She: Uuggrrr.. You did it again
Me: What
She: Stop opening the dev tools
Me: Oh sorry
She: Leave me alone with your laptop.
10 min later
Me: What did you change?
She: I tried to remove the dev tools by changing the dragged position to a negative value in chromes config files.
Me: wow.
She: Didn't work.
Me: Hehe, nice try though
*opens chrome*
Me: wut.
She: *chuckles*

I don't know why people call themselves "Developers" when they really just download a WordPress theme and adds bunch of plugins without touching a single line of code.
What the hell is going on?9 -
FUCK WORDPRESS
FUCKING FUCK THIS GODFORSAKEN CMS
FUCK THE GUY WHO USED PLUGINS WHO BREAK WHEN I TRY TO UPGRADE FROM PHP 5 TO PHP 7
FUCK THE THEME BUILDER WHICH WON'T WORK UNLESS I SWITCH TO PHP 7
FUCK THIS ENTIRE WEBSITE WHICH DEPENDS ON A PHP VERSION THAT HAS REACHED END OF LIFE ONE FUCKING YEAR AGO
FUCK THE OLD PEOPLE THAT ADMINISTER IT, AND DON'T WANT TO LEARN HOW TO USE NEW PLUGINS AND KEEP USING THE OLD, BROKEN AND UN-MAINTAINABLE ONES
special mention: fuck this one fucking plugin who claims to implement paypal when it doesn't actually work, and the 2 fucking thousand of JQuery lines I have to go through to fix it11 -
Devrant client update:
- load indicator on ajax execs
- changed the design yet again, hopefully final this time lol
- implemented ajax content loading so the menubar doesn't flash
- block users/keywords plugins done, only left to find a clean way to integrate it with the upcoming notifications, so no notifications are fired for blocked users or posts with blocked keywords (similar to twitter mute keywords)
- usernames linkifier plugin
- links get unshortened on feed too (via plugin), without losing the ability to press on a post
next is (just to name a few, the trello list is far bigger by now)
- local notifications, should be firing without GCM/FCM too hopefully, which would be great for people on here that de-googled entirely and don't want microG
- port some of my userscript plugins I haven't yet
- theme system
- global and plugin settings
- plugin update system
- plugin import checks for obfuscated code, one line etc. and warns the user
- client update system7 -

!Rant
Meanwhile I work 1,5years for a company which makes AutoCAD plugins. I have created a dozen of plugins now, some very complicated.
Yesterday I started on the simplest plugin, a tutorial for new colleagues. It literally prints "hello world" after giving a command.
Guess what... I can't get it to work 😖7 -
"Don't reinvent the wheel..." - I read it often, still I hate to use foreign code. It's not only that I do it for learning purposes. I just don't trust them. I want to keep the control, I want to understand my application and I want to be to blame when things fuck up.
I would probably through my laptop if my website gets hacked because of some fucking plugin or code I found somewhere on the internet.
So yes, I will invent the wheel new. At least I will spent some time to understand how this particular wheel is made, how it rolls and how I can improve it for my specific situation.
Sometimes my tires have some uncommon profile, but they fit to the stuff they are made for.16 -
I saw an article about the best open source text editors today. I was expecting to see atom, vs code etc. Well no, the author says "sublime text. It's not exactly open source or even freeware software, but there are lots of open source plugins for it."
Well why in world would you title the article best open source editors?? Why not call it what it is: "my lovefest for sublime text and some plugins." You could post it on your stupid blog with 1 reader per month where I would never find it and waste my time on it.9 -
Darn it, I was having such a good day. Just sitting over here in sysadmin land watching the Java devs tear their hair out over the Log4j vulnerability, when someone just had to ask me about the Jenkins servers my team maintains.
Jenkins doesn't use Log4j! What a relief!
Jenkins does, however, have third-party plugins, some of which use Log4j. And thus my relief was short-lived and now I'm also tearing out my hair trying to patch this shit.17 -
So instead of using the budget of 7k$ to buy all the plugins the old developer needed, he torrented more than half of them and deployed the system
which ended up in 20 thousand users including companies reporting a breach, because avira etc reported some kind of drive-by scripts on the new website
what a fucking buffoon, the most annoying thing about this is, that all the plugins had a "license file", so I didn't even first get, where all that shit is coming from3 -
God fucking dammit.
I got assigned to a WordPress project...
I AM NOT A WORDPRESS DEVELOPER!!!
Why do I have to deal with this giant pile of stinking shit?
I'm a php developer, I make applications, I don't write fucking wordpress plugins...
WHY DOES THIS EXIST, WHY DID WORDPRESS BECOME SUCCESSFUL WHY CAN'T I JUST DEV IN PIECE.
Dear wordpress developers,
Please suffocate on a big fat old cock.
Regards.10 -
I dunno if anyone else has said this here but

No grandpa, I don't scam people online. I am a web developer - I earn my living online, building web apps, plugins, etc. (and stuff that you won't really grasp). And again, stop telling people that I'm lazy - I don't watch movies on my computer from 8AM-5PM. Lovely grandma, please don't believe him.2

