Although there's been a lot of rants on Firefox Quantum, I'm going to add my experience anyways.
Just downloaded it on my laptop and netbook.
Motherfucker this thing is fast. No lag, pages load very freaking fast, consumes less ram than before and I fucking love the new interface!
Mozilla, you did a hell of a job!22 -
Dear codebeautify.org,
Go kill yourself.
No one likes you. Go die.
Love,
poster983
P.S. I'm serious.18 -
passionately making love on Friday morning.
Cellphone buzzes for WhatsApp notification, ignored.
Call ignored, SMS ignored, again call, ignored.
She : whose that bitch calling you?
Me : it's no one important.
She : Checks WhatsApp, message from CTO, server crashed.
Me : Umm, darling, I need to fix this.
It's been 2 days she hasn't answered my call after she left.15 -
Wife: the neighbors brought their pc, it doesn't work.
Me: WTF did I say to you. I DON'T REPAIR ANYTHING NO PCS, PRINTERS, WASHMACHINES NOTHING TELL THEM TO GET THE FUCKING PC GODDAMIT ITS MY FREE DAY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.3 -
"Could I get your wifi password?"
"Just use the neighbour's"
"Don't you have your own?"
"Yes, but it's just a repeater of his"
The neighbor has no idea.
I love how people from the Balkans don't give a fuck about anything.5 -
I love how "minimal" devRant is.
No username, no time... just the number of likes and number of comments ..
*it's a feature not a bug*
✌(◕‿-)✌3 -
There's one kind of ticket I fucking love. Wait, YOU LOVE TICKETS?! No, except for one.
Tickets where people ask us to restore backups.
Why do I love them?
Because the only fucking thing I need to do is reply with a link to a helpdesk item on our website because backups aren't something within our support range because it's easy for customers to do.
So whenever a ticket about restoring a backup comes in, it's as easy as opening the ticket, pasting the link with "I'd like to refer you to the following resource: " and pressing fucking "reply"
😄15 -

Coffee. I love it.
But with that, I mean *coffee*.
No I don't want a fucking cappucino or a latte or a whatever-the-fuck you call it that is coffee mixed with something not-coffeeish.
I love *coffee* and I want my coffee black and strong as fuck without any bullshit added to it.47 -
When my programmer boyfriend talks about his code, all I say is "That's so cool, babe," because I have no idea what he's even talking about.
He could be telling me he blew up a server.
"That's so cool, babe."
(I love you, though, darling x)9 -
Got to love when the client has no requirements, other than, they want a website and they need it done as soon as possible.
Well in that case.... Here's your website.

Yesterday: "This fucking logic makes no sense. I can't work this shit out!"
Today (first look at the problem): "Oh... I think if I do this and this... Yeap, that'd work"
I love fresh brain thoughts in the morning.8 -
Please for the love of god name your variables in a sensible way! How the FUCK am I supposed to read your shitcode if you decide to write 6 (!!!) nested loops with variables each named by exactly one character. With no comments whatsoever!
I would rather crack password hashes than this nonsense.13 -
It's finished.
After switching between Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Manjaro, Antergos and a dozen WM's I've settled for Arch on the desktop.
Took me over a week of trial and error, but it's worth the pain for the level of control you get.
Switching to Linux reminded me much of trying to find out if I liked text editors or IDE's more when I first started programming. I changed tools every day before I settled.
Screenshots of course. Now to actually get back to my JDBC projects before I start obsessing over how to get all my apps on the terminal. :D12 -
"What the hell, you got some custom tuning package?"
No man, it's called DevRant, it's awesome, spread the love!12 -
How I chose a new smartphone:
- specs good?
Yes: good, continue.
No: hmm i might live.
- looks good?
Yes: OOHH MUCH BEAUTY, SUCH AWESOME, LET'S GO TO THE LAST ONE!!
No: 😩. I'll live I guess, last step :/.
- can find a rooting guide on DDG within a fee minutes?
Yes: YES YES I LOVE YOU ALREADY I'LL BUY YOU ❤😍
NO: FUUUCK. Next.30 -
I love it when companies expect you to care about their vision and act like the work is 100x more important than it is.
Oh yes and of course no overtime pay or decent salary that'd be too much!
😒😫🤯3 -
I love writing and using my own apps!
Was just using 2 of them but found a new annoyance...
No problem! Open the source code, add the functionality, publish and install 😆
10 minutes after... All good and better 😁1 -
Why do Pokemon masters love JavaScript?
Because you gotta, try/catch them all
Haha. No laughs? Okay
*curls into a ball7 -
I love companies that only use titles like 'Analyst'. Then, they can make you work as a developer, business analyst, tester, help desk, or project manager and there's no way you can ask for a raise or promotion6
-
I love when job postings are like, you will use THIS tool, and THIS is how it will be accomplished!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
bitch, i'm the senior engineer, I should be the one picking and choosing tools to match your needs, not you and HR pals!
no wonder your job offer still isnt' filled!
i'd love to ask these organizations why they chose such boomer technologies in the first place and why there is no effort to change to much more developer / user friendly tools.... just a red flag from the start11 -
I have a new woman in my life. She has an amazing contoured body, smooth to touch and yeah she is wonderful on the inside. She is a pleasure to be around and is always there for me. She enables to DO amazing things and she empowers my personal aswell as my professional development. I THINK I'm falling in love no I DO love her.
She is my Lenovo ThinkStation P310 Intel Xeon 3.60GHz 32GB RAM 1.2TB SSD 6GB/s also known as Suzie.9 -

I love the fact that some programmers will put there heart and soul into a project and spend there entire life working on it to only have no recognition or earn a single cent.
Yet the man who invented toilet paper literally wiped his ass and made millions...
I love how the world works! :-D5 -
Just gotta love random hibernation wake ups, went sleep on time in like a year, fell asleep quick and then my fucking 3 monitors turn on and the fucking pc woke up, for no fucking reason, blasting equal of 4 suns into my eyes.9

No Rant, just wanted to say devRant is something I have been looking for in a long time, Love it !3

