i was browsing tinder and there was a girl with a bio status that said
"if you are in IT, swipe left, get the fuck away from me"64 -
- Think first, write later;
- Do not rush into purchasing servers. You might not need them for another 10 months;
- It takes away a lot of family time to do side projects;
- NOT playing any games saves tremendous amounts of time. Also applies to watching TV;
- If you get stuck - get some sleep. Morning brings you better ideas;
- Write proper abstractions or you'll end up refactoring everything way more often that you'd like;
- Side projects need a loo-ooooot of your will and determination19 -
We have new scrum master. First meeting together.
Project owner:
- I would give them time to wensday (2 days away) days to do migration
Manager:
- delivery is in Tuesday. can we have two teams to work on it so it will be done twice as fast?
Scrum Master:
- do you really think that if you get 9 women pregnant they would deliver you baby in a month?7 -
Colleague (lets call him john) does this sometimes at the moments you least expect it, funny as hell:
random colleague: *walks towards john* hey john, do you have a second?
John: *face turns dead serious/scared* h-h-how do you know my name? 😶
Colleague: hahaha, nice try, I've got this server issu...
John: Who are you? Get away from me 😶
*everyone laughing*
*johns face turns normal again*
John: what's up mate? *biggest goddamn smile ever*6 -
PM: Hey. I need this data right away so I can generate some reports!
/me runs some queries, creates some csv files, emails results
PM: Thanks! I'll look at this after I get back from vacation!3 -
other dev at work: "why cant i switch branch of my SVN repo like Git"
Me: "Cuz it uses different approach, different branches are at different locations......."
Him: "but how can i use it like Git"
Me: "you cant"
Him: "but why"
Me: "Get away from me before i throw something heavy at you"10 -
In my new neighborhood I found this WiFi network which has been protected for so long by just its name "Virus".
Am sure the owner never thought of geeks who instead of running away from" virus" just get closer.
Am ranting using "virus" network7 -
Never gonna git you up
Never gonna pull you down
Never gonna fork away
it's a bad day!
Never gonna git you up
Never gonna commit again
Never gonna get issues
That's how it goes3 -
I wanted to go on a cruise with my programmer boyfriend.
His response?
"I can't be away from work that long."
Not because he'll get into trouble or anything. Oh no. He just loves writing code *that* much. 🙄5 -
If you're stuck....take a break away from the keyboard. Go outside and take a couple of deep breaths. Talk to someone about something not work related. Then get back in and look at the problem with fresh eyes.3

True rant:
A student close to my place ask me to help him install some Software.
Me: Sure this does not take long.
Over to his laptop I noticed this weird popup on screen.
he said: Oh. you just need to click that away. :)
I'm clicking it away and opens up his browser typing in the address bar the search term for the software.
The Laptop quickly copy and paste my search term into a sketchy search website with not correct results..
Then another popup came again on screen.
His response: Oh. you just need to click that away. :)
I'm already internally face palming. but continue my effort to get him his software.
tried different approach on the searching part en trying to click the install button for the software..
and again. my click is high jacketed and it downloads something completely different.
and guess what.. a popup showed up
His response: Oh. you just need to click that away. :)
Stop Molesting your laptop dude! Fix your Shit I'm out!12 -

Best way to get unstuck for me is to walk away, get about 2 fingers of scotch (3 depending on the glass), drink that and wait for the Ballmer Peak.

My girlfriend sat on my lap the other day when I was helping a friend of mine with some assembly code. She look at the code an said
What are you doing?
I explained the code and said that is the lowest you can get before machine code. She didn't run away in fear....
This is a great sign...6 -
Guys, next to the moon right now, Jupiter.
Get away from your pc and. Take a look. Pretty amazing.14 -
Riskiest Dev choice...
Leaving a previous job, moving 1000KM (620 Miles) away with no job prospects and going absolutely broke.
This was all in the name of “I need a better job”, so what better way to force yourself to get one.
I’m currently in my second job since then and now make just over double what I was earning before.
Sometimes it takes a high risk to get out ahead.4 -
As a frontend dev, i love watching our backend devs sometimes go like "hey come on it's just css I can do it real quick, let me do it this time" and get super frustrated with failure. Buddy, one of the reasons frontend is not so easy is that it can be real fucking annoying. I'm keeping my distance and respect for your side so stay the fuck away from my dance floor.7

Well, I made a choice in life.
I'm going to stay and work in America after I graduate. In spite of all the shit talking I've done about its work ethics, benefits, politics, and culture.
This place is still home.
After trying out a trip to Europe for a few weeks I can't handle the idea of being 4,500 miles away from family and what few friends I have. I figured out what was true the whole time: I wanted to run away from my past. Breakups, a failed marriage proposal, a dead end job that I put up with only because I need to graduate. I've been angry and depressed over these things, but running away won't fix it.
I need to face reality and own up to it. I'll get a job as a developer in the states through hell or high-water.5 -
There was this site to get prank software, one of them made the start button run away when the mouse gets near (Windows XP). Watched the IT teacher chase it around for about 5 min before he called the lab assistant to fix it6

As a firm supporter of information security, it really "irks" me to see people get up and walk away form their desks without locking their machines... Anyone else with me on this?!18

Our PM found a contractor, results as expected..
Contractor: "The file you supplied is corrupt, some areas are greyed out and damaged"
Me: "😐, do you mean the comments?"
Contractor: "I'm not sure what you mean 'the comments'"
Me: "Does the file work as expected?"
Contractor: "Yes"
Me: "Strange! I'll have a chat with our PM and get this issue resolved right away 😉"
...
if(!contractor) {
return Promise.resolve()

How do you survive those days of pure despair, when you just want to hide or run away, when everything you do seems meaningless? How do you find the strength to keep moving forward when the voice in your head keeps asking "what's the point?"
I hoped this would go away (or at least get easier) with age, but here I am, almost in my thirties and still haunted by the same thoughts I've had since I was a teenager.12 -
Sometimes I envy frontend developers because the very nature of their role involves rapid change. Then I remember that backend devs can practically get away with murder and the customer will be none the wiser.2

Lesson of the day:
If you're really into a YT video on your laptop while eating noodles and your phone is on vibrate and you know you get scared very easily, keep the bowl away from it. I repeat: keep it away from it.4 -

## WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS FUCKING WORLD?!!!!14 -
Co-worker keeps cursing in Spanish and then smacking the table.
When it happens I have 2 choices:
1. Keep suppressing the rage until I can't take it anymore and book a meeting room just to get away.
2. Ask him to keep it down, to which he replies sorry followed immediately by "can you take a look at this?", which turns into 20 mins of teaching him how to use google.
I'm one bad day away from taking a swing at him.11 -
Secret job interview tomorrow, I've had it with this place and it keeps getting worse. Today they took away the last thing that made it liveable and forced me to have 5 hour longer days for the forseeable future. 3 of them with no extra pay.
I have kids I barely get to see today with longer days I will never see them.
Fuck this, I'm out.13 -
Fun fact you dumbass: YOU 👏🏻 DON'T👏🏻HAVE👏🏻TO👏🏻 REVIEW👏🏻THE 👏🏻PLACE
I get asked to review places I've never been all the fucking time. But like an adult with a BRAIN I swipe away.

