Fortunately the only data I lost was my debian install, some steam games, bookmarks, and a few unfinshed projects.
I kept everything important on a backup spinning drive -- which is also dying. Joy. But I might be able to save its data.30 -

Make sure they're implementing basic technology that you deem necessary, or at least that they'd allow you to set it up. If they're working without CI/CD, for example, there are probably more problems.
Also, note that you might also be quite under qualified in comparison to the average employee. That might also affect you in a bad way. -

Someone on discord asked me to make an aim assist program for a game. I thought it might be a fun way to introduce myself to memory writing and binary trees. I accepted the request and started researching. I'm using C++ and I have some options if I need to switch programming languages. Honestly I don't know where to start, but I thought finding a color on the screen using ML or something then moving the mouse position might work. This is also one of my close friends so he wouldn't be too sad/mad if I failed the request.13 -

Another small update on my games modding stuff...
Currently building a command line tool to pack the game data, currently have a working sprite packer and am able to actually read data from the packed file and export all images byte for byte... Holy shit I might be able to actually do this!

Daily stand-ups might seem like a joke when done remotely, but I believe they help unite the team, and they play a key role for project managers, even if they're brief. The bigger issue might be just some of the dev's attitude towards it, and the lack of communication through out the project development.4

a professor at the uni is recording his lectures to be extra nice for some of us students who might be unable to come or want to repeat some parts for a better understanding of the subject *cough*.
but instead of sharing it via a streaming platform (whichever that might be in the end), he uses the internal net of the uni. i know there might be some copyright issues with material he uses in his lectures, but still.
what he expects us to do is to download files of around 12GB in size per lecture that we want to rewatch.

Don't be discouraged by rejection. If you get rejected from a company it doesn't necessarily mean you're not good enough for them, they might just be looking for a different type of developer, different type of personality, etc. Or they might even have misjudged you based on the 30 seconds they gave you. I thought this just doesn't make notif icon spark up and supresses bolded stuff in all but that you are still able to see it under ++ tab if you switch, but nothing is there.. o.O7 -

What are some good companies for consumer networking equipment. I need a unmanaged switch and might buy a router from them. There will be 7 cables run though it. I have heard praises for ubiquiti but mostly from U.S. youtubers and I live in India so service might defer. Being cheap is a plus point.3 -