Wordpress does not suck. If you know how to work it.
Past period I saw so many rants on WP. My rant is that it is not 100% WP fault. Yes there are seriously structural problems in WP but that does not mean you cannot create top-notch websites.
At my work we create those top-notch WP sites. Blazing fast and manageable. Seriously we got a customer request to make the site slower because it loaded pages to fast (ea; you hardly could see you switched pages).
- We ONLY use a strict set of plugins that we think are stable, useful.
- We have everything in composer (and our own Satis) for plugins.
- We use custom themes & classes. Our code is MVC with Twig.
- In our track history we have 0 hacked websites for the past 2 years.
- Everything runs stable 24/7
- We have OTAP (testing, acceptance & production environments)
- We patch really fast
These are sites going from $15k++ and we know our shit.
Don't hate on WP if you have no clue what you are doing yourself.
That is my rant.23 -
Is it too much to ask for the dumb ass devs behind Eclipse to fucking let a FRESH install - no plugins yet, open without crashing?
is that even a thing?
Fuck you Eclipse, and companies that make me use this useless pile of shit!7 -
finished learning a framework/plugin.. *feel like boss* 😎
bam! new version with breaking changes.. *feel like sobbing* 😭7 -
The reality of Android hobby projects:
First 25min of each coding session goes to updating Android studio and plugins...3 -
Started using visual studio code last night for PHP development. So far I’m liking it a lot. The number of plugins available is ridiculous.8
-
Using vim instead of an IDE has helped me increase my typing speed but I also think that I understand more this way.
Without auto complete (although you could get this via plugins) you have to type every single character which helps you understand the things you type3 -
First day with vim + tmux lots of command remembered :) and added lots of plugins let's see how it goes :)5
-
Classic Wordpress:
1. Find a problem
2. Throw 2 to 6 plugins on the problem.
3. Admit, that they don't fix the problem either.
4. Implement some crappy workaround yourself.
But: It could get worse. You could use Joomla as CMS. Same shit, but without the available mass of plugins.6 -
I fucking hate that PHPStorm is the only valid option for serious PHP framework development.
It's the opposite of free in every imaginable way: Expensive subscription license, hard to fully customize, closed source.
But there's just nothing even approaching the intelligence of intellisense. There are plugins for Vim, Atom, Sublime and VSCode which try to emulate it, but they are so fucking basic and dumb.
😠25 -
I can forgive some weirdness in generated html, but it is when generated html is combined with some plugins, and then a starting html dev who doesn't know what he's doing sprinkles some extras on top that you get frankenstein creatures like this.6
-
Which dev charges certain devs thst use their Intellij-Plugin? 🤣
I hope he knows that he will never get his money. But nice strategy agains people who are blaming you. 👍🏽1 -
Dear wordpress developers,
You have my sincerest apologies. I used to think developing with wordpress is what people do when they are feeling lazy and dont want to work with code and frameworks. But no... wordpress, shopify and all those shitty ready CMSs are by far the worst methods of developing websites or web applications. I have spent countless hours in my new job in the past two months simply trying to resolve issues caused by wordpress websites suddenly deciding to stop working after one of the billion plugins required to do the simplest of tasks was updated. The money i need to spend on premium plugins alone makes developing the website no longer profitable in the first place. And god forbid the client asks for a very simple frontend edit that the theme doesnt offer in the theme options menu. Even tho doing the feature from scratch would take next to no time at all if you do it yourself... you end up trying out a hundred plugins just to achieve something in a ways that feels very forced. Nothing will ever top cakephp for me2 -
DatePickers should be a W3C standard handled by the browser. We shouldn't rely on JavaScript plugins to do this basic input stuff8

Am I a machochistic fuck?
This sunday I had the glorious idea to fix a not-so-recent Wordpress website for a friend.
Imagine an upgrade from 3.3.2 to 4.9.8! (and PHP 5.5.old to 7.2.new
Oh boy. I thought it was impossible, because the site uses a free theme from 2012 and had some other plugins installed.
But what kind of developer am I, if I give up so easily?
I forced XAMPP to run PHP 5.6.stoneage in order to let me debug this thing. After some fixing in different files, I was able to get the admin panel back, disabled some plugins and then overwrote the installation with WP 4.9.8. After firing up the admin panel I had to fix 20 differend PHP files in the plugins.
Finally! After the plugins were updated, all worked again.
Except for the backend part of this free crappy theme. It uses an old version of JQuery UI widgets with custom mods.
I've done enough for today so I let it be like this. I'm not in the mood to load a second JQuery version.4 -
I'm really tired of hearing "hey isn't there a plugin for that"?
Idiot that's the reason your fucking WordPress site has 78 plugins and it runs like shit6 -
It literally just happened:
my boss taught me how to use npm, bower and similar to have plugins while developing websites.
This time around we had a project which is divided among different repositories.
One was a foundation project using npm to build, the other one was a socket.io server, using actual nodejs
boss thought: "well they both have node_modules, let's merge them and merge the package.json as well
Nothing worked anymore. -
I rewrote my static website generation from jekyll to custom python code over single night.
Literally all jekyll plugins I use including seo, rss, syntax highlighting inside markdown content, sitemap, social plugins, css sass, all of it.
Now it’s around 400 lines of python code that I understand completely. I didn’t touch any existing templates and after comparing output I got even better results now and it’s working faster.
I skipped drafts as I don’t need them now.
Why ? Cause now I can make better generator for my side projects that can include some partial website generation, better modification and date handling, tree structure, etc.
What I will do now is that I will parse bunch of content to create markdown files that will be sucked by this generator to create static web pages that will flood internet lol.
Still I didn’t believe it was possible to rewrite all of it so quickly. I sit yesterday around 4pm and finished around 6am.
I started thinking that maybe I am crazy and no one can help me.9 -

Spent 4 hours debugging a “button” styling, worked fine locally but not on production.!
After striking out “cache” issues, “browser” versions, “fonts”, “sass errors” the error was with a stupid chrome extension that appended a css class attribute to the “HTML” tag 😡
And the other developer thought that was a part of what was written in the code !!
Hate these kinda plugins that manipulate the DOM 😪

- Fuck Wordpress page builders that use the single content field as an embedded IDrag&DropE.
- Fuck unindented HTML markup
- Fuck plugins with "pro" versions that provide more than 50% of the advertised features.
- Fuck building an app with a SPA framework and then adding SSR cuz ur SEO is fucked.
- Fuck Javascript transitions that are meant to make a site look fancy but slow it the fuck down.
Fuck it.

Spent 6 hours implementing a feature because my senior didn't want to use a 3rd party plug-in.
After said 6 hours, went to look at the plugin's source code to get some inspiration with a problem I was having.
Guess fucking what? Plug-in was implemented exactly as I had done it to start with. Even better, actually, since it fixed some native bugs I couldn't find a way around.
Went back to my senior, showed him both sources and argued again in favour of the plug-in.
Senior: "Meh, I'm not sure. Don't really like to keep adding plugins"
Me: "Why? Do they cause performance hits? Increase memory usage?"
S: "No, not all. But I don't like plugins"
/flip
We ended up using the plug-in, but I "wasted" a whole day doing something we scrapped. Guess I learned some interesting things about encryption on Android, at least...6 -

Progress since my last post - quite like where the iterations since the cold design got me, next is the actual rant view and then will implement all sort of auth things like posting comments.
Have also figured out a way to have style and script plugins, haven't tried it yet though, especially with storage rulesets it might not be as smooth as I imagine it to be.
Another screenshot in the comments.2 -

I have been working on a hybrid app since 7 months
Today my manager told me, I didn't do anything except adding random plugins here and there :|
And my colleagues i.e. native app developers were laughing :|
What the fuckin fuck man ://3 -
WordPress core itself isn’t the problem. It’s the horribly substandard plugins the client insist on that introduces all the problems.