“There’s too many Firefox quantum rants...”
Lemme let you in on a little secret:
It’s nothing new, get over it.
Apple released a new phone.
Windows updated.
Samsung or Google releases a phone.
Exam time.
Do any of you see a common theme? It’s the same people posting three metric fuck tons of posts about recent news. Wow, a tech person sharing tech news, imagine that. It’s just a phase, we all notice it. It’ll go away. Thanks. Have a nice day.13 -
Received a call from client complaining about stupidity of google analytics. He could not get pass Terms and Conditions page. Saying "I agree" button is faded away and can not be clicked.
He just needed to scroll the page down.

!rant but nightly thoughts about wrecking clients that won't pay
If you're building something for a client for money, think of a killswitch.
If it requires internet anyway and you have a webserver, do something similar to what the killswitch of WannaCrypt was (but rather checking for a file on the webserver for existing/non-existing). If the client won't pay, kill the application. If the client pays, maybe even deliver a version without killswitch later (as a "bugfix")
If it is some offline project, you can check for a date (payment due date?) and also check for date/time manipulation on the system itself, and disable the killswitch via a "bugfix" version later just like above.
If clients pay, they don't have trouble. Else, they do.8 -
My colleague often forgets to lock his computer when he’s away from it. I’ve told him countless times that he should lock it because of company privacy reasons. Yet he forgets. I’ve started to change his IDE font to Comic Sans lately, the team always gets a good laugh when it happens.
But it’s starting to get old, any ideas of what I can do? 😈18 -

This has repeated for several weeks now :
Monday : 17 issues (aka bugs, incomplete features)
Work work work.
Friday : 7 issues
Nice. Lets get a good weekend rest and finished this next week.
Next Monday : 17 issues.
QA found some new bugs or some already resolved issues came back with different details.

The startup life culture is probably killing a lot of talent and taking away peace of mind.
Everything is needed
- too fast
- to work well
Forcing people to compromise on personal life and health.
It also takes away the interest to work on something as an interesting problem and makes it feel like "just another job to get finished".5 -
My devGoals for 2019 are:
- Move DNS blocking from hosts file to a PiHole (or similar) at home
- Implement a full HAL for some smol microcontroller in C
- Create better automation templates for testing, building & deployment for our Angular projects
- Get rid of crippling depression
- Force my boss away from firebase and google tools in general
- Spread the love for CraftCMS
- Spread more love in general (with protection of course) 😄1 -
Rant for Indians
Who the hell gives you joining in the Diwali week. Half of the office has taken holiday so that they can go home. My orientation/induction might also get cancelled because of lack of personnel. And her i am stuck in a new city away from home for one of the major festival in India.14 -
To the recruiter who "got me an interview," that you knew was 5 hours away for me, on a Saturday, at 9am. I hope you get fucked by a leper horny bear! General recruiting drives from 9-5 are not interviews! I could have shown up anytime, and O was not even qualified! You lied to them about me, and they politely told me to fuck off! FUCK YOU!4

So I signed up for my first hackathon two weeks ago, which is today.
AND YESTERDAY I GET AN EMAIL WHERE THEY'RE LIKE "sorry but there are too many people who signed up so we couldn't sign you up"
WTF
ITS NOT LIKE YOU KNEW THIS TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN THE INSCRIPTION FORM WAS STILL ONLINE (it still is...)
OR MAYBE UPDATE THE FUCKING DESCRIPTION TO TELL THE PEOPLE WHO SIGN UP AND ARE REALLY EXCITED RIGHT AWAY YOU'RE FULL!!!!

Do not steer away from projects using technologies you may not know or be comfortable in. Instead worked your hardest to get it right, ask lots of questions and don't be insulted if people find issues in your code. It's a learning experience.

Best thing about being a mobile developer:
Whenever your elders give you shit for being on the phone too much, tell them that you are testing your app and get away with it.1 -
I spent almost 10 hours coming up with this RegEx. Trial and erroring my way to hell. First I had get rid of the HTML tags (which was easy-ish) then I spent most of my time trying to figure out how to remove the god damn dash but keep hyphenated words ....... Then I found \B and look behinds...
I am making it a point to get good at this shit... Because right now I am petrified of it... Fuck you Regular expression you have taken away all my emotions...14 -

* Get something snitched away from my by cutting in line
* get told by said person that I should have reacted faster
* get told by said person that they'll sell me the the thing that was supposed to be mine in the first place
* get a half assed apology when they saw that they made me mad (still keeping mentioned item)
* Don't get to meet up with friend for workout
* Get home and don't even wanna do anything4 -
Minutes away from Ludum Dare submission closing. Finalizing game build to upload and submit and I get this...!!!

Glassdoor is the perfect example of how annoying, even just opening a website can be, first it asks for your permission to use your location, then half the screen is filled with a cookie agreement and after you clicked it all away, you get a "download our app" filling just 30% of your screen, now that you clicked that all away, you may use the website, ludicrous.
edit: well fuck, just noticed the app message glitched away when taking the screenshot, you get the idea though6 -
I always get yelled at when I make a big deal of having tons of open drinks near expensive hardware, and it gets on my fucking nerves because it is almost always followed by a spill and irreversible damage.
Is it really that difficult to place beverages away from the electronics or maybe close the water bottle after taking a drink?9 -
Apple annual conference.
Do everything that Android, Windows and linux already do almost a decade later and everything is cool again???
I seriously feel bad for the consumers. I can't believe that they get away with this every year.7 -
Once you've been writing code for so long, being excited writing code can go away. I still find that I get the rush when working with a new language or technology. It feels good to be a beginner again 🙂3

