50TB node_modules folder
- have to deploy, if you're in the US then it'll probably be in the middle East or maybe North Korea if that falls out
Vue via script tag:
- works awesome
- pretty feckin fast
- can be deployed purely static
- easy debugging from dev console
- easy templating for frontend
- can use existing html/css
- easy to work in teams with people without having everyone install npm
- if you have a designer they will love you for making it easy to style things
- you can cache it and make it offline without any of the new bullshit vuex
- you can use vanilla libraries without a mixin, polyfill, bundler, or etc anus -
Has anyone here ever created fonts? specifically cursive fonts?
If so, comment here. I have an idea. Yes this should be collab, but not really, b/c it is just an idea.
And I need clarification on it. So, yes, technically, a question. Seriously though, font person, I'm talking to you, easy money.

Currently we have to make a new REST API at work. I want to have a clear and functional API (with HAL JSON, that is given). But my colleagues don’t like this, because they don’t like the design (the look and feel) of the HAL JSON responses. They just want an easy API with a nice design, so they want to ignore half of the HAL JSON specification. But a REST API don’t has to be easy and don’t need a fancy design, REST APIs are not for humans but for computers! How can I explain this to them?3

So easy to DOS a whole software company.
Someone (accidentally) started a script or similar, generating so many requests on StackOverflow that our IP got banned.
In the company chat people already joking how they cannot work. This is "critical infrastructure" in 2018: faulty IP in our network is taken offline. Let's see if we can access SO again today.1 -
Im trying dry January.. so far or was easy but now I’m watching terminator and I really want a whiskey..13

As a fairly new developer, I find it difficult to answer SO questions because all of the easy questions are already answered. Does this get less difficult as you progress as a developer?1

Almost got caught taking taking a nap haha
Lately I've been taking it easy since the work I've been doing has been super easy and boring.
So I was just lying in bed watching some youtube video.
When it ended I decided it might be a good time to check my laptop and see if there was a message.
Sure enough, I WAS FIVE MINUTES LATE TO A MEETING!
When I joined, there was only one person. It was a bit hard to tell if he just didn't quit the meeting since I was expecting another person on the call haha.
Then I checked the invite list. Oh, he declined.
Oh shit. My manager was supposed to be on the call too.
Upon further inspection. He said he was 15 minutes late.
So he didn't catch me slacking off haha.
Otherwise I'd for sure miss the "you coming?" message since I turned off slack notifications on my phone and he'd think I take off an hour on fridays regularly.
Not easy to slack off, haha6 -

Lost one day mounting my CNC.
Still on the basics...
Found out that I baddly welded the two fucking easy drivers and made a bad connection I can't undo now.
So the drivers are always on and stepping :(
5€ to the trash.2 -
I think, in a few years programming will be like driving. It will be so easy to learn that almost everyone would be a programmer.3

I was bored so I learned HTML/CSS, I was like "eh, programming is easy!".
So I learned C next and I was like "eh, programming is kinda hard actually".
So I learned to program rather than learn a language, got back to C until I was comfortable with it.
Nothing is hard now :D2 -
It was a little Java Swing Application for my friend who had to maintain a little notebook for his insulin values.
The device he used to read his values, saved them as a csv-file, so it was pretty easy to map them to a readable format, so he didn't have to maintain that notebook.
He never used the App. He got an implant that manages it for him.1 -
what is the best way to become better in JS, there is so many library and stuff, it's easy to get lost in this jungle ?9

So I just downloaded devRantron and it's great, it was so easy to install with the .deb file, the website for getting it looked very proffesional and the program itself also look very clean and overall proffesional. The manager that believed that sharing code was bad. We had a web and a windows client over the same db. No code shared. He'd rather duplicate the code and maintenance than share it. And the BL should be put in stored procedures, 'cause that's so easy to change in-flight...

So some people really liked the last article I wrote, so I figured I'd share this one that's kinda on the same topic:

I fell in love with the “Limonade“ PHP-Framework recently. It's a really cute, little and easy framework. I have so much fun creating Web-Apps and Websites with it!

Concatenation of strings in a loop (in C#). Seriously. It's just so easy and unless you are doing something memory intensive or awful (in which case I am sorry) it really doesn't do much harm if any.

purity might just be the most important thing when refactoring code you didn't write.
for real, if you purify everything in that code, future refactorings will go way smoother and reasoning even more so.
But it's no easy feat, sometimes you face cockroach code. cockroach code is code written nuke style. The fire and forget code that you shouldn't forget.
cockroach code's easy to spot. you can't know what cockroach code does without reading it's comments. roach code is fat, roach code retro feeds from different spots of macaroni. it does IO and everything else all bundled together.
roach code isn't easy to scratch out its async version. in fact, thats a property of roach code. If you can't make it async without a rewrite, you've got roach code.12 -
Had to switch to Linux mint from Solus cause I needed to use Coq and I didn't feel like compiling it from scratch when it's easy to get in mint. Anyone used Coq before? My teacher loves it for discrete math, and I like functional languages so I'm a bit intrigued4

Yet another WordPress rent... But..
I normally don't develop for WordPress so I didn't knew that every Wordpress Site has by default a RESTapi enabled.
Which makes it super easy to scrape content, remove Ads and so on..
Just add /wp-json/wp/v2/pages/ to any url that's running wordpress..
Works also with media uploads, comments... Everything...

