Yet another commercial seminar upset I won't give up a day of my time to fly to the UK to speak at the event for no payment or reimbursement for my travel.
But of course I should think about the exposure and networking opportunities! 😕

Is it weird that whenever a slightly dodgy site asks for my address, I give the address of the prime minister:
10 Downing Street
Westminster, London

Do you ever wonder why the UK public sector has such a bad computer system? This! This is why!!! What a frigging waste of money!!!! Every computer in the school has this stupid set up!!!

For the love of dog, if I select English on your online store, it doesnt mean I live in the UK, therefore show me prices in £ pounds, It just means I cannot speak German but I need to read English, but pay in € Euros!!! Can people please stop confusing Language with Location!!!!6

I'm currently freelancing abroad.
I don't get the UK Salley but I don't pay the UK prices.
I get to travel, see the world and support myself.
Much more valuable then any high end wage to me.

Someone registered a company in the UK to reap havoc on government and directory sites.

Sometimes I feel I'm the live version of stack overflow for my family and friends...
Mom: The printer is acting up, how do I fix it?
Brother: I can't login to Netflix, help!
Grandparents: could you fix the radio/TV?
Gf: Apple can't validate my .uk mail
All to which I replied with the answer to life, the universe and everything...
FUCKING GOOGLE IT! Have you googled it?!
And the inevitable reply: no.
The only ones who get a free pass are my grandparents they were born in the 40's and think YouTube works on voodoo.7 -
National Health Service (nhs) in the UK got hacked today... Workers at the hospitals could not access patient and appointment related data... How big a cheapskate you gotta be to hack a free public health service that is almost dying for fund shortages anyway...16

Big day today for the UK. I hope we stay, the future's bleak if we don't. I'm IN. Damn those outers.33

So 10 months ago i moved from Cambridge (UK) to Guildford (UK), due to moving this distance i started working from home and going into the office once a week.
Now after 10 months i have finally got my home office how i first imagined it. Everything runs from my laptop which is located on the shelving unit away from my desk. Everything plugs into it via 1 USB lead.
Setup:
27" 2560 x 1440 monitor flanked by two 1280 x 1024 monitors.
Asus Laptop (i5-6300HQ, 12GB ram, 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD)
Home PC (i5-7600, 8GB ram, GTX 770)
Accessories:
StarTech USB hub - This allows me to plug my three monitors, keyboards, mouse and everything else into my laptop.
KVM switch - Allows me to swap between my Work PC and Home PC with a click of a button

--- UK Mobile carrier O2's data network vanishes like a fart in the wind ---
One of the largest mobile carriers in the UK; O2 has been having all manner of weird and wonderful problems this morning as bleary eyed susbcribers awoke to find their data services unavailable. What makes this particular outage interesting (more so than the annoyingly frequent wobblers some mobile masts have) is that the majority of the UK seems to be affected.
To further compound the hilarity/disaster (depending on which side of the fence you're on), Many smaller independent carriers such as GiffGaff and Tesco Mobile piggy-back off O2's network, meaning they're up the stinky creek without a paddle as well. Formal advice from the gaseous carrier is to reboot your device frequently to force a reconnect attempt, Which we're absolutely sure won't cause any issues at all with millions of devices screaming at the same network when it comes back up.
Issue reports began flooding DownDetector at around 5am (GMT), With PR minions formally acknowledging the issue 2 hours later at 7am (GMT) via the most official channel available - Twitter. After a few recent updates via the grapevine (companies involved seems to be keeping their heads down at the minute) Ericsson has been fingered for pushing out a wonky software update but there's been no official confirmation of this, so pitchforks away please folks.
If you're in need of a giggle while you wait for your 4G goodness to return, You can always hop on an open WiFi network and read the tales of distress the data-less masses are screaming into the void.3 -
I've secured my first software developer job at a large bank in the UK after doing Java Developer training for the last 3 months. I'm so happy!2

Did you hear of the story of the fucked up data migration at the british bank TSB? People can't access their money for a week now. And people see the accounts of other bank custumers. The CEO had to call IBM for help.