Approached by someone who spent £4500 on a CMS that after 5 minutes of looking into the source I realised the dev had used a £68 theme
How do people get away with this?5 -
When you open another persons function to see if there’s an obvious way to get better performance out the the query on to close it and walk away for some coffee and wish you never looked.
If I look at this monster any longer I’m going to be forcing myself not to rewrite it from scratch.1 -
Other Dev: I worked really hard over the weekend to get the issue fixed, I raised a PR but it has a zillion merge conflicts. Would you mind taking a look at it?
Me: Ok. *Changes base branch away from Master.*
Other Dev: Whoa! How’d you fix them that so fast???
Me: Experience.1 -
How the hell does a guy miss a urinal? What the hell? Are they standing three feet (1 meter) away? And who the hell manages to hit the wall above the urinal? Seriously, the floor is a sopping mess. The wall is a sopping mess. Makes you want to hold it in till you get home. Just, yech!5

I went to get groceries yesterday, and it was raining but not hard. No big deal.
So when I pull back into the parking lot at my apartment complex, a large metal object catches my eyes.
"Holy shit I think that's a computer! I better run grab it and get inside to see if I can salvage anything!!"
So I park and run over to it. I get a few yards away from it and see what it actually was..... Someone's nasty ass broken microwave.
I got so excited and it all came crashing down after a few seconds7 -
Sorry mate 😉 can't get away with saying you use Dreamweaver and not expect some evil banter 😈 I mean it's nearly as bad as saying java is javascript15

Ever done that ?23 -
Ffs, I just want to get myself a goddamn domain, why is every registrar so shitty? Each of them has a major downside that makes me go away from their site! Bad payment options, way too high prices for a domain after a year, ...18

Just started as a remote dev and I found that it's IMPOSSIBLE to work from home.
Get annoyed from something not compiling/errors? Go play some video games two feet away. Nothing going your way? Go lie down on the bed behind you.
But for some reason I can work from home way better at night.
Any other tips for working remotely?9 -
I only went and left my god damn bag on the train with my work laptop in it (2016 Macbook Pro, started this job 2months ago...). Why do employers lie during interviews!? Because they can get away with it?
This is my second job after graduating where the job was falsely advertised and misrepresented. I absolutely hate this, it hurts people's careers.8 -
Back in the late 90's when I got started in my career - had a boss that didn't known the difference between Java and JavaScript. I made the mistake of trying to explain the difference. If you can keep the boss in the dark and get away with it - do it. Ignorance is bliss.1

At the end of each day, work out exactly what you need to do next, and then...
...don't do it. Seriously. Make a note of it, save it, then walk away. Then you know *exactly* what you're getting started with the next day, and by the time you've done that you're in the swing of things. (Especially helpful if you're not a morning person like me. Much, much easier to get started if you know exactly what you're doing.) -
"Yeah, I got your e-mail, I see the subject. Oh no, dude, it says urgent so it went straight to the URGENT queue. Yeah? Ah. Well, if you wanted me to read it right away you should've say there's NO HURRY - I read only one no-hurry e-mail a day but there's currently 0 tasks on that queue."

Public service announcement: Wearing club de nuit perfume will have random people get close to you and smell the perfume thus complimenting it but making it really uncomfortable.
My brother in law gifted me this awesome perfume and it has brough upon some very serious awkward encounters.
I know it smells good, and I know I am pretty, but please ma'am I am married and this is weird, get away and ask me. Seriously no one every talks about how dudes get put into weird positions sometimes and I don't like females getting close to me.
I wear the perfume because I like the smell, and I get it, but please leave me alone.6 -

Clients that ask you to build X and then when you ask about said details to know everything up front, you get a deer in the headlights look.
I get it, not knowing right away is fine, but 5-6 months later and still "not knowing", being absolutely lazy with no responses to questions or just dumping the work to me to figure out from whatever source material you got it from and force me to crunch to save your ass isn't fun for me and I really don't give a shit about how much praise you give me publicly for the job I did.1 -
I suggested the other day that devs should not go to every meeting, actually I suggested they should be "sitting with headphones undisturbed" , everyone looked at me like this was absurd.
I wasn't running away from meetings because I suggested I should go to meetings to get requirements and such, instead of the whole team...
Am I missing something?7 -
I'm so fucking depressed. I've get 100/100 and 96/100 in the lastest exams but I can't keep going to the university because I don't have money to travel from my home to the building. I have to throw away my career and knowledge. I don't find a job in this fucking country.
Sorry for boring you with my shit, I had to write it.13 -
Me: It's the weekend, time to step away from the computer for a couple of days, maybe get some fresh air

Watching IT guy on the show "How to get away with murder" explain how to hack:
"It's not that complicated, really. You just download that app from the deep web and worm your way into the phone company's main frame using basic java code. Anyone can learn how to do that."
Thats how you do it! Thank me later.8 -
I forgot to put myself out of office today on our call schedule... Thought I'd get away with it because I shouldn't get calls anyways. Got a call. Not handling it, passed it on, but it woke me up... :(2

Worst and only experience is the reason I moved away from programming...
25 years ago I was hired to copy a phone book list to a access database.
Access back then would create lots of garbage, so I would add 3 to 5 entries before access crashed (shitty p133 laptop with 32mb ram running windows 98.
So I made a visual basic program to add data and work around the problem.
I offered said program to the guy really cheap and would still make it better.
Did also a admin module since he had hired dozens of people and I knew he would have problems peasing the databases together.
And... Dude cancels the deal.
I get a job, 2 weeks later he calls me... Ohhh I don't know how to get all the databases together...
Me: I'm working now, the program I did solved said problem. I trew the code away. Deal with it. -
People: cry how we are in an energy crysis, how expensive Li batteries are, how expensive and scarse are the resources and how wasteful the production process is
also people: pop 500mAh Li batteries in disposable e-cigs that get tossed away in the streets with ~75% of the charge left
me: picks those e-cigs, takes the batteries out, solders them in parallel and makes a proper powerbank for free26 -
why do so many programmers have so little regard for grammar/syntax, spelling and formatting when it comes to written communication?? it's not as though you can get away with ignoring their analogues when coding!4

People think I don't get angry easily at office. I just don't want to get angry, at least in real world.
My mind is constantly clouded with "throwing things away, smashing my computer to crumbs, telling people to go die, fuck off, punching faces, kicking butts, committing murders and nuking the whole world".4 -
I'm just around 8kg away from officially becoming overweight.
As someone who had trouble gaining weight most of my life, this is very exciting!