Don't you love when you want to buy a domain and it says it's unavailable so you check out the site and get greeted with this...
EDIT: Don't ask why the image has a black thing around it because I have no idea12 -
I just LOVE posting questions in online forums and getting some amazingly helpful human being answering; "No idea, sorry."
WELL THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR AMAZING INPUT!!!2 -
My Friends say i´m no dev...
Why???? :(
I love do Sports,
I have free time,
I´m eating healthy,
I don't like coffee....10 -
Don't you love it when there is a new minor release or a critical dependency and it breaks backwards compatibility without mentioning any of it in the changelog or docs?
I absolutely love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I certainly did not waste 3 hours of my life to find it. No i didn't. -
Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE the stability of slack (and electron apps in general)?
Got notified of a new message in slack, clicked the channel and this is what I see, even after a restart. No content or UI controls of any kind are being rendered. No workspaces, no loading spinners, no errors, no warnings ... just nothing.
I don't give a fuck about your integrations, apps, giphy, video calls, search, threading ... I just want to read text.
Piece of fucking shit9 -
Made a simple college project using Node.Js, MongoDB, React... Wrote everything from scratch, starting from HTML to CSS and Routes even OAuth. No template was used.. Guess what teacher said...
She said I love the second project made using wordpress template because, "It looks amazing and beautiful"
One of the reasons why I hate college...11 -
For the love of God use descriptive variable names. I dont care if it is 15 characters long instead of 5. Besides any halfway modern IDE does auto completion.
"tTime" is not helpful. Target time? Test time? Total time? Tea time? Turtle Timmy? No clue...21 -
The best part about solving problems in code is there is no one right answer.
Except for this. This is clearly the wrong way. This is garbage and you are a garbage person for writing it. This code you wrote is the reason your own children will never love you.1 -
I just experienced the opposite of rant.
I spent 1 entire day ranting about a algorithm I couldn't write with no issues, it occupied all my mind and got me pissed of.
And today, I rewrote it entirely, and it works perfectly everywhere.
I was like : "No it can't work here. Oh ok", "And here's the bug ! No ? Nice.", "Don't tell me it'll work here. I'm a God".
That's why I love being a dev :D
Thank you, you freaking problem I had !7 -

Fuck I love my job, my boss and I are absolute food fanatics and talk about weird and wonderful things we cook...
He knows I bloody love curry so he brought some in for me to have for lunch and he's bringing me a shit load of fresh grown vegetables...
And to think I chose IT over being a chef.... (Still no regrets)6 -
I just spent 3hours trying to make the simplest, barely 10lines python script work with no success.
I'm writing this rant from my bed where I gave up.
I love programming but moments like this I fear I'm not cut out for it and It hurts, the little self esteem I have left is on fire.10 -
Did i just get rick rolled through a user agent?

Got a question for the linuxers.
I'm a linuxer myself (no shit) but I don't really tweak a lot. Whenever I see those awesome arch setups with tiling wm's etc (https://devrant.com/rants/1902395/ for example), I would love to set that up myself but one thing:
Any idea on how I'd be able to run this well with 6 screens? I've got genuinely no clue.22 -

A brief, and biased opinion of what love is in the dev world:
Love is my employees bringing me something to eat when they know I stay back so that they can all go out do whatever they can do.
Love is my CMS admin getting his ass up and walking all the way to my office when the director walks in to say some STUPID FUCKING SHIT to me that he(CMS Admin) knows would have me 2 fucking seconds away from getting out of my chair and drop kicking the fuck out of him.
Love is the rest of my employees getting up to follow along in case(certainly) one dude is not able to hold me down.
Love is them knowing that I know that their mere presence there will make me chill the fuck out and not choke the fucking director
Love is the CMS Admin proof reading every email I send to a bitch that was trying to get smart, to make sure that I was not being agressive.
Love is said CMS Admin bringing me coffee or a coke congratulating me on listening to him about X email not being aggressive (there is no passive in my vocabulary, just balls out "isn't this your fucking job" aggressive)
Love is my lead developer showing to work after medical treatment fucked up as all hell because he knows that if he is not there I will do a billion things myself in order to give him some rest.
Love is taking my CMS admin and lead dev out to eat when a major stakeholder shits on something I damn well know it took them a while to finish. Love is also letting me open up to said stakeholder to tell them how much of a fucktard they are, sometimes they let me loose, and I appreciate that.
Love is every small person in the company approaching you to tell you of their issues, becuase they care more about the productivity they give to their users, rather than the bullshit numbers their managers care about.
Love is the staff of other places taking care of you because you are not a VP dickhead that treats them like shit.
Love is the HR reps sending you personal e-mails asking you for help because their shitbag of a boss does not count for help and leaves them in the blank with shit software, for which said HR go above and beyond for you later on even though said shitbag manager said no.
Love is your team getting angry and responding respectfully at people when they talk shit about their manager on their emails (manager being me)
Love is your employees closing your door for you when they know you are overwhelmed and you need a quick second to pull yourself up.
Love is not wanting to leave this miserable place because you know some dickweed will be left in charge of the people that care for you, trust you, work for you regardless of the date, and confide in you.
They got me locked in, this shitty institution, for now. Until I find a way to bring my entire team with me.8 -
I LOVE WORK FROM HOME!! I love it sooooo much. You suckers think I’m actually doing work? HAHA. No honest, I’m so much more productive at home than in the office! Hahaha I love this!!!8

Computer: Please check your authenticator app to login

Computer: No changes
I love Microsoft at my job4 -

I love that new home supervisor already...4 -
Why I can't just get this fucking Webpack working?
😡😠😡😠😡😠😡😠😡😠
Fucking es2015! Fucking Babel! Fucking JavaScript!
...No. Sry, JavaScript. I actually love you.7 -
Considerable size storm. No internet for the past two hours or so. This is so inhumane. Clinging to the two songs I have fully buffered on YouTube.
Send love...7 -
God i love this site. Because its not a place to fix problems its not a place to share knowledge its not even just programmers hanging out and talking about their projects, no this site is as close as you can get to screaming into the void and still get sympathy
-
Chrome to stop autoplaying content with sound starting 2018. I fucking love Google 😁
https://venturebeat.com/2017/09/...3 -
Win 10 is the best, I love how it just restarts without asking, no more hassle of me having to confirm anything, or save data first. finally an OS that has the confidence to just do whatever the fuck it wants, so awesome!3

"Hmm, I have a meeting with a few of the executives today to go over that new feature... I'd better wear my good t-shirt and jeans today."
I love working at a place where there is no dress code for devs!4 -
My love for web development has come to an end, I'm no longer enjoying it but sadly I can't just get up and leave work 🤷♂️7