I'm from the UK. My CS teacher took a dislike to me in junior high school, dissuading me from taking the classes I needed to take computer science at college. I ended up starting an economics major and then dropping out.
With the support of my family and friends I started over as a self taught as a developer.
I'm now a Tech Director in New York and love my job.5 -
I fucking hate it when developers don’t respect user locale. My phone language is UK English, my Discord app language is UK English and my region is UK.
Then why the fuck is Discord showing me MM/DD/YYYY date format? How hard is it to pass locale when parsing time?15 -
This is not an interview test just an awkward experience in general regarding interview.
This happened two years ago when I was a fresh university graduate looking for a job in UK as an immigrant (Im EU national).
Went to an interview for a web dev+tech support position. Two fat guys with tshirts met me and started interviewing me for a sysadmin position. Started asking me about disaster recovery and stuff.
Turns out recruiter messed up not only companies but positions as well. Also these two guys didnt bother to check anything.
I pulled out the job ad for which I applied originally, interviewers had a look at it and still proceeded questioning me while knowing that I prepared for completely different position interview.
Needless to say, it went terrible and I didnt get the job. I dont know if its just me or Im unlucky, but I had a lot of encounters in UK with so many incompetent recruiters.3 -
Is there an English (UK) option for writing CSS properties? I could never get used to writing "color" all the time 😧23

I got my job because I've been myself. As soon as I laughed with the interviewers I knew I got it.
They choose you for a interview out of all the other CVs because they hope you know your stuff. Proof it! And most important - show your character. Don't be a blank paper! Make fun with them. Or at least leave some kind of positiv impression.
The funny part:
I applied for jobs in Austria while doing my Bachelor degree in the UK. Over Skype they had no idea I was wearing sweatpants.1 -
This is horrifying. Testing code seems to have been an afterthought that ended up ruining dozens of peoples’ lives.

If living and working in the UK wasn't hard enough as is for a student. This now happens and has, pretty much, screwed everything over.
Promoted lies, PM stepping down, value of pound dropping.
All going great! ☺️🔫4 -
So today I started editing my CV because I want to apply for an internship in the UK; and because I've already got a Dutch CV, I just opened that document and started working from there.

My fucking awesome ass JS #SwagDuckie arrived!
Awesomeeeeeeeee!
Also, stickers arrived the other day. I ended up mounting them on Black because the Apple logo shining through annoyed me 😊
Now I need a vinyl design that looks like a duckie for the back of the laptop.
Thanks @dfox, @trogus; international shipping to the uk was remarkably fast, I was shocked.

Coding has given me the ability to turn my favorite hobby into a career. This in turn gave me the chance to take jobs in three countries so far (US, Germany, UK). So, I can explore the world with lovely wife while doing something I'm really passionate about and constantly learning. It also allows me to relate more to my dad, a software engineer of about 30 years who got me started when I was a kid.
In short, coding changed everything for me.
PS: I met my wife in intro to CS, though she's not a developer. -
I just got a call from the UK. When 7 picked up, the lady said "Hello Edwin, how are you?". I never replied and just hung up.
I don't know how the fuck she got my number and name right? I know my name is public but my phone number is not.17 -

The worst mistake I have ever made was working for UK web design agencies.
No appreciation for their staff and honestly the worst working environment I have ever witnessed.4 -
Can I just say, this community is awesome. All Dev talk, all the time. It's like Facebook but not complete s***!
PS: UK Dev rant meet up has to go down. We can't have the yanks outdoing us.6 -
So, we’ve a small UK based dev team, we follow good practices and get good results. But ‘they’ want to deploy quicker (it was suggested we skip the test phases...) but don’t want to invest in more staff.
So their suggestion is to outsource development to Bangladesh and have us in-house devs work on discovery and innovation.
I’m uncomfortable with this as it feels they are thinking they can get quicker and cheaper dev done abroad (which I hate as it feels disrespectful to my fellow dev brothers n’ sisters).
Also disjointed as in my experience planning and dev’ing work best when you can talk face-to-face.
Thoughts?

Just saw a role advertised for a front end developer. Skills required amongst other things·
· Integrating with middle-tier microservices such as NodeJS
· .NET Core (2.1+), C# 7.0+ and JAVA
· SQL Server, T-SQL, MySQL
· Azure Dev-ops
There are other standard and expected front end requirements but want someone with 4+ years experience
Salary £19,000 - less than two thirds of the national average salary for non UK folks.
Applications: 0
Hmm I wonder why6 -
Hi devRant!
I take a CS class in the UK and can not believe how people use technology. Almost everyone is using smartphones and stuff but somebody can't get out of fullscreen in chrome.
He thought he broke the computer smh2 -
I’ve only just been able to catch up with the UK news and the government missed ~16,000 cases of COVID-19 over a 7 day period due to a “technical glitch”.
The “technical glitch” was the government using an excel spreadsheet that reached the data limit.
Who the fuck thought that was a good idea long term, that’s why databases exist!!!!8 -
Trying to solve complex problems requiring a focussed mind is hard when it's hotter in the office than outside. And outside it hit 30℃ today.