When i was younger, lesser experienced and more naive than now; i got away with a lot of things. By lot of things i mean security flaws in my applications and overall architecture. I realise now i could've so easily been pawned.
Not that i claim to be totally secure even now, or would ever. It is a process, slow and painful one - Learning.
What i wish to point out is the role of favorable probability (non believers would call it luck). Security is so much about it. You get away with so many things for so long. And bang one day the roll of dice is unfavorable. On such rare occasions, just look back and wonder - damn i should've been breached long ago.rant hindsight security fail looking back security luck vulnerabilities food for thought musings naive probability2 -
Installing Windows on a laptop, it's late in the night here, so I kept that laptop aside and was programming away on my primary laptop, when suddenly-
"HI THERE I'M CORTANA!"
I nearly jumped out of my skin.
Seriously, Microsoft, I like the recent stuff you've been doing but please get rid of that. It's extremely annoying.3 -
The question "are you busy" is the most loaded fucking BS question ever. If you answer and say you're busy you get told that you aren't that busy since you answeted the chat. If you don't answer the messenger blows up your shit asking many more times and possibly even fucking calls you.
If I don't answer, I'm busy go the fuck away. "But it was super important and I needed it fixed right away!" Ok, but when I answered your message just 4 minutes after your originally messaged me don't make me spend another 5 minutes asking for information you knew I was going to ask for and could have provided in one of your follow up messages (Client name, website, page with the problem, description of the problem). Also, don't tell me that it has to get fixed because I'm the one who made the mistake. It has to get fixed because it's wrong, it doesn't fucking matter who made the mistake.3 -
If anything pisses me off more than some random client talking trash about my software bc they don't know how to use it, it is some guy taking credit for someone else's work and get away😡2

Dear bug,
Can you please just go away? I'm away from home right now so I can't do much, I did a lot yesterday to try and get you to leave. Thank5 -
I don't want to work on the project at my job anymore. It's an over engineered piece of shit.
I work on my pet project at home, but only for about 20 minutes at a time. After that, I feel the need to walk away and waste my time with other non-productive activities.
How do I get my love for development back? Has the corporate world killed it?5 -
There's a group of people at my work who have mean girls syndrome.
They think they're cool, but they're actually pretty lame. I'm loving it whenever a junior comes to me because they're fed up with these morons.
Don't get me wrong, I can't do fuckall, but I love to sit and watch the world burn. Hell, I'm waiting for end of contract to get away from this hellhole of a job, this shitty small town and its close-minded people.11 -
My dad always told me to use my head...
Well now its raining and they need to get back home. My apartment is 15mins away from their office by train + Uber...
Their home is a 1.5hr train + car and that's assuming everything runs on time.
Somehow it didn't cross their mind that perhaps they would be better staying over at my place? ...3 -
This is getting WAY out of hand.
So I pay for 100/100 internet right.
I get 3/17...
This has been happening for half a year now...
The closest other ISP is 200km away......
Gonna confront them but they're probably just gonna blame my 2 year old 200$ asus router for being "too old"/"too slow".
😂🔫10 -
Today is the day I get to go on a long and deserved vacation!
I came to work at 5.10 am so I can pour a glass of Lagavulin 16yo as early as possible 🤣
Edit: At the moment im a few SQL queries away from the nectar of gods.2 -
Yesterday all management was sick or away on vacation or training.
All work continued as normal. Everyone is an adult and knows what to do.
Made me question if we actually need to have soooo many people in management positions.
Funny to think that they get paid more.
Ironically when a developer is sick, real money is lost and progress stops in a particular area.
🤔1 -
Traveled 3 hours away to go into the office for the first time in 2 years... just to get a call from the wife that the dog is sick and I need to come home...

My (pseudo)code:
//Cursor1.Open ()
//Cursor2.Open ()
//Cursor2.DoStuff ()

Prof: Why do you have Cursor1 in there if you don't use it?
Me: Because it doesn't compile if I take it out.
Prof: Why?
Me: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I miss the shit I could get away with in grad school. -
Can't get over how many big companies get away with poor/no documentation for their own APIs. The past week i have been working with a large insurance company that only via email threads explained what endpoint to send files to and what username I could use to get this to work.
I also worked with a major courier service last month that only had a two page document for all their methods and one of the pages was explaining the transportation of data via imagery haha.1 -
We’re a young and dynamic team of messy data-scientists who have failed at being employed on the real market. Our experience in losing data and throwing files away is more than amazing! Over the years, we have managed to get rid of so much important data at home and even at work. Pictures of our holidays, important invoices, login details… it’s all gone. So we started to make a business out of what we’re good at.2

Duolingo used to be better. New updates and restrictions are shit. Specially the whole "take a heart away for a mistake, five mistakes and you can't use the app for hours". Like, I get it, you couldn't manage the traffic. But this is ridiculous. Also, where did the lesson overviews go?9

Get a request for commit rights for my container repo; another developer would be lovely. Let's see what they know and want to work on.

They already do. Stay the fuck away from my code. -
I got the job offer XD it's not a big pay increase from what I was making before, but honestly I'd have taken a pay cut to get out of my current fucking job. Hell, I was one more overly dramatic angry email away from quitting on the spot and going to work as a stock boy in some walmart or something.

Recently I have lots of very unproductive days. I m just very tired and even coffee puts me to sleep at work. What's interesting is that as soon as I open something interesting on the web or start working on some new component it all goes away for an hour or so.
So I just wanted to ask you if you have weeks like this.
How can I get myself fixed :(12 -
Business idea:
- Buy some big old computer.
- Sell them as quantum computer.
- Get cash and run away.
Currently this idea may work. 🤔3 -
Girlfriend, family, relatives, non-coder friends keeps ranting why I don't follow a social convention of attending usual meetings or gatherings and advising I should rather get some time away from a monitor screen.