Isn't it wild how everything’s turned into a subscription these days?
I’ve started building my own ad-free tools and plugins just to dodge all those monthly fees for AI, SEO, WordPress, server tools, and addons.
...Yet somehow, I’m still shelling out about $200 a month. The irony, right? 😅23 -
I once thought that developing on WordPress was cool and easy. Now I see that it's a total abomination.
No more WordPress job for me. I'm gtfo.3 -
When your plugins list in your newly "coded" WordPress site could use an infinity loader, that means you are probably one of those fucking two weeks fucking coding bootcamps miracles. Fuck, that's not how the website is done...

Talking with manager about C++ ...
ME: ... and those are the main differences when coming from C03 to C17.
MGR: OK. I think I got it... are these changes those kind of changes that when we know them we can work in any industry if they use C++?
ME: No they are not, sorry. They are like basic enablers to even start considering entering some industries. What you mean are standards. AUTOSAR standard for example is for automotive industry.
The standard requires some level of C++ standard competency.
MGR: Are these standards like plugins for C++...
ME: ? ... no. They specify rules and architecture, conventions and such.
MGR: ... aah. Architecture, I know that word. So in fact they are plugins....like...like...Eclipse IDE has architecture and it can have plugins....right ? ... and you just plugin that AUTOSAR standard to C++ language.
ME: I think you mixing stuff up on multiple levels here. I think we are not ready to talk C++ competency as a strategic decision yet... lets get some basics down first and discuss this stuff in one month.
MGR: ... ?..but, but I mean it can't be that hard. I think I almost got the gist. I just misunderstood at some point.
ME: Sure, sure. No worries...you almost had it *with deep sarcasm*.5 -
After many days of fighting with gem and bundle surrounding logstash plugins, I can officially say I hate Ruby.2

Idea for a devrant feature:

The webdevs from another team upgraded jquery from 1 to 3 and wondered why the interactions aren't working anymore.
Why tf do you call yourself a developer when you can't fix deprecated stuff. Simply by using plugins and copy paste shit.
And fuck me, i'm fixing their shit now23 -
I use Intellij for just about everything and recently it has started giving me nonsense suggestions for autocomplete and whatever the "alt+enter" menu is called.
As it turns out, they installed more plugins that foisted AI assistance onto me *again* even though I have disabled it every time previously.
I am so ready for this gimmick to die.8 -
There are these type of costumers who think they better know how much time it takes to do something then me. They think because they can do a little SQL and VBA, they know what it takes to work on an E-Commerce Plattform. What’s wrong with this shitheads? How about some respect?
They tried to compare the integration of an Instagram wall with integrating automated product variations. They then proposed some plugins that i should use. Surprise the plugins are completely useless for the usecase.
I just want to hit them with their dumbness. In the face. Very hard.1 -
fuck wordpress... Got a request to improve wordpress site speed + pagespeed score. 20-30 plugins, 15 or more additional ones off. Improved the score and noticed that my adblocker is blocking a lot of urls. Sure enough theres a hidden iframe in the bottom with 10 ad network scripts and bidding get requests. Any tips on fixing hacked wordpress sites?5

All I wanted to do was to create a quick cordova/phonegap app that uses external plugins - so I can't just preview it.

If you've ever tried using Go plugins raise your hand.
If you've ever tried doing plugins in Go, raise your hand.
If you think that the following rant will be interesting, raise your hand.
If you raised your hand, press [Read More]:
This is a tale of pain and sorrow, the sorrow of discovering that what could be a wonderful feature is woefully incomplete, and won't be for a very long time...
Go plugins are a cool feature: dynamically load pre-compiled code, and interact with it in a useful and relatively performant way (e.g. for dynamically extending the capabilities of your program). So far it sounds great, I know right?
Now let me list off some issues (in order of me remembering them):
1. You can't unload them (due to some bs about dlopen), so you need to restart the application...
2. They bundle the stdlib like a regular Go binary, despite the fact that they're meant to be dynamic!
3. #2 wouldn't be so bad if they didn't also require identical versions of all dependencies in both binaries (meaning you'd need to vendor the dependencies, and also hope you are using the right Go version).
4. You need to use -trimpath or everything dies...
All in all, they are broken and no one is rushing to fix it (literally, the Go team said they aren't really supporting it currently...).
So what other options are there for making plugins in Go?
There's the Hashicorp method of using RPC, where you have two separate applications one the plugin, one the plugin server, and they communicate over RPC. I don't like it. Why? Because it feels like a hack, it's not really efficient and it carries a fear of a limitation that I don't like...
Then we come to a somewhat more clever approach: using Lua (or any other scripting language), it's well known, it's what everyone uses (at least in games...). But, it simply is too hard to use, all the Go Lua VMs I could find were simply too hard to set up...
Now we come to the most creative option I've seen yet: WASM. Now you ask "WASM!? But that's a web thing, how are you gonna make that work?" Indeed, my son, it is a web thing, but that doesn't mean I can't use it! Someone made a WASM VM for Go, and the pros are that you can use any WASM supporting language (i.e. any/all of them). Problem inefficient, PITA to use, and also suffers from the same issues that were preventing me from using Lua.
Enter Yaegi, a Go interpreter created by the same guys who made (and named) Traefik. Yes, you heard me right, an INTERPRETER (i.e. like python) so while it's not super performant (and possibly suffering from large inefficiency issues), it's very easy to set up, and it means that my plugins can still be written in Go (yay)! However, don't think this method doesn't have its own issues, there's still the problem of effectively abstracting different types of plugins without requiring too much boilerplate (a hard problem that I'm actively working on, commits coming soon). However, this still feels to be the best option.
As you can see, doing plugins in Go is a very hard problem. In the coming weeks (hopefully), I'm going to (attempt to at least) benchmark all the different options, as well as publish a library that should help make using Yaegi based plugins easier. All of this stuff will go (see what I did there 😉) in a nice blog post that better explains the issues and solutions. But until then I have some coding to do...
Have a good night(/day)!13 -
My latest project is overhauling a WP site my company outsourced to a local "development" company. Why is development in quotes you may ask? Because their idea of development is about 30 plugins and minor changes to a theme. The only saving grace here is that they used a child theme.2

All day emails are flying with executives, managers and leads jerking each other off after a "successful" migration from old, weird ass in-house custom java build tool that took hours to build anything and required the dependencies to be downloaded manually, to mainstream tool that also takes hours to build anything aka. Gradle.
What the code monkeys responsible for this migration actually did, was write Gradle plugins that still call that old weird ass tool in the background.4 -
Overhears colleague say 'Ohh there's a plugin for that'. Few weeks later i find the dumb fuck added it to the codebase and not use the dependency manager. I'd happily shoot the senior Dev who peer reviewed it but looks like this pleb merged straight in!