Whilst on vacation in the UK, I came across a store that sold Kinects for 2.50 £ each, as no one would buy them. I couldn't resist and bought three of them, I have one more at home.

My current idea is building a 3D scanner for humans 🤔

Switching jobs which is also remote and more pay, also moving out of London because it's become absolutely horrible here 🥳10

So back on November 7th I received my Xbox one x project Scorpio edition, unfortunately the model I have suffers from some sort of defective thermal paste and after a good couple of hours of elite dangerous at 4k, it shuts itself down and I have to wait overnight for it to work again. Microsoft said if I send them it they'll give me a new one in about 2 weeks, my solution is to hold it outside my window for 5 minutes to cool it down. God bless the cold of the UK.

Some time ago, I asked DevRanters if you would use US or UK version of word.
Most of you said, whatever.
I just found case for using both :D

Wanted to move to London out of curiosity/adventure. Started doing interviews online and all companies wanted a stage 2/3 in person but that would've been a pretty expensive flight just to go on a short interview, especially with my budget back then.
The guys at my current company were pretty cool and instead we did more video calls and coding tests, then they offered me the job without having to do the face to face.
Had a week to pack up and move here. Never had been in the UK before that. I arrived in the evening, slept at my temporary accommodation and went to work next morning. That's basically how I got here :)3 -

Certainly considering handing in my notice soon.
1. Paid minimum wage with no prospect of a raise
2. Spending £200 a month on travel
3. Traveling for almost 4 hours (70 miles) a day on bus and train
4. Promised training but nothing produced for 8 months
5. Expected to now pay for further travel
6. Not taken seriously...

Had to ring the UK tax office, have to pay a sizeable amount by 31st Jan, but I have spent any savings on essential living based shit. I was dreading the call, but best to do it before 31st or you get an instant £100 fine. Well I was totally shocked to find a really lovely lady on the other end, she was most helpful and not like the cunt I got a few years back. It just goes to show that two people doing the same job with the same procedures and outcomes, 1 can be a complete cunt and the other kind and compassionate. Moral, there’s no need to be a cunt.

Why can we all relate to almost every rant for wk24?

I hate IT managers, how on earth some become ant form of manager is beyond myself.
I have a server with a hardware firewall. A client, based in the UK, with French offices is saying the server blocking their new French IP. I white-listed their IP address, still no luck.
That was a week ago.
After 4 international phone calls and nearly 30 emails I resolved the "issue".
Their so called "IT Manager" sent over the wrong IP. Instead of it starting with 46.* he sent over an IP starting 42.*, which was in fact being correctly blocked.
Suffice to say I charged the client a lot of money for the wasted time and international rate calls.

Is This Sexual Harassment!?!?
I won't publicly reveal who is the other person in this convo. I just want genuine opinions.
For reference, the convo started in another language, and quick mention of their fondness for my eyes... i simply ignored with 'lol' and chatted on and off for some hours... next time it was in english with use of " darling", which I simply stated wasnt something anyone who knew me would say.
they claimed it was just british... it's not. I actually use UK spellings due to working for years for UK based companies.
back in the other language... ' angel' , 'princess', *some equivalent of a small rabbit*,...me once again, more directly, asking why and saying no/they are irrelevant to me, to each.
the next part was hysterical, but to not out the person or skew opinions, that's being omitted.
the following came after me running out of time so it needed to be a call or i needed to mute them. they got muted.
SOOO,,,,
IS THIS SEXUAL HARASSMENT???
my dev friend/partner and I can't find the right term for wtf this is... which is odd as we both have an extensive vocabulary and are highly specific.