Trend:
The Kiki
- idiots get out of there car and dance with the door open...
Me
- Meh. Ghost riding the whip is old news.
——
New Trend:
The Kiki fail
- people get out and either fail or get betrayed.
Me: now I’m on board.
Great examples seen so far...
1. Women get out dancing, drops her bag (on purpose) in dancing. A motorcycle comes along and steals her purse.
Me: Great. I hope they get away with it too. I like the criminals more than the idiot in this case.
2. Dude gets out and starts dancing. Driver speeds up. The guy holds on to the car telling him to “STOP!”. He stops, the guy goes head first through the window of the driver (its down) and I assume right on his head.
Me: mmmmm delicious7 -
I have a strict rule about putting my computer away by 7pm.
I've found that if I get started on something, no matter how stupid it is, I will stay up all night working on something. If I try to quit, I go to bed and can't sleep because I'm still thinking about it.
Setting a time gives my brain time to let go before it's time to go to bed.2 -
What do you guys do to get away from conputers? I, for one started practicing card magic and i say it's really helped me. Card magic and programming are 2 polar opposites. For card magic, social inter action is necessary while programming gets pretty lonely. Anyways, i'm really curious about your other hobbyes33

Last company where I was hired had the policy to always lock your system when away from it. If you didn't, you would get 'Hoffed' which means that some nice picture of David Hasselhoff in speedo was set on your desktop background. I managed to hoff someone now and then but never got the chance to hoff the only junior dev in our team.
Until one day he was away and didn't lock his system. I quickly wrote a small console app which I installed and added to his user part of the registry. Now he got hoffed automatically everytime he logged on with a random david Hasselhoff picture. Most fun was that he just couldn't figure out how I did that.
On my last day there I told him where to look in the registry ;) -
Why am I annoying to everyone?
As a side thing, why does this guy, who I'm only barely friend day with, keep following me everywhere in school, including sitting next to me with the person I have a crush on, fucking killing the entire hour?
On top of that, I'm trying to stay away from relationships and shit, but this girl is amazing and I get nervous around her as it is. I hate this.4 -

N A N I ? ? ? ? ?
my dad just upgraded our phone plan from like 100 miles away out of nowhere.
turns out with some weird discount it's only $20 more for unlimited than our old holdover-from-2012 plan of "8GB pool for all lines, but the last 4GB is 3G speeds"

When you realize that all those years using windows washed away all your knowledge about using Linux.
I feel like a dumb idiot now while struggling to get shit done on my newly installed mint distro. Younger, I used to read that very fat book my father had on his desk, with all the basics on Linux, I don't have it around anymore.
Any "up to date" good book or website of reference to refresh that rusty brain of mine?1 -

To get into the zone I need 5 minutes to focus, think and lay out a plan. Need a clear schedule the next 4 hours, minimum. Clean desk, headset on, water refilled and a fresh coffee. Away we go.
10 minutes later someone taps me on my shoulder .. fuck!! Every damn time1 -

Just seen the website of a local web agency, poked around through their portfolio and found out that they were using PHP 5 and JQuery 2. For websites opened less then a year ago , and the designs were so bad and old they almost made me cry.
How do they manage to get away with that is beyond me (as it seems to be a quite successful agency)3 -
Going on vacation for a couple of days next week. So, apparently, the people scheduling the on-call rotation think it's a great idea to assign me on-call duty next week.
ME: ...you know I'm going on vacation, right?
THEM: Oh don't worry, nothing ever happens, and 95% of the time it's just this easy stuff that can be dealt with quickly.
ME (internally): ...I was taking this vacation time to get *away* from having to think about work. Now I'm going to have to keep this in the back of my mind the entire time I'm away, checking for alerts, and potentially interrupt my flow to deal with work, defeating the point of why I'm taking the down time.
Fuck this. If I'd known earlier I'd have tried to get the time rescheduled, but of course this happens on the weekend, the day before.4 -

How does everyone stop themselves getting headaches from staring at a screen everyday, all day? Migraines run in my family, so when I get a headache it's always a migraine. To all those working from home...
How do you keep yourself motivated to stick to a schedule?
I've been at this for 7 months now; it was great for the first 2 months, now I can't seem to get my ass together.
I still get my work done, but that's the problem.
Because I'm not motivated to stick to the schedule I've made, I'm chipping away at my non-work time to get the work done.
Any advice?7 -
Do you ever feel like your mind has entered this "hyper" mode where you feel like your mind is in overdrive? Like you're processing several thoughts in your head at once, and that leaves you in a state where you can't get anything done?
It happens to me like once a week and boy is it satisfying when it goes away and I can feel my head cool down.5 -
Why the hell does enterprise software get away with not having basic, logical, functionality?!

Honestly idk but that one chapter from mythical man month, "Plan to Throw One Away", stuck with me:
"Where a new system concept or new technology is used, one has to build a system to throw away, for even the best planning is not so omniscient as to get it right the first time."
In my current project I've seen this play out, initial development was very prototype-ish and just not well designed but when we got a somewhat decent state we had to continue with it instead of starting again and doing it properly. And now the consequences of that are hitting, progress for new features is incredibly slow, the software is very error prone, a bunch of dead code all around, ...10 -
do know that feeling when your dreaming of just getting away for some days? I could use some of your help to get away.

Booted up IntelliJ to find the 2018.2 update just dropped. Took me a moment to get used to the design changes they've made, especially overhauling most of the icons.
Only thing I don't like in this change is taking away the color icons from my tool windows, there was a plugin to fix it though thankfully. I need some color in my workflow!
How's the update treating other jetbrains users? -
I worked on a project that used an archaic homegrown library written by a consultant that had zero documentation, tons of reflection and here is the kicker... the consultant refused to give us the source code as it was "his intellectual property" so we couldn't make any sense of how to actually use it. Moreover, he worked remotely so the timezone difference between us meant that any questions we had took ages to get answered. Glad to be away from that project now.4

I get so irritated when i see people pirate things, i get it, they want it yeah but the fact that someone gets pissed off because i use opensource software, try collaborate and better the software and support by donating some projects. Then they try and convert me to their "copy and paste" mantra. Fuck no.
If only they knew the hours and time given up from their lives, taken away from famillies and social lives developers spend trying to make apps that alfeady makes everyones lives simpler but they dont see that, they are so use to having things given to them they wont realise hoe important it is until it was taken away.
Support the developers because if it was the other way around. Regardless if you wanted it or not, you would like support. We do do this because we love it and with everyones help, we can progress forward together.
I really dont care that i look like as ass to the guy now, i really dont care what takes from it but just venting i guess..1 -

Some malevolent force was hunting me. Lava was spewing from locations and trying to burn me. I knew it wanted to destroy me. I ran, I hid, I flew in order to get away. Finally, I found myself in a crowd of people. The lava, seemingly alive, threatened to kill them if it could not get me. I relented, I scooped up lava on a stick and put it on my hand. I declared, "You did not get me, I chose this." Then I woke up, looked at the clock and saw that I was late for work.
Work is lava today. -

