There literally wasn't a single person there. Everyone shows up at the normal fucking time and good old boss was 2 fucking hours late.

Guess what the presentation was for? To solve the fucking issue of why stuff never gets done on time and nothing works right. I think I might have a tiny fucking idea why, at this point.

Unfortunately earlier tonight some code was deployed with functionality only compatible with the new version of the devRant app that will be coming out early this week. It caused some weird issues where normal rants would be rendered as collabs causing them to not show up correctly.

This happened when going to rants from the feed (fixed earlier) and going to rants from push notifications (fixed a little while ago).

If you notice any of that behavior still occurring please let me know, thanks!

Not only coding, but studying Computer Science has changed a lot in my life. For example, learning about CPU scheduling algorithms made me manage time for my personal tasks a lot better. Earlier I used to waste a lot of time by doing tasks in out of sync order. Also coding made me realize how dumb most people are!

Why is this necessary?? There has been virtually no progress on any of the topics discussed. At least nothing that concerns us devs.

Needed to update one column in table A with data from table B (huge table).

Created awesome update query with join between the two tables.

A few hours later realized all data in table A is already being imported from table B in a query executed earlier in the process...

I personally don’t mind the wave of “back to the office” as long as transports costs are added to my income and I can start 1h30 later and leave 1h30 earlier.

I regret not finishing all the personal projects I started. Then I would have had at least something I could have put on my CV and gotten a job earlier than at 23.

Earlier today I spend 3 hours that included a nap and cleaning the house to try to clear my head and figure out why my Unity multiplayer code wasn't translating properly to local. Turns out a certain function has no problem existing in update in multiplayer but wants to be in fixedupdate in local... Productive day.

So I may have been preemptive with my earlier rant, I didn't realise Ubuntu ships with PHP7... Oops

Boss comes, asks that I make a function in the site. Tell him it's impossible / forbidden, he says okay and goes back. Comes back a week later, asks for the exact same function he asked earlier.

You know that feel where you're looking for a solution and don't find one. And go down this rabbit hole of self loathing? And everything is sad and depressing. You can't think straight. You feel like an idiot. You kinda don't know/ forget things you knew a couple days earlier.

Today, i finally got my desired job as Android developer in a startup, earlier i was working as a php developer to pay my bills. I told my pm about me quitting this week and man he congrts me from getting out this shitty job.
Now m just waiting for my salary before i quit.

I started using vscode for flutter yesterday and it’s so smooth! Android studio used to make my Mac so slow! Why didn’t I do this earlier!

Finished our first phase of the project about a month earlier. We entered the second phase and the project manager is shouting to do it as quickly as possible.

Sometimes I think I should have watched TV series in the meantime rather than finishing the task early.

Like, I got it working earlier, no errors, everything looks great... aaaaand website is blank. No page, no source, not even anything in the console, just blank. Over an hour later... turns out removing the output target fixes it. Why? No idea. Nothing.

Once I really messed up with git. Lots of conflicts, strange branching, HEAD in detached state etc. Just cloned an earlier version of the repo into a separate folder, hand transferred all the changes I needed to keep and force merged into master as if nothing ever happened.

I regret not learning c++ earlier. I learned Java before and now I have to work with mainly c++ for its libs and it took some time to adjust also I've never used Java for anything useful so far.

So we had a sprint review earlier. There were like 20 bosses who attended, head of this, head of that. We spent 5 mins to demo our application, and another 55 minutes discussing the "delivery date" 🤯