I just spent a whole day learning wordpress cause it's mandatory for my graduation project and I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing.
I'm proficient with HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP enough to make the damn thing in less than a day, yet here I am strugling with the damn plugins and themes... It just looks too chaotic for me.6 -
I'm still performing the sin that got me into my first real programming language:
Bukkit Plugins ...13 -
just a note to everyone selling web based software, like plugins or themes: check github. someone who bought your stuff might have put it in a public repository, enabling everyone to get your product for free.1

I'm a Linux guy, but for some goddamn reason I work in sound. Which means I need vst plugins and windows. EVERY FUCKING TIME WINDOWS OVERWRITES MY DARN LINUX PARTITION just enough that I can't recover it AND THEN FUCKS UP THE BOOTLOADER THAT I CAN'T EVEN BOOT Windows. Whyyyyyyy? I just want to work or play a game but now I'm stuck fixing bootloaders and corrupt partitions...... Fml8

CLIENT: My wordpress site runs really slowly, can you fix it?
Me: Yeah sure, let me have a look.
*logs in and sees Facebook feeds, twitter feeds, 3 seo plugins, 5 backup generators, 4 slider plugins, jscomposer, social sharing buttons and loads more*
Me: Do you realise that you don't need that many plugins?
Client : well they make my site really fancy and my customers love it.
Me: yafud7 -
Visual Studio Code !!
It has tons of features, form keybinding, to language support
I just love the inbuilt terminal support
And with git integration and some plugins, there's absolutely no need for separate git client -
On a programming lab the professor told us to use gedit to write our code because "it's easy to use"
No, thanks
*Installs a few plugins and uses vim instead*
Now *that's* what I call easy 😎3 -
group policy prevents me from installing browser plugins at work. For crying out loud, I'm a dev! Any set of permissions that enables me to do my job would include an escape hatch for this! I can just rebuild Firefox without group policy support! What the fuck is this meant to achieve besides waste company resources!?4
-
Getting ready to start working a little something something on the side. Client (read as uncle-in-law) wants it in Wordpress because he
1) has heard of it
2) can buy themes. I told him I can make it look any way he wants and use something else, something that I'm actually familiar with. He wants Wordpress. At least it looks like writing my own plugins to do stuff will be really easy.5 -
A Rant about my past self!
I thought I never did this shit myself! While restoring a old game server with it's various plugins and infra, I found this randomly.
It was for a Admin Panel that was never used in anything commercial. And I think no one ever saw this reponse anyway since I built the frontend that used it as well.
I'm still embarrassed that 16yo me did this exact thing, I think is just plain stupid today.

Just a friendly heads up that you can find plugins for any browser that'll give any web page a dark theme!4

Oh my damn god,
I just found the remote-server plugin for vsCode and holy fuck balls, it's the one thing I've wanted from vsCode since ever.
When you dev in VMs and are forever working with remote code using SFTP and git on a remote servers, it's a pain in the ass.
But this, god damn this solves all of that, and with connection specific plugins, I think I just came.7 -
when you cant be arsed to do icons so you just use emojis for button icons.
btn.textContent = "🗑️"
because icon sets now have their own apis (like what ever happened to icon fonts?), and documents explaining what scripts and commands to run to *install fucking plugins* on software written to *supplement* doc servers. plugins and software whos host site returns an SSL error. nice.
to use web icons. downloaded only on request. from other sites.
seems kind of eh, tower-of-baylon to me. like a bird landing on the electrical lines near your house might cause a blip and break one or two icons on your slick 2020 web app.
idk just seems unnecessary, like if you're small, your gonna want to embed your fonts on the webpage instead of overcooking things and hosting *a fucking server* just to serve an api for fucking *icons*. and if you're large you're gonna reduce those requests anyway12 -
Just let me add a new feature to this Wordpress site, I'll just enable debugging to see if it produces any errors.
TURN IT OFF!! TURN IT OFF!!
All I could see was error upon error upon error. Mostly from old and not updated plugins.
I'll just leave it there till client decides they want a new rebranding and start from scratch1 -
I started playing Counter-Strike 1.6 at the age of 11. Soon after that, I wanted to own a server. I've managed to create a server in the following weeks but I wasn't happy, I needed custom plugins but I didn't have any programming skills. And that's how the journey started.

Just released another free open source project. I know the world doesn't need anymore tooltip plugins, but I had already done the work for my confirmation tooltip, so I just separated it out and added triggers and themes. https://github.com/HTMLGuyLLC/...16

One poor pepega like me will spend days optimizing a web app, reducing the bundle size, reusing components as much as possible to save space, carefully choosing the right libraries for the right jobs and doing some careful tayloring to bring them in line with your needs, choosing the right webpack plugins to compile everything exactly like you want and keeping track of every dependency to make sure nothing unwanted makes its way to the final product, caching results to avoid any unnecessary call to the server, then some random team leader randomly forces you to drop in jquery-era plugins just because they look nice and won't listen to a word you're saying.
I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS A SWEET ALERT; I DIDN'T USE IT FOR A FUCKING REASON.2 -
What's worse than WordPress? WordPress + WooCommerce! What's worse than WordPress + WooCommerce? WordPress + WooCommerce + PayPal! What other more shitty software could we possibly add? Some malicious virus hidden somewhere in the millions of free WordPress plugins most of which are not even full open-source? Who can possibly review and maintain that rummage table of outdated crap code?13

I'm preparing slides for my "Vim in an IDE world" talk right now. Do you use vim emulation plugins inside Intellij-based or any other IDEs? What do you think about them? What can you recommend to the beginners?12

I think it should be an unspoken rule that if you make an IOT coffee machine the core framework should be written in Java and any plugins or integrations should be written in JavaScript... you know so future generations arnt confused as fuck.9

Long story short:
Just had several problems with using some drone ci plugins (hugo and sftp). Found issues regarding the problems on GitHub. Issues have been open for several years. Still open. Tried to participate or ask for the state. Got a "no one else got a problem with this". Recoded both plugins. Tested them. Using them now. Source is on GitHub. Posted them as alternatives on drone's discourse. Got flagged as spam.
Nice. Not using Drone again. Searching for an alternative now.
Little extra: I think they banned me from posting GitHub links on their discourse.4 -
I fucking hate webpack, babel plugins, loaders, presets and yarn workspaces and lerna monorepos.
Fucking stuck for days on not being able to run a project, tried a lot of github issues solutions. Yes I did read the docs and articles.1 -
Rust's DX is incredible. I previously published a couple packages to NPM and every step of the way i had to fight with NPM, Webpack, Rollup, Typescript and the mass of third party plugins for all of these that wired them together. Here it's literally just