I am always caught in the middle of Nerf gunfights as my colleagues love shooting at each other all around the clock.
And I hate it so much that I decided to remove all ammo from the battlefield.
No ammo, no gunfights. Does that make sense?11 -
The year is 2019.
C++ is still one of the most powerful programming languages around..............with no centralized package manager that is widely adopted by the community that allows one to sandbox libraries from conflicts with one another.
I ain't hating, just find this funny and I love cpp
Apt get/git submodules it is!!12 -
*Me after writing a piece of code and praying to god that there are no errors.*
My pc: 1 error(s) found.
Me : "I hate coding. I hate coding. I hate coding."
*Tries everything to solve that problem.*
My pc: No errors found.
Me: "I love coding.Yay xD"2 -
Css was developed by monkeys. I fucking hate how there is no organisation, laying out stuff requires too much work, there are billions of ways to do something. Aligning things in css actually has a web page dedicated to that, seriously, what the fuck????? I love doing backend and creating rest apis but for the love of god i cant stand css and front end in general🤦🤦🤦8
-
I love static sites and fancy new frameworks. Had an interview some time ago at a medium sized company. They specifically wanted someone to build static sites and introduce the company to Vue and Gridsome.
I got really excited for my first project. It was a wordpress site and I had to build a custom WP theme for it. Not exactly what I expected. Also I had no prior PHP knowledge, nor any experience with Wordpress. So I got really upset, because it wasn’t the technologies I was used to.
The first week was hard, I wanted to quit. But once something clicked. And I realized I know this. This is not PHP, not Wordpress, not Vue, but just simply a programming language. At the core everything programming language is the same. PHP became comfortable, Wordpress conventions didn’t bother me. I realized I can use great technologies with WP too. I get to know twig, added some sass, compiled everything nicely with webpack. And after a month I have a beautiful, fast and efficent site. I love it.
I realised that I don’t love the languages and frameworks. I love coding itself. I love creating efficent and reliable, clean code. No matter the architecture.
And my advice for you is to stop hating particular languages and serious debates on what is better, and hating your job when you can’t code in your new shiny framework. Love coding itself, because it’s a wonderful activity. We are creators, we are artists. Not <insert specific programming language here> developers.16 -
1) bugfixing
2) bugfixing
3) bugfixing
No, seriously, I love finding & fixing bugs.. it never gets old..frustrating at times yes, but it is never boring..4 -
To be honest I have no problem with procrastination. I love programming and there are few things I would rather do.4
-
Startup company: "We love competing with each other! We (the sales team) play pranks and pass each other mini footballs! Mandatory team social nights (No we won't pay you for it)!
Me, a typical introverted dev: "HISSSSSSSSSSS, away, away!"
What's with these sales people making software companies reminiscent of 1980s Wall Street trading floors?1 -
Why I love Salesforce 👀
- Run a test method
- failure: no field found
- checks test, queries field
- checks field security (access permissions) visible to user
- runs test again
- failure: no field found
- adds debug log of queried field
- runs test again
- succes
Thanks, thanks for fucking with me today 🥲6 -
Tfw when you try to make your first rant and you have no idea what to talk about because there are hundreds of things that you can rant about and so you end up making a generic "I'm new here, please help me!" post.
I love computers :)7 -
Thank god there are no Community Moderators on devRant... I just fucking have StackOverflow/Quora, they just don't let a newbie rise on those platforms... I love this place though.6
-
Me to gf: hey hun look what I built! (Shows off new project)
Gf: (sees video playing in background) oh that's so cool! Did you do that? (Points at video)
Me: no, but look at this! (Shows off feature)
Gf: oh... well that's great hun, I'm so happy you are doing what you love -
I'm embarrassed to say I'm a php programmer. Time to learn a new language. No offense to any php lovers out there. All love ❤8
-
ffmpeg...
I FUCKING LOVE YOU!!
I CAN JUST STACK THOSE FILTERS WITH NO RESTRICTIONS OVER AND OVER WITH DIFFERENT INPUTS AND OUTPUTS!!
Also: it fucking works with still images, AND IT’S FUCKING FAST!!
It’s around FOUR (4, DO YOU REALISE THE IMPROVEMENT) times faster to GAUSSIAN blur an image and then composite an image over it with ffmpeg, than to composite the image with imagemagick (no blurring)!!3 -
Fuck web development - especially CSS. Actually only CSS.
Love Js/Ts, Vue, React (NextJs ftw) and especially thank you to SCSS for making things easier.
But CSS is my most detested LaNgUagE now.
After I finish these 2 projects, I’m not doing CSS anymore. Minimal touches, sure, but no more positioning.
Maybe that’s why I like Flutter, no hassles yet.20 -
!rant
So family doesn't really know coding. Just me and my little sister. But then my dad suddenly made jokes with loops and stuff. I have no idea where he learned it. They're not actually accurate but I really love it when he does that.2 -
Biggest annoyance of favorite language:
Python has no static type checking. I know that is not something that is intended for Python. It's just that I enjoy the syntax, but would love the type-safety of something like Kotlin/Java12 -
I love this Google's Colab feature, when I saw it, I just laughed for no reason!
A button to the answer :)7 -
I love Docker... but i absolutely fucking hate Docker for Windows.
No matter what I fucking do after a couple of hours messing around i find the "its a known limitation on Docker for Windows..." FUCK YOU12 -
in Russian the word “шляпа” (fedora) means not only the specific hat but also something that makes no sense, something ridiculous or something of low quality.
So when someone sends you some spaghetti code on a review, you can just say “That’s fedora” and I love it. You can also WEAR a fedora and point to it as a response to someone saying something that makes no sense.4 -
First thing, I love my colleague. I know him for 15 years and I'm under 30. But I freaking hate when he picks his nose FOR ALL THE DAY LONG and uses shared mouses and keyboards, leaving them unable to use. I have to clean all that mess and no matter what we say he still do it. :(5
-
Love it when testers loose there shit and take loads of screenshots, arrows everywhere, the lot...
But no explanation of what they are actually trying to show.
😂 -
Today I told my crush that I love her. She said no, but in the nicest way possible. She's so cute 😍20
-
Oh no! What have I done? I opened up devRant at 8:00am and it's now 9:55am. This is literally my biggest time sink and I love it.
-
I always love it when a manager who has no coding background tells me to "just do this" without ever letting me do any research. Just because you see it in you favorite app does not mean that feature is trivial.1
-
Some days I get bored with programming and I think I have no talent and I wish I had a different job. But someday I love programming and I want to code all day.
Is it normal? Do you have these mix feelings?7 -
half day gone try to find or remember the password of some SSL/key/encrypt/crt/shit/whatever.
Blaming myself for hours, how could I not save the password somewhere?
#Enter Password:
(I pressed enter, no password).
it works.
I love IT security -
Again I ended working for a company where people love to pride themselves because they're 'agile'.
Basically they bought A JIRA license, that's all.
The CTO decides the estimates privately.
He assign the stories.
No idea what's a retrospective.
The sprint ends whenever he wants.
No CI.
New stories continuosly added to the active sprint.
That's the risk of agile, unchecked power.3 -
As much as I love using a mechanical keyboard ,I fucking hate the taps it makes when others use it
It’s like this constant hammer,
FUCK YOU BITCHES , don’t fucking hit it likes there’s no tomorrow !!!5 -
I don't know if we can be friend...
I don't like cable art, my desk is messy(no setup), no stickers on my mac, don't care I have to use mac or pc or unix, I don't code at night.....anymore, I don't have problem with ;
But....I love coffee.2 -
Dev friend: Happy in your job?
- Me: Kinda, don't see myself doing it for another 35 years tho.. :(
Dev friend: Go back to school, learn computer sciences and get a dev job. You'll love it.
So now I'm back in school, no regrets whatsoever. Without a doubt best advice.. :) -
Oh man don't you just LOVE the weekend? I have no fucking idea but I have so much energy and motivation now... I might even try to pull a all nighter on my personal project !
Anyway have a nice weekend everyone! 😁3 -
Love it when you try to fix a bug and realize the bug only occurs in debug mode.
No clue why, but also not my fucking problem, users ain't gonna debug :D7 -
No matter how many frameworks and supersets I try, I always conclude that nothing beats vanilla JS. ES6 in particular is such a beautiful language, and I love having fine control over what happens under the hood.
When I'm done I can just transpile it to whatever ES version, although it's slowly becoming a non-issue.2 -
On the -2nd day of Christmas, my true love gave to me
offfffline servers,