We have been given two Spanish exchange students for 10 weeks. We are a UK based creative agency, the minor issue being they don't speak a word of English, so there is a significant language barrier.
What would people recommend for a way to help them learn some basic languages e.g HTML, CSS etc.. with such a significant language barrier.
(Already tried Google translating everything)
With my strong Yorkshire accent, my Spanish doesn't come out too great 👌4 -
If you ever think you are useless, remember there is a language change option on Fast.com.
It even has UK and US English variant.10 -

HELP ME OUT BRUTHA AND SISTUR..
I've finally finished my website - now's the time to do the tedious thing and get a decent hosting for as little money as possible.
Does anyone know a hosting that has:
- High privacy ethics (not that I'm gonna store porn there, just my screenshots posted via ShareX)
- VPS-based hosting I can put a nice Linux on.
- Unlimited or 'really high' bandwidth.
- Located in Europe (UK included lol).
I would be most thankful :P24 -
So as some of you may know from my previous rants I am recently single, and it occured to me that that means I can move, like, anywhere. And I think I might just do that. I'm currently in in Utah, USA, living about 50 miles from where I was raised, and I'm kinda sick of it.
Sooooo... Suggestions? I have been thinking about maybe the UK or Germany, or if I stay in the US maybe San Diego, Denver, or New York City, but I am open to many possibilities. What do you guys think?14 -

My decision whether to move to the US vs. the UK/EU will be primarily be driven by ability to attend rock/metal concerts and access to art/travel/culture/diversity.
If I am happy and living a stress free life (stress free == balancing stress with doing something that I love), then I'd be able to perform better with a clear mind and grow well.

- USB wired
- easy to clean and maintain
- must last for more than 3 years9 -

Last night I had about 5 hours sleep and have been worried over general UK politics lately.

Here's an idea:
What if we bundled swag store orders to a particular country so the cost of shipping everything gets spread across?
Although I don't live in a central area of the UK, I'd volunteer to receive multiple orders and then further post them to their final destinations. Posting locally is definitely cheaper, so if the math is done right, everybody wins.

Bought myself a standing desk (one that rests on top of an existing desk), a new chair with good lumbar support and a few other office bits and pieces before the end of the tax year in the UK. I didn't think I'd be able to put them through my Ltd Co next year because of IR35 changes, but they have been delayed now.
The only thing I don't have yet at home is dual monitors. Otherwise the setup feels great. 30 Mins sitting followed by 30 Mins standing is doing wonders for my old back

Old boss: I still don't understand why we need to purchase Mac.

SharePoint got axed in my prev job and it payed quite well for my home country (Lithuania). I could not find comparable offers on the market in the country and started looking at foreign markets and eventually settled on UK at that time. Back at <biginternationalorg> I witnessed a developer deliberately build an xss vuln into a company web application, so that he could plug a JS file in with all of his passwords hardcoded. Bear in mind, this is an org that provides services to both the UK and US military, and if you have access to some stuff you have access to the tools you need to impersonate high-ranking military folks.
I know its like, twenty different passwords, but that's what a goddamn keychain is for! If you don't trust windows keychains, do what I did and run a VM with a Foss keychain installed! Don't build a vuln right into a public facing web app, that's just stupidity. -
Recently changed up my keyboard and bought a US style instead of my usual UK style, but changed it in Windows so I still have all my keys where I expect them.
But how the hell do you guys live with the tiny ass enter button? My pinkie is bigger than it! -

In the 21st Century the problem is not to allow the use of Chemical & Biological Weapons & 'maybe' just 'maybe' achieve total nuclear disarmament (not in the next 120 years) It's not just the responsibility of the UK, USA, & France but that of every country that's a signatory of the conventions that banned the use of such weapons to intercept and retaliate against members that use such kind of weapons. From Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Brazil, China, India , Afghanistan, Butan, Taiwan, Iceland should use heavy force to stop the use of such weapons.1