My fascination for programming began around 13, when i started developing plugins for my minecraft server in java.
Had an awesome time with creating plugins for some fully custom servers with relatively large playerbases(50-200 players, depended on the time of the day).
This sparked something in me, and i started creating crapp ass "portfolio" sites for myself with php and mysql login and registration forms. After that I got into some basic c# abd had fun with some cute console/form applications.
And here comes today, in the process of picking up more css, php, html, js knowledge, probably heading towards react or vue.
I just love programming to death. -

I feel like I know what I shouldn't know. I know a little about using jQ and JS (mainly little plugins) but I can't code js from scratch.
I use vanilla html and css and my environment is notepad++.
I feel like I should know SASS, Pug and use Webstorms or some other professional IDE. And learn js.
Which preprocessors do you prefer? Which IDEs and which point to start learning js from scratch?8 -
Who else noticed Jetbrains is selling the exact fucking same IDE a bunch of times with different plugins? Intellij Idea is essentially the same IDE as Gogland or PHPStorm, just with different plugins, yet they want money for every single IDE separately...8
-
So I created my first Babel plugin today.
I think I'm hooked. This stuff is really cool, kind of opens a whole new world for you ☺️6 -
If there is anything worse than a bad, not willing to learn programmer is a so called plugin programmer.
Who only knows how to install plugin over plugin to do a simple task.
Just had to fix something on one websites (wp site, I know, just kill me) where the guy had like 25-30 plugins (some where disabled). And most of them were for adding new widget positions.3 -
So disabling a lot of plugins in android studio made it a tad bearable and suffocates my system lesser.2

The newest fucking chrome update made image previews (and other dark elements in chrome) fuck up (the actual image is only the white rectangle, the shitty half darker tone is the shit I am talking about), I even deactivated all the fucking plugins to make sure its none of them, did anyone else have that and fixed it? it doesn't even appear in the fucking source wtf5

When you carefully compress and cache all your webpage resouces to boost pageloads, but 3rd party social plugins make your website slow as hell.1
-
All the stackoverflow users recommending jquery plugins for everything (back when I was a noob) It would be so much easier to learn js without them.3
-
Someone mentioned that client want to use wordpress instead of they current website because it is cheaper! Ok lets see how cheap it is.. each time wp release update after updating you need go through all website and check if nothing is broken.. plugins will need update as well because usually they run on specific wp version. Fixing theme and plugins requires dev time.. despite all those things.. have common sense. Maybe it is good for some type of business to host few pages without any business logic or use as blog without scare to loose everything and do not store users data.. someone mentioned that it is secure to run anything because updates are the best security to avoid security breaches. So why banks are not running on WP? Why health service is not using WP?

/rant on
React Native is BS for Android. Outdated as hell Gradle builds (1.x for certain plugins I mean wtf) and it targets outdated SDK and build tools... Why no simply code for system your software is meant to work :P

In seriousness, I get the concept of build once deploy on all platforms ala Electron but better but hell why is the tooling so outdated?1 -
Fuck, now I'm actually somewhat mad how much time those figma plugins could've saved me lol.
Especially things like generating a quick color palette, that immediately pastes them next to the element are so damn useful.
Generating real-life data into text elements, avatars pulled right from an API, auto fetched graphs for example data, all the goodies that make life easier.5 -
Why haven't I learned about js fetch before now. I've even used socket.io!
Fetch is amazing and I just built a function for using fetch with WordPress AJAX hooks. Yes I know it's WordPress and there's jQuery but all of my custom plugins use vanilla js as a little fuck you.
Oh yeah but ie doesn't support it at all2 -
Apple fucked me, their latest iOS version broke my app 🙄 10.1.2
Then my phone gap plugins decided to update to .. they also don't work 🙄
Absolute mess only way I knew was rolling code back to a version that once worked... Thanks github!3 -
Do you have a favorite status bar app? I have been using polybar since I switched to bspwm in December, and I've been really happy with all the customizations and plugins you can write for it, but I just wonder if anyone has been using any other bars that do something they really love.8

Developing, not just maintaining, Classic ASP websites. In Visual Studio. It just pretends it's just HTML and won't highlight or help me with syntax highlights. *Check online for Classic ASP plugins*... *two hours later throw keyboard across room*... then carry on with just HTML hints.4

I'm seriously beginning to hate when blog platforms (like WordPress), are being used as a God damn CMS with thousands of plugins, e-commerce and stuff like that.. I couldn't care less what someone else is using, but when I HAVE TO WORK WITH THAT, then just one big God damn finger to whoever thinks this is the best way. Fuck you and your belief that this kind of stuff is awesome, easy to work with, and with no bugs.4
-
Just read a rant about webpack and suddenly the hate boiled up again ...
Why is it just so damn annoying to configure?
Just make it like gulp or so where you have an actual idea on the workflow, rather than just throwing in plugins at random and let magic happen without knowing wtf is going on.
Tried to update an ejected Angular4 project to angular 5 ... after 2h i gave up and dropped some stuff to use angular-cli again.3 -
I hate fucking SteamVR stuff so much. I don't know why, but Valve has not set up the plugins in a way that makes any sense. I have so many workarounds in the project I'm working on it makes me sick.