I love to code but I hate to configure.😡😡
OK I hate to configure when it takes several hours and when there is no real documentation.2 -
They say: Luck is when you have somebody you love next to you.
I say: Luck is when I run code and no errors pop up...3 -
I just had a professor unironically ask why students are stressed all the time. Education has changed. The insane assessments and workload make a healthy work-life balance impossible. There's no love of learning when the pace is shoved down your throat.7

For the love of all things sacred, put a damn space between your parentheses and whatever comes before/after them. It is totally not cool to read if(expression){}.
No, seriously, I mean that.11 -

know what is worst than fucking clients from hell?
fucking websites that need a mortherfucking good spec computer to run. i cannot even type properly. thought my keyboard had problem. no. I can fucking type fucking quick and well here now with no hiccup. i wish i can burn those all down.
no wonder we love devrant. even the website is fast and good.3 -
Call me crazy all you want, but I love my tangled mess of cords
Yeah yeah, I know, I know, wouldn't I just love a cordless setup and workspace ...
NO
Bluetooth devices are at best unreliable and at worst don't even work with Linux
I want to just be able to plug my shit in and work, not wait for everything to sync and hope I don't have connectivity issues
Call it living in the past all you want, I don't care. I love my cords
Fuck you and your bluetooth shit2 -
Oh god! Why did I change to Ubuntu!!! This machine is running hotter and slower!!! Battery drains faster than ever!
There's no going back to windows 10... looking back, I love windows 10 despite its faults :')
Did anyone else experience the same? First thing I'm doing in the morning is install arch linux10 -
i love to actually understand how the code works! like you're writing some text and surprise - it does magic? no. it goes deeper than that. and when you understand those concepts, coding becomes more serious/fun and interesting1
-
Our QA team love writing really awkward bug tickets
No reproductions steps
and every time i see one appear all i can think of is this1 -
Love my new job but fuck they are way behind in any kind of modernization.
Just saw a demo over zoom where someone was showing the team how to change the margin on an error page.
They literally changed the HTML directly in prod using the VIM. So first of all no web modernation because there was no build, no deployment, not git, no pipeline - NOTHING!
This project went from 40 people to around 200 in 6 mos. You can't have all these people in prod just making fucking changes.
If this job did not pay 110k a year I would bail.9 -
If you want it and there's no better alternative, make it.
This is what has driven me for the past few years as I've fallen hopelessly in love with programming. I'm my own creator; my own God, if you will. -
My biggest problem with designers is when they have no empathy for the platform(s). Here's a design that I made based on my love of graphic design and Photoshop. Over to you to just slap it on iOS, Android and web. Ends up as a substandard result everywhere.
And, of course, the Photoshop designs look great to managers. -
I'd like to share with you guys the fact that I had one of the greatest Christmases ever!
This includes having randomly received this debugging duck from someone that had no idea what it would mean to me, but also meeting people who brought 4 dogs to the family reunion (I am absolutely in love with dogs)1 -
Hey guys
So, a new game has ben launched on kongregate.
https://kongregate.com/games/...
I have no affiliation to it, but I think you guys will love my first try.
Btw, the name of the religion and almost everything is chosen by the gamer, so my pick was Scientology3 -
They all think I'm a hacker.
My parents have no clue about what I do.
My wife is starting to understand (at least she knows I make web pages 90% of the time I'm working), but still doesn't get close to see the full picture.
Btw, they are all very supportive and I love them for that :-) -
Ah, love it when my code doesn't work because it's commented out and I have no fucking idea when I did that :)1
-
1. it like playing with lego, but for adults, and you have almost no limit
2. it's the best way I know to express an idea
3. I just love having the PC doing exactly what I tell it to do, even if it doesn't make any sense whatsoever -
I really love Linux, but i GODDAMN HATE, how nearly no Distro supports installing it on a Custom LVM.
I mean, i just want to have a custom LVM, inside of an encrypted Partition in other Distros than Ubuntu, Debian or Opensuse.1 -
So yeah, apparently i am supposed to take part of 'meating'.
I would love to say its joke/meme but no, not really, that happened.6 -
it's 1:30am and i'm working and i feel more productive and peaceful working this way (when there's no one and i can concentrate better). this is the developer life? i love it!4
-
FUCK
I really wanna love Rust. I really, really do. But no inheritance is just such a stupid decision. But inheritence bad REEEE. No. Just no. Composition only works fine for some things because it just isn't powerful enough to properly (without performance penalty or boilerplate, that is) emulate inheritance. Some things are just better with inheritance: Games, UI, html or xml libs, etc. Now I have to use stupid fucking workarounds because oh no we cannot implement inheritance because that's scary and might give the programmers to much power. I can decide when I want to use inheritance or composition for myself, dickheads9 -
Found my dream girl. Programmer, smart, good sense of humor, knows Python, but nothing can happen. Boyfriend of 7 years and thinks I don't like her. :D How did I deserved this?11
-
Don't you just love it when you get a project with no requirements doc, so you make your own spec and requirements, start to architect and develop the project correct way, the 2 weeks later your manager comes to you asking why wasn't features XYZ not included and how you should add functionalities for A B and C...
-
Oh no it's happening to me too... Gave up so many hobbies/interests to focus on my career. Now I have almost no interest in side projects because I don't know what to build. (I mean something actually useful not a to-do list.) I love my job, but is this the path to burnout?5
-
I hate it when apps I enjoy get no love or updates after being acquired by a bigger company. Why did you buy them in the first place? Skitch still cannot support Unicode cause Evernote doesn't care :-(3
-
Don't you fucking love it when there are no errors, and still, something doesn't work. It's so frustrating. I've been debugging this shit for like 2 days. UGH!2
-
You wanna have a meeting, fine. We'll have a meeting. But for the love of balsamic vinegar, put a fucking agenda in. I automatically decline any meeting request with no agenda, regardless of who sent it.
Guard your time well, my friends. It is precious and fleeting. -
Visual Studio Code !!
It has tons of features, form keybinding, to language support
I just love the inbuilt terminal support
And with git integration and some plugins, there's absolutely no need for separate git client -
So it is Friday and I love that. :) Especially when my project manager assigned me yesterday a feature request to implement that he estimated to take no more than two days, which was right. 👍

I can fucking believe this is still the norm.
Micro selection borders for window / panel
sizing are the worst, please for the love of
god, MAKE THEM THICCer.
No need to make them visually wider,
just let me select it more easily, PLEASE.4 -
Can a sysadmin start Node web design?
I'm a Linux automation admin, and I always look at my friends developing nodes websites with poor UI and UX. I'd love to fix that but have no idea where to start from.
Any idea or git project / advice on where to start from?
Cheers!