Alright guys, I need some advice now from you..
My employer is super impressed with my worked and they are willing to relocate me to the US (Seattle).
As you all are aware that I am actively trying to move out of my country but lately have realised that no matter what, it's home.
Also, I am way to close to my mother and don't want to leave her alone for an extended period of time as both my parents are ageing and I cannot be a selfish fuck to ignore them during their last phase of life.
I want to make the most to spend time with them.
Some key points that I need help with
- I am more inclined towards the UK/EU than US
- Need to spend time with parents/family
- Need to secure some cash for some key life moments
Some challenges:
- Cannot take parents along because they'd not be able to settle for more than 1.5 month outside for various reasons
- If I am moving out, why shouldn't I go to a place I love than a place I don't?
Some plans:
Plan A: Move to Seattle (6 months) > FAANG > Get a high paying high in India (all this in 2 year duration) > Settle down > Periodically travel Europe and explore hobbies
Plan B: Move to Seattle (6 months) > FAANG (optional) > Find a job in the UK/EU (4.5 year duration) > Fullfill EU dreams > Get a high paying job in India > Settle > Continue exploring hobbies
Plan C: Stay in India with current company (6 months) > IJP or EJP to the UK/EU (5 year duration) > Fullfill EU dreams > Get a high paying job in India > Settle > Continue exploring hobbies
I need to pick one while keeping in my that I can spend more time with parents and fullfill my dreams as well. I am confident that money will follow and I'll save enough for my retirement. Willing to trade off some extremely high paying jobs for a happier lifestyle.28 -
A group of friends and I when we were 15 competed in a UK-wide competition to build a robot with sonar and touch sensors to navigate through a field of obstacles. The winner was the fastest average. Our robot only travelled in bent lines, and turned when it detected an obstacle infront of it. We had our three tries, the first two taking perhaps 30 seconds. The third time we twisted it slightly on its start position, and without stopping it followed a curve through the whole course, in about 3 seconds. Unfortunately we weren't even mentioned in the runners up :L1

Anybody tried the Work Cafe by Santander? I was in Warsaw Poland on semi vacation/scouting exercise. I had half a days work to do so I visited one of these work cafes. Very impressed! Free desk, free power and free fast wifi, they even gave me a free coffee cis i’m a santander customer in the uk. Stay as long as you want, they even have sound proof phone booths and a number of rooms to have private meetings that you can book in advance. This is so cool and something that will be great when I eventually move there. Anybody else have them in their city? Well don Santander!

I recently met with a client (a UK-focused homewares company sold by the likes of Next etc) who were meeting with Amazon the next day . Amazon has told them that people search for their name every 6 mins on Amazon. This according to my calculation is c. 7200 searches a month. There are 8,100 searches monthly globally on Google for their brand name according to Google Keyword Planner - suggesting that Amazon is close to becoming the major search destination for shopping (if it isn't already!) in the UK.2

israel population = ~10 mil

huh?????? i finally believe the conspiracy theory... there is total bullshit moving through the undercurrents of international society. actually the entire media and everything on the planet is shifted by angry retards with an IQ of approximately 27 who read something on twitter and therefore they must of course conform and do it
rich hands of influence reach far across this modern world....
my twitter dies on wednesday, I think i'm quitting this platform too... i'm just so sick of wasting time 'discussing' with people who literally have informed their entire lives by sources of media that all have an agenda, and yet said reader can't recognize that. go to bot school you fucking 🤡
also inb4 eurovision is a clown event, i know it is, but the fact that 'israel' as a country was for a good 10 minutes at 1st place of the vote is simply mind boggling to me (and to be fair, switzerland, france, israel, portugal, and croatia acts in terms of art and musical talent were all shit IMO) but what do i know? apparently the 700 mio people who live in europe don't agree - but even then, who knows anything about anything as to the actual 'numbers' that are posted on these 'votes' - could all be fake, or, even worse, the entire WORLD could be fake and i'm just typing to a fucking reflection of my own conciousness on this box
ach i'm very close to just turning it all off, its just rubes on top of rubes, derivatives on top of derivatives all more retarded than the next, and each night
then i get people like kiki who rage at me for getting drunk, then 'brag' they ran 5k. i ran more and drank more than you today, get over it.
i didn't need pills to do any of it either.
or i get sid the it kid, who gives non ironic lessons in fucking PHP 😂😂😂😂 in 2024 on youtube, and yet acts like he's a badass because he pointed out a 'redundant' 'const' in my code 😂😂😂😂 actually i don't know why in the first place i listened to any of it... going my own way has ALWAYS been the best way
by 2030 i will sell my saas(es) for 500k(+) and wonder why i even gave clowns on this platform the time of day
you know what? fuck it, it's been fun devrant, as of today i become a hermit, sick of this planet, and these apes
read books, go running, learn math (or any skill at that matter) and stay calm.
i can't describe in words to all of you how much a fucking abysmal waste it all is... just build useful stuff that helps people. the enormous (and trust me, it is absolutely eclipsingly enormous) discussion about everything around everything else is truly and utterly mind numbing and time wasting to the absolute core