I've ranted about this before, but here we go again:
Go Plugins.
I was racking my brains trying to figure out how one could possibly implement plugins easily in Go.
I had a look at using RPC, which requires far to much boilerplate to be realistic. I looked at using Lua, but there doesn't seem to be a straight forward way of using it. I was even about to go with using WASM (yes, WASM). But then I came across Yaegi ("Yet another elegant Go interpreter", you heard right: "interpreter"), Yaegi is also very easy to use.
There are a few issues (including some I haven't solved yet), including flexibility (multiple types of plugins), module support, etc. Fortunately, Traefik just released their plugin system which is based on Yaegi (same company), and I got to learn a few tricks from them.
Here's how module loading works: The developer vendors their dependencies and pushes them to a repo. The user downloads the repo as a zip and saves it to the plugins folder. I hash the zip, unzip it to a cache, and set the the GOPATH for the interpreter to be that extracted folder. I then load the module (which is defined by a config file in the folder), and save it for later. This is the relatively easy part.
The hard part is allowing for different types of plugins. It looks easy, but Go has a strict typing system, makes things complicated. I'm in the process of solving this problem, and so far it should go like this: Check that the plugin fits an arbitrary interface, and if it does, we're good the go. I will just have to apply the returned plugin to that interface. I don't like this method for a few reasons, but hopefully with generics it will become a bit more clean.1 -
I discovered Tmux recently. I already love it!
(if you want a list of plugins used in both Tmux and Vim, just ask. I'm also open to suggestions since it's something I don't really know too well)5 -
Fucking Eclipse at it again.
Colleague was setting up their IDE for working with the ABAP R/3 backend, we use. To speed up the process, colleague A is sending the zipped plugins folder to the new colleague B and telling them to put them into the directory of where eclipse is stored.
Like a good and neat person, B renamed the folder plugins into plugins _old and unzipped the other folder in there. Clicked on eclipse and nothing worked, Error message immediately.
B then proceeded to tell A that it didn't work. A then asked "how did you copy the stuff in there?", and B said that they backed up the original and put the new one in there (mind you, technically that should work, because the eclipse versions were pretty close to eachother, only like a few patches apart).
And then A said, "No No No, you need to just overwrite it."
So that's what B did. Okay so original plugins folder has been overwritten with the sent plugins folder. B clicks eclipse.
Eclipse starts, and shows loading screen.
For like 5 minutes.
Then crashes with sone random error message.
B asks A what's going on, and what cracked me up was, that A just said: "Yeah, it's supposed to crash, just restart it".
So B clicked it again, it launched for another like 5 Minutes and then opened normally, with everything where it should be.
B asks then, if that's normal, and the other devs in the call replied "Yeah, we did it like that too"
ngl, that was one of the funnier teams meetings i had in a while7 -

Hey guys, I want to switch from Windows dev to Linux dev but I am coding game using C# and Monogame's framework. Anyone do any development in WordPress? It's like trying to override a bunch of plugins made by a bunch of developers.
Like the Unyson plugin puts a stupid non-removable notification to install a bunch of crap with a generic class name with !important.
So what did I do? I looked through the source code and found a non-used hook I can tap into and remove the message!5 -
Got frustrated with trying to shoehorn an overly-customized, spaghetti code WooCommerce implementation back into one that is easier to maintain via plugins. You've gone and done it again Android Studio. I can have Visual Studio and Delphi open at the same time and develop and debug plugins for X-Plane on my laptop, but can not run Android Studio smoothly. How much processing power does this piece of shit need?1

The current state of wordpress "web development" makes me want to punch myself in the balls.
I remember when we coded a lot of stuff, now everything is janky drag and dropping, all plugins have premium versions with the actual features you need, templates are more and more full of dependencies that are trash. Wordpress is ruined. I want it to die already.4 -
I just created a wolpertinger.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
We have the problem that the number one build tool for scala / java is sbt.
Sbt sucks.
There are many nice plugins for maven.
Sbt can generate a POM from an SBT build.
But the plugins need to be set up, so the generated POM must be modified...
... a POM is XML.
So Python, Pexpect (as SBT needs a PTY and is very cranky regarding exiting properly and running non interactive)… POM XML modification....
Maven - Plugin run.
But we need to do this on... Larger scale.
So, as I'm a lazy mofo, I wrapped the python thingy in bash, mostly because it was simpler than dealing with async / threading in python. Just spawning per project...
So we have Bash, Python, Java, SBT / Maven, hand in hand....
... Is it normal to feel sorry for the build server?1 -
It feels like this year, I haven't been motivated to build my own apps. At most I make a few fixes to plugins that broke due to HTML layout changes but I haven't built any full apps...
Just feels like I don't have anymore problems that annoy me so much I want to solve/automate away...
There is one minor one actually but it's just a redesign/extension of an existing app I wrote awhile back...11 -
WHY ARE GRAV SLIDESHOW PLUGINS USELESS FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
OWL SHORTCODES DOES NOTHING, LIGHTSLIDER DOCUMENTATION IS THE VAGUEST THING EVER AND THEIR NON-MODULAR EXAMPLE DOESN'T WORK, AND THERE AREN'T GOOD ALTERNATIVES.
... I ended up installing Bootstrap on the site just to get the slideshows working. It looks like shit and is bloating my page so I'M EITHER FIXING THOSE PLUGINS OR SWITCHING BACK TO WORDPRESS. What's the software/hardware/plugins that has become integrated part of your working structure?
Stuff that immediately gets includes on any machine you use and can't imagine working w/o?5 -
Yes WP sites can be bad.
But as bad as it can be, just as easy it can serve as a good kickstarter for the next website.
If just the developer behind said website has some kind of dignity about the code they produce and respect for their fucking job!
1. Don't use bloated plugins.
2. Always vheck out alternatives.
3. Don't ever use paid plugins/themes... just don't.
I for one, whenever installing a plugin, if said plugin generates any kind of unexpected output such as a notice it's an immidiate uninstall, and then rolling my own.
I also use a bare minimum boilerplate theme which does not bundle any frameworks, additional libaries or other kinds of that bloatware for all my wp sites, this ensures that every site is somewhay unique.
I've seen so many "devs" being lazy as fuck, using the wrong themes/plugins to "code" the site.
No! using page builders such as visual composer or bloatware slideshows does not count as good tools.
If you buy a theme from themeforest thinking it will save you hours of custom development, then fuck you... go drown in acid.. because guess fucking what?
It will save you absolutely jack shit in the long run..
Anything stating otherwhise is marketing bullcrap4 -

Having to do 10's of ElasticSearch v2 -> 6 client requests migration manual deploys of a 10-year old PHP/ Javascript codebase where the gulp build's plugins no longer work, the package dependencies have been .gitignore'd (who does that!), and dev cowboys have frequently bypassed version control by making changes directly in production.
Also, no one knows anything about it because the only dev who was supposed to maintain this app left 3 months ago due to unbearable management.1 -
Dear Python linters, why can't any of you implement some actual linting features? Like, say, consistent use of single or double quotes? Or dict() vs {}? How about indenting nested function calls? Forcing list / set / dict literals as multiline? Trailing commas?
And while I'm at it, why can't you handle dependencies properly? Say, separating linter & linter plugins from the remaining dependencies in a way where I don't have to manually remove them from the requirements lockfile every time?3 -