I love the simplicity of jQuery and Angular 1.0 - you just include the JS files and off you go. No additional dependencies or messing around.4
-
Gotta love it when your client tells his whole company that they can contact you for any question related to computers. I'm a fucking developer and no first level Microsoft Windows support.2
-
I gotta say I hate and I love the part where I have no idea what I'm doing.
Sometimes it's the last time for that action -
On the positive note, I just installed win 10 on my PC, so I can finally play some MMO with my gf with more than 30 seconds per frame. Needless to say, my first installs were Msys2 and gvim :)
PS, any suggestions on a free casual MMO we could play together? I was thinking about TERA, but not set on anything yet.16 -
I hate android studio. No wait i love it. No i hate it. Can't seem to make up my mind about it. Its slow, kills my computers performance, messy interface. But despite that it's something appealing about it. Everything seems to be avaliable for previewing as one work.. aaand then it breaks my computer and I hate it again..3

The code will not:
* bad-mouth
* lie
* let down
* abuse
* cheat
* bully
* kill
* run away
The code brings people together no matter if someone has the brain power of protozoa or is the next Euclid. The code is pure with a passive buff to become as perfect as possible. It's the new math for the future world. The code is love, the code is life.
That's why I love (to) code. And you?2 -
I fucking hate my job! This site sucks ass and I have no motivation to work on it! Would love to get a new job with a fresh sleek site, but unfortunately my autism kicks in bad during technical interviews. Oh fuck me!5

Since ive started college my will to program has become non-existant. Im a self taught programmer since 12, it used to be MY thing and i loved it. I used to spend hours a day just programming personal projects because i love it. However since college has been getting serious with this being my junior year and having part-time contract work i dont "love it" as much. Im a little scared, i have no time to just code for fun and when i do have time it feels like work because thats the only other time i code.
What should i do guys, i dont want to fall out of love with programming, it's part of who i am and i can feel im losing it.1 -
Apparently, drake made a song called "Kiki do you love me".
No. Just no.
Too bad it was you and not MF Doom.8 -
I love when a project puts a dependency on infrastructure that has not been implemented internally and have no idea if it will work. *sarcastic voice*1
-
Ahhh.. the pleasure of playing with the Raimi suit :") no rant here .. but I guess everyone here would love to play with that suit just like me ..4
-
Love the docs that provide lots of segment examples everywhere, but no full examples. No source code. Very helpful2
-
Ah yes i also love not having a meeting before our first sprint because 'there is nothing to talk about yet'. I see absolutely no way this could ever go wrong.1
-
In work we use TFS (no judgement please) but I love creating shelvesets with obtuse names like
"The Evil Is everywhere in here"
"Dragons within"
"I See the Devil in this Code"2 -
No performance bonus was mentioned in my contract but hey they gave me one anyway... Man I love working here1
-
I love working as one-man army in multiple projects. Just love.
I got sick, stayed in bed for a week and now, after getting back to work, everything went to shit. And there's no one but me to fix the whole mess.
Yay.1 -
I've been to 4 kubernetes related tech talks and they've all been the fucking same. No depth, no new cool things, no little tricks or demonstrations, just the plain old boring shit I've seen a thousand times.
I've worked with it and love it for big projects, but going to conventions to hear someone talk about it is completely meaningless. Perhaps it's because I only learn by doing.
And before anyone says 'then don\'t go', I usually go with either friends or a colleagues and want to show my face, and have some drinks and snacks.
This was my techtalk.3 -
I love when someone trash talks software or something tech when they so clearly have no idea what they are talking about in the slightest 🙃1
-
Curiosity killed the cat.. or was it Opportunity?! 🤔
You get to learn new stuff daily.
Not one assignment is the same, and if it's similar, you can hijack the old code, improve it & turn in the better version of it.. or don't improve..totally how you feel that day..if you're not a crappy developer no improvement should still also be ok..
I love mostly adjustable schedule, so there's no biggie of I have a day or two of coders block & can't produce much of value..I can switch tasks & do some simple ones on those days..or just refactor.. all's good..
I love solving puzzles, every bug is a new puzzle I can play with..
So basically, I love being a dev, because it's like being back in school, but only with the subjects you like! -
#non-IT
I proposed to my best friend like last month. Until now she gives no answer.
I love her so much that it sickens me now. Silences are killing me.12 -
My relationship with Gradle is like a couple who are only together for the kids. Some days are hell and some days are okay, but rest assured there is no love there.1
-
Better ideas:
I love building stuff and when i have something that I'm really into, it's hard to concentrate on the boring stuff i need to finish first.
Sometimes i just need to do what i feel like doing, doesn't matter. No, i won't go to bed, no i can't do the other stuff, i need to do that!1 -
Ok I love JavaScript but this is enough.
I know selectors like these shouldn't exist, but double escaping? Hell no! I didn't even know it was a thing! I wonder what's the highest level of n escaping there is out there.6 -
My motivation is like the sinus function lately..
There are periods when I love working and can't wait to work more, followed by internal crysis and no will to even touch my responsibilities.1 -
The most fun I've ever had coding was creating a hidden object game in school (with Flash/ActionScript3). I even had a dude do voiceovers, it was dope! I would love to learn more gaming development but no time. :(
-
Decentralized, block chain based Bitcoin Trading Software!
I just love it!
No for real now, I'm very excited about WebAssembly and the benefits of it! Can't wait to see games running on it!2 -
I just love getting asked about tasks that I had no idea that even existed because no one told me.1
-
Big shout out to devRant community. I appreciate that everyone is so cool on here. We all get to appreciate each other's plights and mistakes.