I spend the last two days to write a super tiny piece of the web thingy i want to create, a javascript that builds tables from the data the php backend provides. I am mostly clueless but i learned so much along the way..yet, it still feels like i accomplished anything at all.
163 lines of javascript, so less, so much time. At least its pretty much universal as long as i build the backend right (which is pretty easy).6 -
You know what I hate? The periods close to a new release. It's that annoying time that managers start heaving impatiently to developers: "Push out new hotfixes! Push out new hotfixes!". Fuck you, man. Don't stress a developer. Kthx. If you think developing is so easy, come do it yourself, you IT-ignorant buffoon.1

Just an appreciation post. Ant Design is the best React Library that I have encountered so far. It's so easy and clean to create new modules. It has already built-in features, especially for Tables.
As a backend developer who has been working in front-end for the past 6 months, I love this library. -

Rust's Result is definitely the best error-handling experience I have ever had. I started working on some Typescript stuff after using Rust for a few weeks and had to implement my own Result. It's just so easy and clean that it leaves exceptions in the dust. I don't think I can live without Results anymore.
Now I understand why everyone loves rust so much. It's just so clean, safe, easy (after you get the hang of it) and so fucking powerful (procedural macros are awesome).
I want to use Rust everywhere now <35 -
VBScript.
Hey look, this arg is declared as ByRef, but when you called that procedure you put it in parentheses, so it was passed by value! Yeah, makes perfect sense, and soooo easy to debug... -

As much as I want to love cpanel as it makes things easy, it just gets so hard to make things awkward! -
I don’t get why ARM assembly is so much clunkier than it should be. It could’ve been so much more readable and easy to write in if more dev-friendliness was built into the syntax.14

So, working on real multi language support today I was searching for countries and country-codes. Yes this one is easy peasy. Also easy if you want every countryname in your supported languages.
But why is there no source for the states or provinces translated in every language. It's so hard to find...
Anyone knows a source for it? Is it worth to create a project for such translations?1 -

when you're the unlucky fuck and/or too stupid to get green builds so you get flamed when the flaky automated tests (from before your time, not written by you) rear their head and shit all over you

Long time frustration
My close friend wanted to focus on machine learning and AI. in summer he did some research and figured out it is difficult to get those jobs. Now he is learning Angular 2. And applying for web development.
I am tired of people getting into web just because everything else seems difficult to them.
I just don't like people who think web is easy. And take it for granted.
I know comparing to machine learning Web does have an easy entry level barrier. But tired of devs, undermining web development complexity.
I think world thinks

Nobody is here, right? So, I can complain without sounding mean...
Vue Mastery and Vue School are both absolute nightmare education offerings.
That's all. Mindbogglingly invaluable.
Maybe it's the churn... but also - you could rerecord those videos in a week or two and have them updated... easy...4 -
What is the best way to use/implement metronics theme?
My employer has a project that I am on and so far metronics -- what I gathered to be easy to use front end etc has really just made developing in the frontend feel like walking around in mud. Am I missing something? -

When you want to investigate what a function does, you read the name and say "ok, seems reasonable what it should be doing" ... and then you encounter an adventure of if-else's, nested if's and else's, some promises here and there (with more nested if's and else's) and also a bunch of dispatches sprinkled all over the place. You want to refactor it into tinier functions but can't because you don't know what happens where ... help ... 🙄😩

I'm just a beginner with CSS, nodejs, sass and whatsoever. Also I really enjoy writing my docs with Markdown, so I decided to make an effort and create a project that aims to create an easy-to-use and easy-to-apply Markdown themes, that can be customized.
I know that this may be horrible code, but If someone can point me in a good direction, I'd be glad to learn and apply it.

All Java devs are so proud about their website.
But all of them have too many ads. They all look like straight from 1990, but at the same time, they say „HTML/CSS“ is easy.5 -
Spent hours installing m2cryoto adb openssl on Windows but couldn't reach anywhere, at home it took five minutes and done. There is nothing like osx (brew) and linux. Things are so easy on them. They make development faster.

We all know that writing your own css is easy.
Then we just try to pick up other's code and continue with their style...
It's taking so much time, I guess it's about collaboration now not only trying to figure it out alone .. -
Im so bored that I downloaded a 2d maze game on my phone...
I know it's cry very easy to solve since just need to go backwards but somehow still play it... -
To me as a web developer, the webflow designer UI feels quite unintuitive and so a seemingly easy little JavaScript customization takes hours XD