Was just fucking around with MyBB in order to figure out how it works on the control panel - whatever, right? Install a crap ton of plugins, and quite a lot of them wouldn't install due to an SQL statement being wrong. I check them, and either:
- the plugin ID is specified (it's auto-increment, it really shouldn't be specified at all)
- the database expected an integer and instead got a word
like for fucks sake, it's either 1 or 0 for being default, yet a lot of developers PUT YES OR NO?? HOW IS THAT EVEN REMOTELY AN INTEGER WHAT THE FUCK
So that was my past hour, running through plugin files, finding SQL statements and altering them. Safe to say that for what I got out of the plugins, it really wasn't worth it. -
Aka... How NOT to design a build system.
I must say that the winning award in that category goes without any question to SBT.
SBT is like trying to use a claymore mine to put some nails in a wall. It most likely will work somehow, but the collateral damage is extensive.
If you ask what build tool would possibly do this... It was probably SBT. Rant applies in general, but my arch nemesis is definitely SBT.
Let's start with the simplest thing: The data format you use to store.
Well. Data format. So use sth that can represent data or settings. Do *not* use a programming language, as this can neither be parsed / modified without an foreign interface or using the programming language itself...
Which is painful as fuck for automatisation, scripting and thus CI/CD.
Most important regarding the data format - keep it simple and stupid, yet precise and clean. Do not try to e.g. implement complex types - pain without gain. Plain old objects / structs, arrays, primitive types, simple as that.
No (severely) nested types, no lazy evaluation, just keep it as simple as possible. Build tools are complex enough, no need to feed the nightmare.
Data formats *must* have btw a proper encoding, looking at you Mr. XML. It should be standardized, so no crazy mfucking shit eating dev gets the idea to use whatever encoding they like.
Workflows. You know, things like
- update dependency
- compile stuff
- test run
- ...
Keep. Them. Simple.
Especially regarding settings and multiprojects.
http://lihaoyi.com/post/...
If you want to know how to absolutely never ever do it.
Again - keep. it. simple.
Make stuff configurable, allow the CLI tool used for building to pass this configuration in / allow setting of env variables. As simple as that.
Allow project settings - e.g. like repositories - to be set globally vs project wide.
Not simple are those tools who have...
- more knobs than documentation
- more layers than a wedding cake
- inheritance / merging of settings :(
- CLI and ENV have different names.
- CLI and ENV use different quoting
...
Which brings me to the CLI.
If your build tool has no CLI, it sucks. It just sucks. No discussion. It sucks, hmkay?
If your build tool has a CLI, but...
- it uses undocumented exit codes
- requires absurd or non-quoting (e.g. cannot parse quoted string)
- has unconfigurable logging
- output doesn't allow parsing
- CLI cannot be used for automatisation
It sucks, too... Again, no discussion.
Last point: Plugins and versioning.
I love plugins. And versioning.
Plugins can be a good choice to extend stuff, to scratch some specific itches.
Plugins are NOT an excuse to say: hey, we don't integrate any features or offer plugins by ourselves, go implement your own plugins for that.
That's just absurd.
(precondition: feature makes sense, like e.g. listing dependencies, checking for updates, etc - stuff that most likely anyone wants)
Versioning. Well. Here goes number one award to Node with it's broken concept of just installing multiple versions for the fuck of it.
Another award goes to tools without a locking file.
Another award goes to tools who do not support version ranges.
Yet another award goes to tools who do not support private repositories / mirrors via global configuration - makes fun bombing public mirrors to check for new versions available and getting rate limited to death.
In case someone has read so far and wonders why this rant came to be...
I've implemented a sort of on premise bot for updating dependencies for multiple build tools.
Won't be open sourced, as it is company property - but let me tell ya... Pain and pain are two different things. That was beyond pain.
That was getting your skin peeled off while being set on fire pain.

I‘m currently trying to get an SFTP user for our school's webspace (preinstalled WordPress, don't hate it - it's "great" for non-"it" people) and our network administrator means that he can't create one for me because I would have access to all files on the server.
WTF, you can create SFTP users on Linux and restrict their access and even set a home directory.
Yeah, now we need to forget about themes and plugins in WordPress.
(He said that he also can't create an FTP user)1 -
About a year ago when I started at my apprenticeship I was asked to turn on the plugins for our ecommerce websites... I clicked uploaded price on the 3 websites and 2 ebay stores by accident.... That took a week of going though and changing all the prices back to what they should have been

About the ongoing battle of tabs vs spaces, there is an option in most text editors to convert tabs to spaces ( if you press tab it insert a certain number of spaces ). Use that and you will be fine.
Also if you are contributing to other projects which could be using tabs, there are plugins that will detect if the indentation is spaces or tabs and when you press tab automatically inserts spaces or tabs accordingly1 -
Are there any good plugins/tools or something for visual studio 15 to turn it into a good IDE for PHP developing?
I'm using Brackets now, i tried Eclipse, PhpStorm (too slow and only a 30 day trial) and Atom so far. But idk, theres always something that makes me thinking like "nah.. thats not the right for me". Now i wanted to try VS. I used it for C++ developing and was pretty much in love with it.6 -
WooCommerce sucks, Block editor sucks, Elementor is no better, but if you want a real mess, just add more plugins. Bonus: if you use any "third party WordPress plugin", WooCommerce support can always say, oh yeah, I see that you are using a third party plugin, so we cannot support you, sorry.
Fuck, that's not the kind of front-end development that I was hoping to do in 2023.4 -
If VS code plugins were Pokemon cards, which ones would you choose and what level would they be? ... Ready .... Set ... Go2

So fun fact about message-passing plugin APIs, everything becomes a parallel programming problem. My lexer (the part of an interpreter that recognizes fundamental syntax elements) spawns a callback thread with request and reply channels, and then messages a plugin which is able to either talk to the callback thread or message the original thread with a successfully parsed token or an abort.
It has just occurred to me that plugins are under no obligation to sequence their requests to the callback thread, which means that having one channel for requests and one for responses no longer suffices; the requests need to each contain their response channel. -
Working on a WordPress site for a client after not touching WordPress in a long time. At least they are minor functionality additions, and thank God for plugins...2

Can't figure out how in the hell to use nunjuck templates (or any for that matter) in metalsmith.
I feel like this is a general problem with oh so minimalistic modern projects. They look kinda cool but fail to do their main job correctly and in a flexible manner. This sort of flexible markup transformation just isn't possible to offload entirely to third party plugins and expect them to come up with some sort of compatibility themselves1 -

After a year and a half of semi-depression stuck in a Master Science in SE (while I'm a CS student in machine learning and don't give a bloody fuck about java plugins), I finally decided to switch to a CS major.
No more research money but damn, did not feel that relieved in one year !
Lesson learned : don't pick a job or whatever just because it's better paid ! -
Lesson Learned:Don't update plugins in WordPress without reading the update logs because the update can crash your entire site.2

I've found the right tools and plugins to finish this project in few hours. However, I'm continuously distracted

Is there any good, developer-friendly alternative to WordPress? So sick of plugins that have no API documentation and still use SVN. Working with PHP is seriously the least of my complaints with WP.
Favorite CMS right now is Lektor but it’s not designed for use with clients and I haven’t figured out a quick solution to make it work for that use case. It’s also very lacking in features, so only suitable for very basic content.9 -
Why is Gnome so bad? Had never bigger problems with Unity but this crap? Tried to use it but:
1. UX is crap, annoying animations everywhere, totally bloated
2. Missing for me important features, wasting space
Solution to these? 1 and half million of plugins. Ok
Part 2:
3. Less FPS in games...like 15 or 20 fps but still
4. When I play game in fullscreen and want to change volume on my keyboard the game gets smaller. Da fak?
5. 120Hz and visible stuttering
Solution to these? Use something else.4 -
Updating WordPress plugins and pushing directly through Test to Live without stopping and doing regression tests on Test first. “It’s just Yoast SEO. What could go wrong?”