god, I just reported a post accidentally while trying to mute it... no prompt or anything
this app/site sure needs some love... should I do an open source version, but somehow still monetized in an ethical manner?8 -
Just a safety pin:
If you ever, ever find my real name and go through my rants, then you should know
no pun intended
I love my job
I love my workplace
and above all2 -
In no particular order
• Create a variety of things
• The idea of contributing to projects/games/whatever and being apart of a overall large community.
• Solving problems/Automation
There’s just so much I love about programming it’s so hard to narrow it down to 3 things -
TL;DR Asus is a scumbag company when it comes to software.
I love Asus, they make awesome hardware but man do they blow ass when it comes to software and their customer support. They had perfectly working Link To MyAsus app (on Windows and Android) but no no no, we have to release updates and break this shit. Now I cannot use my phone as a webcam.
Fuck this shit.5 -
This was an email sent to me using my name as a greeting. This had to be a mass email that no one proofread.
I love how the list everything general JS skillset using odd verbage and then throw C# at the end.
What should I respond with?
I am feeling snarky today.7 -
Ever since i graduated from college my mental state has drastically improved. I am no longer suicidal and i have will to live. Although my life is still pathetic and unsuccessful at least now i have the freedom to do what i love -- which is to fucking code and not study bullshit trash subjects4
-
I don’t know if someone is following me. Well at least if you’re drunk and behave common you can expect the same treatment no matter what country you’re about to stop by. I hope if we start be polite the same way across the continent we can get the same understanding of our problems. Peace ✌🏽and love ❤️1
-
Don't you just love how dR's avatars are all nice and fit? Making us think no developers are overweight thanks to sitting down all the fucking day?1
-
I'm in love with Webpack but jeeeeeesus when it breaks in obscure ways maaaaan
Like, I got it working earlier, no errors, everything looks great... aaaaand website is blank. No page, no source, not even anything in the console, just blank. Over an hour later... turns out removing the output target fixes it. Why? No idea. Nothing.2 -
I just love it when the debugger integration into the IDE breaks for no good reason.
I also love that the github issue about it was closed for inactivity. Because problems magically disappear if no one screams "same issue here" for long enough.
Fuck you too19 -
I see people posting their laptops with stickers all the time here. So I thought I'd share mine.
No love for the rebel scum who supports Flaggy flag.2 -
I love Mikrotik. Just fucking love them. I also love my residential fiber service. Small company. Synchronous 125M service. No caps. Bandwidth is always there.
BUT... They use PPPOE (seriously guys?), and the IP changes on *every single re-connect*. Also: no IPv6 support. I know. I don't need it. But I want it.
Enter DNSMadeEasy's DDNS, Hurricane Electric's 6to4 tunnel service, and my Routerboard AH100x4. I wrote a script that runs on the router whenever my IP changes. It updates my DDNS record, updates my 6to4 tunnel IP using HE's API, and updates my local 6to4 interface's IP.
It just works. My public IPv4 may change, but the /48 IPv6 networks on my LAN side stay fully routeable.4 -

I'm convinced, I love my wife's brand new Tesla Model X P90D.. 5411 lbs blowing 0-60 in 3.17 seconds.. it's f*cking ludicrous.. no more petrol cars for me from now on!1 -
SO . . . my laptop just decided to no longer be a computer. And while I love boxes that have stickers on them and offer nothing else in terms of functionality, I should probably be able to code. And watch cat videos on YouTube. So . . . anyone ever bought a refurbished computer on Groupon?6
-
Idk about you but when I get half a dozen opvotes from a single account and it seems to be a female, I fall in love a little bit.
Now, if I could just spare time for an actual relationship...7 -
As much as I love CodeIgniter, it is really showing its age (I know v4 is in progress). Most of the extensions and libraries are really old (4,5 years of no activity on GitHub) or abandoned, feeling like one is visiting 2008, it makes me sad.
-
Not a rant but I love the fact we can say there is a run away unicorn in staff slack and no one is bats an eye or it looks like there is a lot of orphaned processes lets investigate and murder all the orphanes2
-
Oh no, yeah, little error icons with no accompanying error messages are my absolute favorite, especially when there's no apparent way to check what the error is.
Love software that does this. Perfect design, super useful./s2 -
Video game. Nothing but a final boss fight right from the start. Boss has infinite health. There is no time limit. If you die in the game, you die in real life.
That's what it's like to live with bipolar disorder.
For the love of god PLEASE keep yourself away from emotional stress and trauma. -
When I first got Linux, then fell in love with diving through the system on the command line. Then I also realised I finally had the confidence to learn what I wanted, instead of what was advised to me.
Still in no way confident with programming, but I'm getting there. -
Post a rant and apologize cause he's using windows. What the heck is wrong with people here ? This trend is so annoying. Stop it you sheeps you have no reasons to love or hate any OS just following others to look cool. It's not cool unless you're in middle school. And those same guys mock apple fan boys the truth is you're no different. "Yours is shit coz mine iz z best".4
-
Yes, i do overtime. But not to get extra pay. I do overtime to finish projects early so i can get enough time on weekend to spend it with my loved ones.
No sudo code help you feel better if you are sick. Spend time with one you love and care about. -
Love it when there's only one SO question relating to the problem you have, there is no answer, a couple comments, and the person asking updates it saying he figured it out, WITHOUT GIVING ANY INDICATION AS TO WHAT THE SOLUTION IS.
Fucking hell, doesn't happen often, but when it does... 👿 -
I need Christmas break so much... Full on sweets from home (my mother sent me a 7kg package), programming whatever I want with no one to tell me what to do and some quality time with the love ones and myself. Fuck work, we should have Christmas breaks every 2 months at least
-
Don't ya just love it when someone you work with is constantly asking you to do stuff. Even though you literally ask nothing of them. Can't say no though because then they throw a gigantic 11 year old temper tantrum..1
-
I love being a part of a dev project as a non-dev employee, but I really wish I could leave VBA.
If for no other reason, because I'm tired of writing functions that end with "Me.Cells(Row, Column).Value" practically in my sleep.
There are a lot of other reasons, though...1 -
Im sad my fellow programmers, hit me with you love stories, good or bad. Everything will do...
I know this has nothing to do with programming pls no report....11 -
So I decided to pick up go, I must say I am very impressed.
As a Java developer I have always felt a certain chaos in C development (no established infrastucture of project conventions) but I am starting to fall in love with Go.
Is there anyone out here who has professional (or advanced) experience with the language? I would love to learn more in-deth stuff like proper conventions and patterns.2 -
You Give Rest a Bad Name!!

A parody of 'You Give Love a Bad Name' - about hypermedia APIs. No, really.

