Something that has probably stuck with me the most and has changed how I think about things:

When I'm tired, I can't do a damned thing. If it takes effort or concentration, I'm useless. Games are just frustrating. If it's something enjoyable, I simply can't care enough to enjoy it. If I read a book, I can't focus on the words, and won't remember anything I read. If its mindless like watching Netflix, I won't remember the next day, or rather I'll remember just enough to ruin it for myself.

So why not sleep?

Because I've been feeling like this every day, all day long for months. No, that vile liquid called coffee doesn't help. If I rest my eyes and stop thinking for a few minutes, I wake up a little and can function normally for a minute or two before passing out again. I'm not depressed, or at least I don't think I am. I feel like my brain died or got replaced with a lizard's.

And this sucks because I'm still during the probation period at work, and learning the sprawling and intricate codebase is actually challenging. And they're giving me large tickets because I was a dummy and impressed them too much.

Idk what's wrong with me, but I hope it stops soon.
I miss being able to think and plan and do anything besides just struggle to stay awake. 😞

Just found out why people don't use windows. It's because they think it does not work.

In my school we have apple TV's in every room and we use airplay to cast to the projector. And because apple are fucktards and hate cross platform anything they make it impossible for windows machines to connects reliabily. So now if a teacher has a windows computer they can't connect so they think it's windows fault but it is actually fucking apple. This is what pisses me off about apple so much.

Starting to learn Unreal, I have two choices. C++ or Blueprints. While some argue that Blueprints can't achieve and replace C++ in Unreal, I saw others ignoring the fact and making awesome stuff you didn't think was possible. I saw how powerful even this node-based programming environment is and started learning it. What do you think?

I can't think of a most harmful one, just mediocrity cultivating unknowingly mediocre devs.

Worst dev tech I have used must be Visual Studio in a virtual Windows machine.

I just seem to be having these days every second day or so, I mean I've been programming since I was 11 and I'm just about to turn 21... I've essentially stuck with game development in the same engine in the same language and to this day have nothing to show for the past 10 years other than a million half assed prototypes that seem to just rehash idea's already done by other but a million times better...

Tried learning other languages and none have stuck, I can't grasp C++, don't have a fucking clue how to use Vala and can't even think of anything to make with said languages...

Tried making a pushbullet front end in Vala and can't even learn how to use the fucking API's so once again, that project has been put on the shelf with everything else.

It all just drags me down and makes me think if all the trouble is worth the pain and annoyance.

Personally think they are a great platform and could definitely see them replacing lots of current applications but feel like the web technologies can't catch up to some of the major requirements for higher level apps like game engines or games...

Every time I appy for an IT job I can't stop to think about the time I accidentally wrote my root password to a discord group chat instead of the terminal window next to it.

I can't imagine programming before web browsers had tabs. I don't think I could live in such a dark, twisted, masochistic world.

I suffer with anxiety.
I took pills (pristiq), but side effects almost ended with my marriage.
And now I'm having more problems. Even a message from my boss trigger me and I can't think properly.

How do you deal with anxiety?

I think I might actually have an addiction to code :S. I can't go a day without writing something just get a feeling niggling at me to write even if I don't know what to. I just opened a terminal on the nearest computer to write 'ls' and had such a relieving feeling, this can't be healthy.

One of the things I like are - website redesigns. To look back at one's old work and think, I can't believe I thought it was a good idea to release such. Shows progress.

i think i just hit my limit after 5 years of no breaks or time off between finishing my studies and working 2 jobs sleep deprivation these last couple of weeks I'm barely able to work can't wake up either I've been sleeping 4-5 hours for a while. now i can truly say Fuck My Life.

Most probably the short time pressure and the mindset of "in these x hours/days, I can't do/think/be interested in anything else but the hackathon". It feels like it significantly disrupts my daily flow

How do you deal with low motivation and procrastination caused by burnouts? I've worked on a project almost non-stop for 3 weeks, now I can't think of touching a computer nor going to the gym. All I do is sleeping.

Not directly related but also I have uni entrance exam in the next June but I didn't start studying yet, despite the fact that how much this projects kills me, I can't convince myself to get on that desk and open some books. I've never been in love with school or even things slightly related to school. I know how much I need a CompSci degree but I just can't get my mind straight and do what I need to do for achieving what I want.

That moment when your brain can't think of new variable names

I can't sign in to my wifi router on my phone because of a stupid JS bug. When you tap on the password box it uses JS to check if the username field is blank. If it is, it auto focuses on that instead. The problem is that it doesn't it think the username field has any content even when it does. So I can't enter my password! I tried blocking JS, then it doesn't render anything. It has no accessibility at all. Thanks a lot TP-Link.