I haven't checked figma plugins much since their announcement, but holy shit scrolling through the list now is nuts, they have so much goodies, open source, things you had to pop into adobe illustrator first too.3

Fuck Wordpress and all those poorly programmed plugins!!! How the fuck does something, that was magically fixed yesterday, stop working just 24 hours later!?

I just realized: People bitching about JS standard library, bundle size, need to use polyfills etc - is useless IMO. We need to start viewing transpilers as compilers and overall JS ecosystem like we are developing something in ActionScript Flash/Java Applet and exporting it for use inside browsers. And forget about "bad parts" of standard clean JS overall. See clean JS like it's as bad as it was in the past. (because without polyfills you still don't have most of the major es6 features in the IE browsers)
In the past we needed Flash plugins, Java plugins for applets, and they had size way larger than average JS bundle nowadays.
What you think?2 -
Wordpress is such a slow shit!!! It doesn't matter how many plugins for optimization do you use, this shit is always slow! why this kind of tech has to exist in many places of the internet 😒😒6

I can't decide which editor I want to use. I am a die hard IntelliJ suite fan, but want to try something else just for the sake of experience. I'm currently trying VSCode. While I like it, I can't find any DocBlockr type plugins for PHP, only for JS.4

Being in a situation at work where 50% of my time I can work on really exciting new Laravel projects where I got free hands on everything technical. Enjoying this very much. The other 50% is fixing existing broken wordpress sites with like 5 billion plugins. How to write zsh plugins
How to scrape the web(scrape html or sending request)
How to write chrome plugins
How to center a div in different ways
How to write backend codes in js
How to setup an interactive website on a server with domain
But I need more, I need suggestions.8 -
I just recently stumbled over qutebrowser, a keyboard-centered FOSS-browser. It can be used with vim-commands exclusively, so no mouse needed. The only downside is that it doesn't seem to support plugins. Perfect for people like me who keep losing their cursor 😅2

Hey, internet! Does chrome/FF have any plugins enabling any tab to become a monitoring dashboard? I have too many monitoring tools to keep an eye on at the same time... Opening multiple chrome windows and tiling them on the screen is one way, but tile 6 windows and the desktop gets cluttered by taskbars/arrdessbars/other stuff. Doing it all in one tab would save space.
Soo.. anyone knows the right tool for the job? TIA1 -
I was hoping that I never have to build stupid websites again, but here I am...
The thing I hate the most, is the hassle to have an easy to update dev, staging and prod environment. Fuck wordpress, fuck drupal, fuck joomla.
git pull && composer install && npm install should be all that's needed to get the latest code in an environment.
composer require *** to install plugins. No stupid web interface where users install plugins in production env.
I don't want to create database dumps just because these fuckers think that you should store configurations in the database.
Is there any clean CMS primarily for professional programmers? Or are they all just made for retarded subhumans?5 -

Shitty goddamn "Agencies" and the piece of shit WordPress install garbage that comes along with them

Fucking Noooope because the default custom style sheet doesn't get loaded through the garbage theme anymore.
Sure that makes alot of fucking sense sense, idiots added another fucking plugin for Custom CSS ontop of the "Live CSS Editor" ontop of the "Click and Place Builder"
WHAT IN THE FUCK

Ionic-capacitor is just a plugin paywall
They want you to get stuck when using capacitor plugins, they've eliminated the configurations for these plugins so you get stuck and pay for their shitty closed-source plugins.
Don't fall into this trap, don't ever use Ionic capacitor, stick to react-native or even flutter.
If you are going web, then Ionic is great3 -
Never got why react and all those js frameworks are so popular - css and jquery will load faster and do whatever you want them to not to mention all the jquery plugins you can use for free from fancy box to owl carousel. Sometimes i feel techies like something just because its new4

I recently began using plugins for chrome, that darkify the experience. One of them has a developer option, where you install the plugin locally from Github and it's pretty nice to be contributing to a project for once, instead of just creating my own 😊
Even tho I'm the only one who has contributed and the original dev hasn't written any code for the project for last couple of weeks... 😜2 -

I started with cakephp 2. I did a TON of projects with it and made my own reusable plugins for future projects and everything was nice and smooth.
then cakephp 3 came out with breaking changes and was not backwards compatible. I learned the new rewritten ORM and tried to do a project with it along with plugins.
then cakephp 4 came out with breaking changes and was not backwards compatible...
ok... look i dont claim to know more than the people writing frameworks but u want people to use ur framework u cant fuck them up in every major release and render their old projects unupgradable... fuck you im switching to laravel this was the last straw3 -
Vim! Don't need all that shit that other editors bring with them. I like being able to choose everything I want, know it's installed on any box I go to, even over ssh with no gui, and I can write my own plugins if I can't find what I need.

So apparently people use IDA over Ghidra still.
Either they're paying thousands a year for the privelege or they've got a cracked version. Either way, you're getting shafted. Any tips to speed up wordpress site. I have googled and tried as many solutions I can except adding cdn. I have minified images, html, css and js. I have used caching on the server with litespeed cache. There are not many plugins on the site.

I am doing this for a releative(don't worry he is sane and I am doing pretty simple stuff for him which is simply not worth charging). Drupal 8, by far. It recommends you use already existing plugins (and most of them are megamoth shitstorms that do more than you want in a way you don't want) - and make it hard to write your own code. On top of that it has shitty documentation. And it's slow, hard to configure via the menus and makes for countless hours of frustration. Try it out, you'll love it!

@adobe this month got a new update and these are the things you can see now in adobexd.
➡ Free plugins :- Yeah you can add plugins to your adobe xd now using which you can do a lot of stuff like pulling avatars , building icons , getting free ilustrations and much more .

On the bottom click on plugins icon
choose anyone and install .
Really great and handy feature .