I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to specialize in either front-end or back-end and move away from being a full stack developer. Do you ever get this soul-crushing feeling inside you that says you haven't achieved enough or you don't make enough money?
For context, I've been a dev for 6 years now and make a lot more money than when I started, which was $1000 USD annually. (Third world country).
I used to think that making more money as I grew with experience would drive this feeling away but it hasn't.19 -

the MacBook air I bought a year ago as that was the only I could afford at that point is slowly giving up as this piece of shit lacks any sort of cooling. As soon as Xcode starts , temperatures reach 80-90C and don't even get me started on what happens when I provide builds.
Seriously, how do they get away with providing subpar hardware at such high prices. Their after sale services will literally cost me another MacBook. This "ecosystem" is just not worth it.12 -

The rumour goes that, with meetings with the highest staff, attendees lay their tokens (to enter the building) on the table in case they get fired and have to leave that very moment.
I once had to attend such a meeting as a simple application engineer. They had heard I could "do stuff with SharePoint".
The part about the tokens was a myth but that people get fired right away was not! One did get fired! I shit bricks back then. Especially when I got asked something very ridiculous and impossible... how would I say no?
Luckily I came up with an alternative.
But Damn. .. glad I left that place -
What's your coding fuel? I often have pies at work so I guess that's mine. Aside from coffee of course!
Also damn, Asian noodles are strong! Got some imported ones from a local Spar. Decided to try the spicy one first since I'm not usually a spicy food guy. I couldn't get more than 3 bites in before I had to throw it away. Decided to have some of the Rice vermicelli I made instead.24 -

Learning Java for the new position I start in a lil over a week. Biggest struggle migrating from PHP is wrapping strings in quotes ONLY...no apostrophes lol. I guess I formed a bad habit. Wk25: Objective C. I was working on a project for a plugin, the host for which was in objective C. Basically the language lets you get away with arbitrary code injection and runtime inspection of everything. You can print class names, function names and variable names, then use all.

I was half expecting to find FallbackRootBaseCompositeUrlProvider!
Not only that, but there were a load of interfaces that sometimes didn't match the name of the class!!!
For example,
class RootUrlProvider : ICompositeUrlProvider
Ugh! But I managed to get the new feature in... Somehow... After trying something... Throwing it away... Trying something else... Throwing it away...

So, the other day, I was transferring some files from my phone to my girlfriend's phone via ShareIt. The size more than 1 GB. As the files started transferring, she snatched her phone away from my hand and closed the app. I was shocked and asked her why she would do something so freaky!
Her reply: "My data balance is less than 1GB. I didn't want it to get over! You should ask me before you do such things!"

"I want us to work organized as kanban!"
"But scrum works fine, we just have to resharpen our work with the process."
Me - completely calm:" it hardly matters, if have shit wrapped in green paper instead of blue paper. It's still shit."
Remember: sometimes all you get is crap, you still have to deal with it, you can't always procrastinate them away, aspecially with organisation changes1 -
Anyone else pissed off by the lack of screenshots on tutorials that tell you how to change display language on things? No?! Just me then..
Happened once or twice I needed to change display language from xy to english so I know what am I clickin.. and tutorial was all like 'go to menu tools settigs and find the language settings under advanced tab'..

Do people know of good resources (books, blogs, YouTube channels, whatever) regarding advancing to the higher levels of the tech industry?
I can find lots of resources for how to get started in your career but as I've advanced it gets harder and harder to find guidance (this is not surprising, but still lamentable). I am currently one promotion away from Senior at my company and I have no idea what to expect beyond that.
Any suggestions?2 -
How come big tech companies get away with stealing and modifying other people’s great ideas and incorporating them into their existing giant platforms thereby stifling the start-up with the original idea?
Why do we clap when this happen?3 -
On vacation today but forgot we had a board game team activity planned so went to the office anyway in the afternoon (love me some board games) and instantly get pounced by people pleading for help. The build machine had imploded and the deploys broke, because of course it does that when you are away.1

Having a coffee machine right in your office (and not in the 20m far away kitchen area) is both blessing and curse. Sure, you have the coffee within your reach almost without having to stand up.. but you also get the "benefit" of incessant visits of your colleagues from other offices talking various shit and keeping you from work..4

So i finally get offered an internship at an awesome company by its owner but now its 20km away frm whr I live nd its unpaid so I'll hav to figure out hw im gna fork out transportation money5
-
Hi guys, this is my first post, I am currently doing an internship as a backend intern and I'm constantly anxious if I'm good enough I come from a no name college and everybody here is from a top tier college and I constantly worry that I am not on an equal footing as other interns.
Make no mistake I work hard, yet I start to feel insecure. I hope this feeling goes away when I get more experience.13 -
Figma dev mode sucks so hard I dont get why people seem to like it so much.
It was working fine before and now I have to throw away my complete workflow because of their bullshit beta.
They stripped many features which were working fine before for their fancy bullshit.
Instead of fixing existing issues they just add new bugs.
I cant even get the distance between two elements.
Fuck you Figma.2 -
I get this pain in my shoulder after a few hours of coding. It can last for weeks if I don't stay away from the computer. What do you guys do to prevent shoulder and neck pain?4

Any native app devs know if this is possible, before I go away and start messing about with shit.
I want to build a companion native app to my web app for the sole purpose of receiving in app push notifications.
So you set all the shit up on the web app and then the native app is just to get push messages. I currently send sms messages with the Twilio API but would rather the app solution.1 -
I didn't do it but one of my coworkers when he was new left his desktop unlocked while stepping away from it for a while. Another coworker changed the keyboard layout to Dvorak and locked it. The guy had to had to use his phone to look up Dvorak to get his desktop unlocked.1

I was in a okay mood. Then i drank. I had fun skyping with some people (dont judge, it was their choice). Now im drunk, alone and getting more and more depressed.
Im honestly considering going to McDonalds and give away a few rubber ducks and show some card tricks, maybe ill get some friends. Or haters.
Conclusion: I hate when i get drunk. When im sober, i cant wait to get drunk. This isnt even a conclusion, i have no idea what im doing.12 -
What are your suggestions for notebooks with metal /Aluminium cases?
My MacBook Air won’t live much longer and I wanna get away from apple.. however, a robust case is important to me..
Maybe a ZenBook?18 -
Am I the only one who gets stupid nervous for interviews, I always get the hand shakes real bad about T-20 before the interview then they go away about T-5 before the interview. Doesn't matter what I am interviewing for, every time.6