Don’t you just love a senior devs that starts screaming at you if you ask a for an explanation more than once? Aaaaaaaaand there’s no documentation 😐
-
What's your favorite vps hoster?
I'm currently using scaleway and love it, but recently learned that they offer no protection against data loss.
So I'm looking for an alternative for a project in production that has automatic backups as well as unmetered bandwidth.7 -
I love this documentation about System. nanoTime()
Differences in successive calls that span greater than approximately 292 years (2^63 nanoseconds) will not correctly compute elapsed time due to numerical overflow.
Can I confidently say that no service will ever break this limit?5 -
I hate Windows and I hate Dell.
Apple fucking extorts you but at least it fucking works. macOS works, great UI, unix-like, NO FUCKING INTRUSIVE UPDATES
Did your mac break? We'll replaced, no problem.
Fuck, some company should try to be serious competition to Apple. I'd love to see that day, but untill them I unfortunately have to come back to apple, again and again. Fucking shit.16 -
I love how devrant spreads at the office. See, no one wants to tell anyone about you since everyone wants to claim your rants as their own. But those who know, recognize the gifs as they spread across whiteboards, doors and channels nodding to each other with a secret smile.2

Hello everybody. Are there any open source contributors around here? I have never contributed to an open source project but I would really love to get myself involved in this.
I have no ideea on how to get started though, any advice?
P.S.: My main programming language is PHP and I use Silex/Symfony for developing apps.4 -
Recently took over a freelance project to update an existing app, and this thing is full of comments like "TODO: Remove This" with no context. So hard to work with.
For the love of God, add some context to your comments. Especially if someone else is going to be seeing your code. -
FMF! .NET Core's F# REPL depends on a bug. For two years the testing and building issue referenced as a reason for depending on the bug has not been resolved. Since 2016, no one has been assigned to fix the bug though the producer of the bug hates himself. Only the self-hating deserve love2
-
After inputting all of the defect info into the bug tracking tool, QA writes a quick summary of their findings and goes home.
Love explaining to mgmt why developers could not fix bugs because they had no access to the bug tracking software.
1 day.... X number of bugs... 0 progress -
No boss, I love receiving a brief from you, doing the work exactly as asked, and then having to go through it again with you over the phone while you decide x, y and z needs changing.

if someone doesn't wanna love you, they will not, no matter what you do.
i love this girl so much for last 8 years . but back then she said she has no feelings nd today too she has no feelings. she fell for different guys but not me.
i am a good natured, progressive , growing person. i focused on my career goals than making a funny, alpha-dude personality and today i earn decent nd achieved a good number of things. i am earning more than her family's total income, i love her and am willing to give her my everything nd yet... no feelings.
she told one of our common friends that our vibe doesn't match. i don't know what that means. i am just devastated to feel so much for someone 💔44 -
I finally got a nice Ubuntu setup working and running. No wrappers or drivers for my existing wifi dongle but a new one on the way. And Cities Skylines has Linux support so I'm happy. I love it Cheers guys xo1

WHY THE FUCK EVERY DAY YOU SEND A NOTE TO THE CLIENT TO TELL THEM A SQL SERVER JOB RAN.....!?!?!?!?!?!?
Seriously....no automatic messaging....FROM THE FUCKING IN BUILT SERVICE...the fuck is this manual life that people love to promote. -
I was missing Korea either way. Kims sister tries something cute I would love to go back in.
As an officer tho, y'all ain't getting no Specialist.5 -
Fastboot I LOVE U!!!!
Somehow entered into a boot loop after enabling a EdXposed module.
LineageOS recovery sucks, has no terminal so can't disable magisk modules... only can mount system, not data....
So dumped LineageOS's payload.bin and flashed the clean boot.img11 -
Love pattern matching, esp. in function clauses. No programming language can be considered feature rich without it. Yes, I'm looking at you, <mainstream programming language>1
-
I love Azure. But WHY do I need to add vCores SQL for more logs/io ?
Why is it even limited ?
So no, I won't add 350$/month for 1 more vCore just for some more Mbits of log io bandwich6 -
When you’re so sleep deprived from days with no sleep and you’re writing only a few lines every 30 minutes after overlooking linters and fixing syntax errors, but you need to get the work done **lid-pop**… Hate it but love it..2

While as an intern, colleagues at the startup are giving me no reason to rant (yet) but still I frequent this place because I love it here! Thanks for the stickers, they're simply awesome.
PS: Loved the cartoon, looking forward to the next one. 😁1 -
Thought about startup.. Strange but literally saying no single coin had in my pocket.. Still have love for startup.. But u know what no project no idea no team.. Still struggling for startup.. Fortunately few days back got proposal of govt project.. One min game literally coin replaced his face.. But after some days grant procedure issue pending sucks.. Still have love for startup.. Suddenly got a thought can I do it after grant but I know I have devRant support.. So still continue to love for startup ;-)
Just few days are remaining and waiting for it.. -
trying to analyze and debug code from a wordpress plugin -> fml!
i should just dump this shit and make my own. oh, no time and budget, no problem, i love to spend hours reading someones code and beeing inefficient as fuck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(i suggested to do it on our own a few weeks ago, now i should fix it till end of the day)2 -
I love that Travis-CI lets you change all the on site fonts to comic sans, but no dark theme. Maybe if I paid them...
-
I want to be more tech savvy. I love programming, am fluent in Java and have no problem in pickung up new languages from time to time. But I’m really not a tech person. I always feel like I lose my grip on things when it comes to servers, web stuff and databases.2
-
My first project was a pacman game made with AS1 in flash 6, I learned a lot and it made me appreciate debuggers, proper programming languages and to love making games, however that game was unbeatable thanks to ghosts having the same speed as pacman and using path finding algorithm with no error margin so they always catch you!1
-
Why I love to code?
1. The only thing I feel like I have control over (thanks to control loops XD).
2. Feeling like god when my code works.
3. I just love it, no reason needed, just pure love for it.1 -
I WANTED LINUX BUT IT DIDN'T WANT ME NOW I'M ALONE AND IT FRICKNNN SUXXXXXXXXX PLS LORD NO NO NO NO NO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH peace and love3

Phew, long time no see, devRant!
That Uni really squished life out of me. Damn. But awesome damn.
Still love ya tho, just want you to know that. You're awesome, really:)1 -
I love you sooo much Microsoft! Your goddamn Office download page won't stop re-loading. For fucks sake, get your shit together.
Someone messed with something they shouldn't, but I have no idea what it could be.
And no, I'll not try open it on IE.3 -
I love it when you are initiated into a new project within 30 minutes which must be finished in 2 weeks and you have no idea of anything! In addition, there are customers who have further problems wich must also be solved immediately!
My co-workers are all already in the holidays and enjoy the sun!
I love my work...1 -
Working with windows and android studio makes you sitting crying in firnt of you laptop, repeatedly singing "i hate you i love you"
And obviously if you are googling what makes android studio so slow( not while gradle crap builds!) some people also write that android studio has no problem on linux. Fuck7 -
So does devrant save all your rants?
Apparently I'm super narcissistic and enjoy reading my old rants and the responses to them. A lot. And I'm browsing through, clicking, reading all the old comments (you guys are really great, I love reading your comments) and I realize at the bottom of the list of my rants theres no pagination, no infinite scroll. It just ends at the bottom.1 -
She's so beautiful dude. If I could, I'd frikkin marry her in no time. Oh my God and she has all the right parts and cosmetics! I love you Arch Linux <3