The FCA is the financial services regulator in the UK.
Their website (handbook.fca.org.uk) makes use of an API with the hostname public-prod-api.azurewebsites.net and the certificate has no organisation information.
Also the JS has at least one "debugger" statement in it.
What is wrong with people?
If we set up our website like that, can we keep all of our regulatory permissions, or might some questions be asked about our horsemanship and pistol-shooting skills?2 -

My freelancing journey so far:
In Jan, I continued working for an Indian client I got back in November last year. A Shopify app built with Laravel/MySQL stack.
In Feb, I got three more clients. One, who's from Bulgaria, wants a Shopify app built with Laravel/MySQL
The second one, who's from the UK, wants me to convert their Yii2 application to Laravel.
The third one, also a UK client, wants me to integrate a fulfillment center to their Shopify store.
This month, I continued working for the above clients and now the Bulgarian client wants me to work on a Typescript + Svelte application. I'm really excited for it.
So yeah.. Just wanted to share it. I'm not making a point or any joke or something.7 -
Here's how my day went today:
1. Smoked weed after a 2 weeks break. Got high as shit.
2. Included cardio in my gym routine as an attempt to get over my exer-phobia.
3. Landed a client from the UK and negotiated a 15 GBP/hr contract working remotely in India.
How's yours going?2 -

I don't think ranters here from first world countries (US/UK/Canada etc) realize what a big deal it is when companies from these countries hire South Asian companies (like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) for their out-sourcing work.
I have seen some career building centers with people giving testimonials like "My mother tongue is Hindi and I was always afraid to talk to US/UK clients. But now that I took a course here, I can talk to them with confidence.".
People here throw themselves at these companies' feet begging for a contract. Gotta get that currency converted bag am I right?
I worked at a company and one day someone from London hired us for work and the boss threw a small party cuz "Someone from LONDON is hiring us omg".
Makes me wonder, this is why third world countries like us have such a good IT infrastructure.1 -

Quick question to you guys and gals,
I really want to become an iOS app developer. I know it would be long and painful way to learn Objective-C (some say it looks like alien language compared to C). Swift is rather new, much easier to learn, but I know Objective-C is a must to be considered as true iOS dev.
The question is: is there such a need of iOS developers (I mean UK/Canada/US/Germany)?. I live in Poland and there's not much to do in iOS development (few job offers, everybody is hyped by JS and frameworks changing every year, some offers are often underpayed remote work for foreign clients). I am now 20 years old, still learning at Uni and not having any responsibilities, so I may go someday to UK for a year or two, since the market for iOS devs is more diversed and bigger than in Poland. I know I am complaining (most Poles do that), but I've learned English since I was 4 and it's a pity not to use it as a resource to get a better job offer than in my mother country.
Thanks for all the responses, especially from people working as iOS devs3 -

I've seen a lot of fresh graduates getting jobs at my company. They think they know their shit - that is until they get smashed by reality.
From what I've seen the CS degree is not worth a penny. I might still go to Uni but I'd rather choose a different subject.3 -

The new UK law for data sharing with the governments is crazy with making it law for service providers to hold data of browsing history and big sites like google, facebook so on to retain human readable access to there data is they offer a service to the UK, what steps do we take to protect the data, service but also follow this law I can't see anything that would make any sense to be able to follow this law.
What are your views and ideas going forward, at the moment the UK as made it law even tho the EU said stop this madness, so lets take it as red its there, is there sense-able way to do this or are we going to have to provide UK users data a means to be back doored?11 -

Seeing the US pay for IT people compared to UK and damn the difference is insane. Given the UK healthcare is free, I wouldn't see its usage until old age, and the costs of US vary greatly but most places US pays a lot. For e.g. Airbnb in US pays graduate IT people 200k USD starting while the highest I've seen for IT people in London is 46k GBP, which even after conversion is waay less, and the tax amount if about the same if not more in UK. Maybe I'm wrong but this is what I've seen, maybe I should consider moving to the states :/.5

TL;DR: Best C# and .NET accreditation courses (UK)?