Why does it have to be so difficult to get unit tests to run? Spent about an hour yesterday trying to get a single test class to run and it kept complaining about a compiler error in a completely different module. Went to the file and there was no error. WTF?!
In the end, checking the “delegate build actions to gradle” box made it go away. why..... -
“Oh lie and let us get away with stuff by giving us total control over what you remember so we can bamboozle you and you can look like you’re either weak or complicit“ oh yeah great idea.
Get right on that .
Far as I can tell you people are all permanently crazy because you all do just that
And your balls are gone9 -
thought will get a good job just by computer science degree, 2 years in and my misconception faded away T_T6
-
Tfw can't get internships on topics I'm really good at but get shortlisted right away for some internship for which I have no skills whatsoever.
-
It took me 48 hours ( not continuously) to fix a bug by going through a cluster fuck code of multiple modules. Tracing the error through 5 or 6 layers. And u dont get error logs right away. You need to recreate that error and see the logs on a kubernetes pod. Just to find out the bug was a duplicate.
Yes jokes are on me. I fucked up by not checking for duplicate. I steered right away on that shit dipped bug like a hungry/zombie hound. Fuck me. -
Fuck away from me And Get FUCKED.
FEels so fucking good fucking off other companies who try to contact me first and give me an interview JUST GO FUCKING FIRSR YOUR DADS ASSHOLE TILL HE SHITS IN UR MOUTH FROM THE SUPER MASSIVE GIANT SHITHOLE FUCK YOU FUCK OFFF5 -
Sometimes I wonder how big it companies with more then 500k net worth get away with bugs in their webapps.
In my company we also have bugs but I am the only dev and we won't hit the 100k Salesmark with our software.3 -
I figured out a workaround the coronavirus shit and to protect myself in public.
Instead of wearing medical masks (like all the sheep out there), I am gonna be wearing a gangsta-style bandanna.
It covers face and mouth. BUT most importantly it will scare people away and no one would get close so i will be practicing social distancing everywhere I go using nothing but the power of fear and stereotypes.6 -
Where to begin?
- I purposely overestimate because I can get away with it in current job
- I test in production like 50% of time in current job
- I deploy during working hours
- My javascript is a sphagetti monster in current intranet implementation and I am sorry for the next future maintainer after I'm gone...1 -
K, how to get started with HTML, CSS and JS basics? I want to get started right away and would like to have something like a reference tutorial, with short helpful code. Nothing like a course or something. Hope you can help me.3

The way to avoid procrastination is to understand and use what your mind is trying to do - give itself instant gratification.
I use this method:
Step 1: Prepare your workspace in every way possible.
Step 2: Leave. Go do something fun for 20 minutes or so (yes, procrastinate on purpose). Get your mind calmed down and get rid of the anxieties about starting by just not starting.
Step 3: Sit down in your prepped environment, free of distractions and with a calmed mind, and pick a task to start hacking away at. -
Hours away for 2016 to come to an end and I still can't decide if I should finally finish my side project or get more sleep.

how to get rich: step 1: sell your organs; selling your organs is a quick and efficient way to make money, the more you sell=the more you make.
step 2: tax evasion; just stop paying taxes, why give away your money when you can just keep it?
step 3: print money; why get a job when you can just print money? say goodbye to that annoying 9-5!
step 4: invest in the cryptocurrency $bigblackballs. $bigblackballs is the new bitcoin! it will take over all other cryptocurrencies in the market and make everyone rich. $bigblackballs to the moon! get on the wave while you still can.
thanks for reading, hopefully, you learned something from this tutorial!!!!7 -
Okay is it just me but whenever I open a picture on devRant and then when I want to close it I swipe down and it doesn’t go away and I get pissed off each time3

Am I the only one that feels like the development and software engineering will loose the high paying benefit soon? Remote work normalised hiring developers from farther away. I've been approached by quite a few recruiters that want to hire from much farther away then usual. It seems like only a question of time untill most of the things will be outsourced to third world countries where developers get paid basically nothing. Sure they were usually a worse choice in the past, but it always gets better with time. I'm sure that there are a lot of vry smart wngineers there. Why pay your developer 50-90k/year when you can pay 10k/yr for two developers in India?
We're also automating ourselves out of jobs with all these no code platforms. Thoughts?8 -

tl;dr Which new laptop + Linux distro combo should I get when seeking for minimal configuration and maintenance hassle?
Hey devRant gang!
I'm looking for a new laptop: which one is supported out-of-the-box by Ubuntu based Linux distros like Elementary OS?
Why Elementary OS you ask? Well, I want to move away from macOS and/but keep the minimal (and pretty) design/interface!
But: I don't want to waste time configuring stuff after install or a kernel update. I don't have time for that: I need to get shit done.
As much as I dislike closed source/evil corporate stuff the fact of the matter is that my MacBook Pro Just Works (and lets me get shit done).3 -
Anyone else get the feeling that you're whiling away your weekend when you could be getting stuff done that you found important/likeable? It sucks to realize you get 32 hours of waking time and not one meaningful ("important but not urgent") thing gets done in that time.5

Does anyone know if there a way to use 'wifi calling' on your computer, not just on phones?
Also known as:
Generic Access Network
Or
Unlicensed Mobile Access
I would love to use a raspberry pi zero w with wifi calling, so i get away from normal mobiles8 -
WTF new Chrome devtools breakpoints faded away and put inline within the code and for every one you set you get extra 3 for free... ???1

Walk away get a break. Hit coffee or table tennis, than come back on the problem. I am assuming you already googled before leaving.

Left my job a couple of years ago but kept them as a client when I opened up my own shop. Great financially but fuck me it feels like I still work for them. Almost want to take another fulltime gig just to get away from them.