So I love this episode of sweet tooth when giraffes show up in the grasslands near wyoming where it reaches ridiculously low temperatures and there are no trees compared to east africa where the lowest temperature is in the 60s14
-
There were no tools that would of been a great help during my college courses. So I decided to make my own. After a long time of hammering Google and watching YouTube videos it clicked, I fell in love with programming and I built the tools to make my life easier.
-
I love development. Now my job does not allow me to do it anymore. I need a new job. Unfortunately there is no other job where I live. Someone looking for a mobile developer / c #? Italy or Europe. 😥1
-
Seems like there's no perfect balance at work, good at what you're doing? Take that promotion, also now you handle this and that!
Mediocre little shit? uhhh we won't promote him/her but whatever they do something at least.
Man I love my job and my company but fucking hell it seems like people never stop demanding shit from you and when you tell them no they judge you and call you names, like seriously wtf? is there no fucking thing called balance?4 -
I have a Lenono X200, and it is with no doubt the best laptop I've ever had, at least in terms of quality/price. It runs like a charm, and I paid 85€ for It. I love It! 🙂1

Oh man! M in love with one girl! I am in final year of engineering IT and she is in CSE, both have secured good placement, botha are from same community, first i thought she liked me, but when i asked her out to come with me..for a party of my placement, she says no !! :( . Why? Coz her classmates tease her with the name of boys she talks too and she doesn't like that :( ! I am really into her 😿 why do i get friendzoned :(. I really thought she might be into me aswell. I am sad. Love hurts 💔, family love❤2

Started a new freelance contract.
Invited and joined slack channel.
Introduced to the PM.
PM hates me from the first second for no reason.
Doubts anything I say, he has doubt in me.
Something tells me I won't love that arogant PM too 😆 -
I frikin' love updating Gitlab, every time I do, I feel a sense of dread that some part of the process breaks and I will have to dive head first into the huge thing, with almost no knowledge of how the internals work!

our office software has the shittiest documentation. no problem! i love to browse all the subfolders to find where to place a serial letter template! why would someone want to do this in the first place?
if someone working in the german medical field: i can not recommend eva/viva for some other reasons as well. -
The fact python is mainstream and attracts most juniors with just high salary expectations doesn't means that python is that bad.
Im not in love with python, but ruby is much worse in all the weak points of py and no one cares.
Fuck ruby and it's eval culture xs11 -
So glad I decided to use Spring Boot... Love it's bean configuration for dependency injections... Also love the RowMapper interface that's used with the JdbcTemplate. No more redundant Exception handling over and over again and I can still get close to the metal with writing my own queries. DOPE.
-
don't you just love it when you have to fix a system that consists on unnecessary junk code, horrible/lack of indentation, no documentation and the clients says "I don't know what happened fix it and I'll post you good"
I mean, I live for this shit man! -

Any code i write in Android studio.
That piece of shit would just go take a nap in the middle of my coding . I can no longer get response from mouse or buttons
Its bloody painful. I love it4 -
Just love my team and my team mates. Never had such a good team synergy before. Everybody puts in their best and gives the proper credits. No micromanagement. And if you keep delivering and have a good reason for not delivering, everything goes smoothly.
The only issue is that I want to be paid more 😂1 -
Gotta love the Phone guys. Mislabeled their Drops 😩. Had a follow up ticket for junction box replacement. A 2 min jobs took an extra 20 mins all due to phone guys putting the incorrect connector on their wires. Why put a Data Connector on a Phone wire. No wonder the printer wasn't getting the correct IP🤷♂️🤦♂️3

Recently I am on my exams and I need to study well, On the other hand , all of the things I am studying has no link to my dream job !! So why should I study it and not to choose what to study .. Even though, I don’t really care and I keep on programming because it’s what I love ..💕🚶🏻♀️, no worries, I still study too.. I like studying and learning new information but I hate tests and exams,,🙆🏻♀️💔11

Hell yeah, I love that feeling! I have absolutely no idea about working with the LEMP stack (nginx in particular) and I'm slowly figuring out how to get it working. Even tho I just noticed that chrome doesn't support npn for http/2 and that I am still up (GMT+1) I wanna continue working in this project. Man, I love that feeling <31 -

Been doing webdev for 2 years straight and I need a change of pace so in my free time I wanna do a project with either Java, c# or c++.
No experience with either of them and I have no idea what I could do as a project.
Do you experienced de s have any suggestions?
(looking for a somewhat expandable project as my skills become better so I can keep building it)
Would love to hear some ideas!8 -
Don't know why but I just love laptop keyboard. Not specific to what type of keyboard, just the fact it is a keyboard on my laptop... No wonder my neck pain is getting worse everyday :(

Who needs devrant when we have shit games like Watchdogs 2 to take out our frustrating experiences? I have no idea what the story is any more. Just senseless death because I suck at driving motorcycles through shops and I love virtual coffee. #seemslegit1

Why do people (mostly clients) love to pay using paypal? Don't they know it's not a bank and there's really no fraud protection.
I know I'm enabling it by offering PayPal as a payment option...3 -
The thing I love about Python is that it has no fricking pointers!!!
I hate pointers and getting a language that doesn't use them
win-win for me!11 -
People love to talk crap about MongoDB but it's not horrible for getting in to NoSql databases. Is it good for extremely important production apps? No, but nobody is saying it is.

What's the worst part about testing React components? Using the equivalent of fucking stone tools to do your component integration tests! We got errors with no context and errors with no stack trace, just spewing out bullshit! A sample:
The classic "Can't access .root on unmounted test renderer"
The unforgettable and ALWAYS visible "Warning: An update to YourShittyComponent inside a test was not wrapped in act(...)."
We do love it! -

If you use brackets, I wrote an extension that lets you hop outside of auto-completed (), [ ], and {}. it's called TabEx and I'd love your feedback!
Install via Extension Manager or view on GitHub: /paritho/tabex -
Have a hackathon starting in 12 hours and have no ideas rn. Kinda freaking out, so would love it if you guys could help me out with some ideas! My team includes 3 computer science juniors, and we've worked with Java, Python and frontend and backend web dev frameworks.

One thing I love about AWS.Chime meetings, is that they call you when the meeting starts. You can answer from your laptop, phone, or tablet. No fumbling for my calendar.

I love how they go out of the way to allow the same photos of them to be taken. of course unless they're followed on successive runs there is no way of ensuring their capture is there which is what makes this system of theirs almost make sense if not for allowing more of their kind to be bred

confession: before today i had no idea what rust was. i read a wikipedia article and i'm still not sure, but i think i'm obligated to love it

Well sending emails to get sponsors and project for my 2 month long open-source hackathon is tiring and often end up with no reply :(
If anyone has a cool Opensource project we would love to have it here for students to learn opensource https://devscript.tech/woc/
It's a student-led hackathon without funds so would love some sponsors too.4