QROPS Direct: Understanding the HMRC QROPS List and How It Affects Your Pension Transfer
When it comes to managing your UK pension, transferring your pension savings to an overseas scheme can be a great way to gain more control, flexibility, and tax efficiency. One of the most popular ways to do this is through a QROPS (Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme). However, it's crucial to ensure that the overseas pension scheme you're considering is HMRC-approved. This is where the HMRC QROPS List comes into play.
At QROPS Direct, we specialize in guiding individuals through the process of transferring their UK pensions to HMRC-approved QROPS. Based at No L4, 10th Main, Indira Nagar, 100 Feet Main Road, Jeevan Bima Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560075, we offer expert advice and support to help you make the most of your pension transfer, ensuring that your scheme is on the HMRC QROPS List and compliant with UK regulations.
What is the HMRC QROPS List?
The HMRC QROPS List is a list published by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) that contains overseas pension schemes that meet the necessary criteria to accept pension transfers from UK pension plans. When you transfer your UK pension to a QROPS, it must be an eligible scheme on this list in order to avoid potential penalties or tax liabilities.
The HMRC QROPS List ensures that the overseas pension scheme you choose is recognized by HMRC and that it complies with all UK regulations, making it eligible to receive pension transfers from the UK. If you transfer your pension to a scheme that is not on the list, you risk facing substantial tax penalties, including a 55% tax charge on the amount you transfer.
Why Is the HMRC QROPS List Important?
Compliance with UK Regulations: The HMRC QROPS List is important because it ensures that the overseas pension scheme is fully compliant with the UK’s pension transfer regulations. Only schemes that meet these criteria are allowed to receive pension transfers from the UK without incurring heavy tax penalties.
Avoiding Tax Penalties: Transferring your UK pension to a scheme that is not on the HMRC QROPS List can result in a 55% tax charge on the pension amount you attempt to transfer. This is why it's vital to ensure that the scheme you choose is approved by HMRC and is listed on the QROPS list.
Security and Transparency: When you transfer your pension to an HMRC-approved QROPS, you can be confident that the scheme has been thoroughly vetted and complies with both UK and international pension standards. This provides you with added security and peace of mind, knowing that your pension funds are in good hands.

"For players based in the United Kingdom, finding a safe and exciting place to play Plinko can be tricky, especially with so many online casinos available. Luckily, https://plinkogamecasino.co.uk/ was created precisely for this purpose. The site focuses specifically on UK-regulated online casinos that offer Plinko games. It helps users avoid scams and low-quality platforms by offering a handpicked list of licensed operators.
Not only does it highlight where to play Plinko legally, but it also explains how bonuses work, what kind of RTP (return to player) percentages are typical for Plinko games, and what features to look for in a quality casino. The UK version of the site ensures that British players can enjoy a localized experience, complete with GBP transactions, local support, and fast withdrawal options."4 -

Alternative to Knee Replacement in the UK: Regenerative Knee Therapy for Arthritis at Kneevolution, Hexham
Facing the possibility of a knee replacement can be daunting. While surgery may be necessary in some advanced cases, many people are searching for an effective, non-invasive alternative to knee replacement in the UK. At Kneevolution – 7 Non-Surgical Knee Solutions, we offer innovative and highly effective regenerative knee therapy for arthritis, helping patients find lasting relief without going under the knife.
Conveniently located at Halliwell Dene Hall, Hexham NE46 1HW, United Kingdom, our private clinic specialises in helping people manage knee osteoarthritis through science-backed, non-surgical solutions.
Why Consider an Alternative to Knee Replacement?
Knee replacement surgery carries risks: long recovery times, complications, implant wear, and, in some cases, persistent pain. At Kneevolution, we believe that many patients can avoid surgery altogether by addressing the root cause of their joint deterioration with regenerative therapies.
These therapies focus on stimulating the body’s natural healing processes—reducing pain, restoring joint function, and slowing the progression of arthritis.
What Is Regenerative Knee Therapy for Arthritis?
Regenerative knee therapy uses advanced, non-surgical techniques to promote healing and restore joint health. At Kneevolution, our regenerative treatments include:
Arthrosamid® hydrogel injections for long-term joint cushioning
EMTT (Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy) to improve cellular repair and reduce inflammation
Shockwave therapy to stimulate tissue regeneration and relieve pain
Hyaluronic acid injections to enhance joint lubrication
Rehabilitation protocols and joint offloading techniques
These therapies are ideal for patients who want a safe, non-invasive approach that supports long-term joint health—especially when used as part of our comprehensive, 7-step solution.
Why Choose Kneevolution?
As one of the few clinics in the UK focusing exclusively on non-surgical knee care, Kneevolution is uniquely positioned to help you avoid surgery and return to an active, pain-free lifestyle.