So first, I haven't finished my CS degree
Currently working in CS position ( didn't lie... degree was pending told them as such, still hired me)
Currently getting offers from other companies.... Kinda want to transition but scared to get turned away for lack of degree.
Basically completed portion of degree, but have grown disinterested in completing ....
What do you guys think? Still finish?? Or use my current experience to move forward??3 -
Is freecodecamp frontend certificate worth something in the community, I am about get mine soon only two projects away...5

A lot of us get imposter syndrome in this industry. I still get it on a regular basis.
You can't wait until things are perfect. You have to launch imperfectly, but with confidence that you'll get where you need to be. But then imposter syndrome sets in. Self doubt tells us we don't belong.
I found this quote in my email pile this morning:
"Isn't doing your best all you can do? Dropping the narrative of the impostor isn't arrogant, it's merely a useful way to get your work done without giving into Resistance. Time spent fretting about our status as impostors is time away from dancing with our fear, from leading and from doing work that matters." - Seth Godin -
How do you usually handle an argument? Do you prefer not to get involved completely or do you choose to go "back and forth" until you and the other person comes to an (understanding/standstill)??? For me personally, conflict is like stepping on a nail. You can't smoothen a sharp tip, otherwise you're gonna get scratched. All you can do is try to move around it. I say what I have to say and then I'm done!!! If my opponent tries to keep going, I cut them off. Either one: block their number/media account... Two: hang up the phone while they're talking! Or three: get up and walk away ....1

One reason I hate working on hardware and prefer software. Spent all weekend trying to get this Canon photo printer to work with a raspberry pi for a photo booth project. Tried multiple cables, compiling the latest cups and gutenprint, etc. Only could get it to print via wifi. Finally, I go to the store and buy a new micro USB cable and it works right away. 😠2

First day at the new building during my Monday hospital IT job. My boss went on about opening portals in time, aliens, all kinds of shit, then I get a call, "hey, we need help carrying a body to the morgue, get up here", turns out i'm lookout and forward-runner (lookout to keep patients away from the room during cart loadup, forward runner for doors)
I hate Mondays...4 -
I dont get why companies shy away from proper source managment and devops it just sounds like managmentheaven:
Your developers would write down every single thing they did in nice and easily quantifiable units of work, with then they did it exactly to the minute, and with CI/CD patches could be released directly after being tested. And tests mean the devs even safe some QA time.2 -
Dumb asshole lays a half smoked joint near me

I know Ruby but I never do Rails, and I want to get started. Should I start with Rails path straight away in The Odin Project? Or should I find other resources to get started instead?

Hey guys )
Hope all of you are having a great time )
I've been away for a while tryin to "finish" my personal website and now I think it's more or less "finished".

IN THE NAME OF ALL THATS GOOD AND HOLY TELL ME HOW TO GET AWAY FROM THESECREATURES AND MOVE ON WITH FUCKING LIFE AND KEEP THEM FROM STEALING PROGRESS LIKE THE SUICIDAL STUPID CAPRICIOUS CHOMO PERVERTS THEY ARE !!!3

So I thought I'd ask this in a different space. What do I have to do to ? Suck someones dick or something to get away from the chomos and their twisted whorelings ? Being around this is worse than being aware of how fucked up people can be.
Do I have to murder people ? I mean explain what I have to do to get away from you bastards.
Because I look shortly ahead and see theft of property once more and I'm trying to move on not see time end around a bunch of animatronic dummies who's unnatural appearance makes me act like a dummy and btw if your idea of 'good' is 'yeah turn a blind eye to us being robots and let us rape our kids in peace' fuck you people.2 -

Ya boy is now officially an intern! I'm starting next week, everything is sorted except one thing: we have to bring our own computers and basically get to use whatever software we want. I've got a fresh install of Mint and was wondering what IDEs or editors everybody here uses (and recommends), since I only really have a bit of experience with Atom and Netbeans, and I don't think I'll be able to get away with coding in Notepad++ or Gedit here.12 -
If you got the chance.
Always improve your iteration times!
The faster you can go from change to result. more things could get done.
And more time is left to work on other tasks that always get pushed away.2 -
To the ranter who posted the picture of he spider, I love you as a fellow ranter but FUCK YOU! I SEE IT, MY PUPILS CONTRACT, I GET ITCHY, AND I SCROLL AWAY!!!
I didn't thumbs down because I kept scrolling away and assuming it would go away! 3 times it got me!! -
Damm bro life kinda suks now. Gonna move to Iraq or summin get away from these bafoons. Protocol 61 the snakeskin is shed.4

Write C++ like it's Python, write Python like it's C++.
C++ everyone else has to use types so you can get away with auto and the compiler will tell you when you've done something wrong. Python, nobody else has to use types so type everything and let the static checker tell them when they've done something wrong so they don't pester you. -
Does anyone use routerhosting?
Routerhsoting seems to be the cheapest of all but in quality I am not sure, anyone used them before?
For sure they are the good choice if I'm trying to get away from Bluehosts or digitalocean since they are expenesive. But in temrs of qulity and since I am looking for a dedicated server I am not sure.3 -
I am not exactly densensitized.... I still get mad and am bothered by the subject but it’s more like irritation or stabbing woeful sadness that takes away joy from seeing what you people are
So yeah I’m pretty desensitized21 -
Is LinkedIn actually any good?
Never used it and now that I'm a few months away from graduation I might just start. devRant is usually straight to the point about these things, what do I get out of bothering to use it?8 -

What everyone needs to remember is there is never a time when I’m not starting to remember or remembering or just in an elevated state of I know you’re up to something so if you al think you’re able to get away with things over and over again you’re looking at this wrong
I’m being given literally an opportunity for revenge every day multiple times a day8 -
I have this recurring dream of waking up in a Chinese hospital and the nurses attempting to kill me. Gives me a pill, says they are "vitamins" and then I get paralyzed after taking it. I'm trying to run away from the hospital while but unable to move a muscle.
Anyway, I got banned on Instagram for saying "Gas the jews" on a someone's live.3 -
I am not so sure about what I am going to do after high school.
I have been working part time as a backend web developer, and I think that the experience combined with my profound interest in the subject has made me quite good for my age.
I also took part in national and international coding competitions.
I am writing all this to prove that, although I am no genius, I have a decent enough curriculum to get a job as soon as I am out.
The problem is, (please save your insults for later) I want to be a Java developer. I just love the syntax, the and the code just forms in my head better than the other languages.
Up until a few years ago I wanted to go to uni and get a 5 year degree in computer science - and I would still like to do so if it is going to help me get away from web development, and I would get lear lots of cool stuff in the mean time.
My question is: should I study computer science?
If I don't get, I could go choose engineering with computer science focus in another uni, but should I? Should I just get my job to full time and wait the next year?
Will studying in uni get me a better paying job, or some sort of tangible improvement over just working right away?
I am very interested to hear your opinions, and sorry for the long post :)2 -
I've been trying to dual boot Linux with Windows 10, but the installer isn't detecting my main drive. I've heard it's because my SATA mode is on RAID and I need to change it to AHCI, but is there a way that I can get away without doing that?2

Few years ago, people tried hard to keep the bots away from their site. Now, everyone wants to get a bot out of their site.
