An absolute nightmare. My oven doesn't work, Washing machine started rattling, toaster toasted more than it was supposed to toast. Every time windows updates it restarts my TV in my living room.

Writing a ton of documentation so boring and useless that even he didn't care to read through.

Ended my day today standing in my kitchen trying to cool down after having to deploy unfinished work that has not been properly tested because the business forced us to deploy it. So frustrated and angry.

Vape bloggers be telling people that it's impossible to quit vaping salt nicotine but I quit successfully. Here's how it went:
1. I took my addiction to the point when I vaped three cartridges a day (that's a lot). I remembered that feeling and recalled that dizziness and urge to vomit instead of "pleasure" when I wanted to vape again
2. It's hard to quit on your own. Instead of nicorette and other shit that doesn't work (because it's also nicotine), I took Cytisine. It removed that URGE and the only thing left to tackle was a psychological addiction
3. Vaping and smoking in my head was tied to a cool moments that I experienced, like smoking with the boys after a hackaton, etc. I analyzed them and realized that they're cool not because of the fact of smoking, they are cool per se. So smoking was not necessary

In my last days of cytisine therapy I not only forgot that I vaped, I sometimes forgot to take cytisine. That means the therapy was successful. My average running distance already improved from 1.5 to 3 km.

There is a research that quitting consuming nicotine can help cure depression. I'll check on that

I just got a bit into OpenCV and I am completely exited. I built a little ball tracker (Yes I know that the cross is on the other side, it's inverted so the cross is at the same position as the ball in front of the camera) and although it is not the most advanced project I think it's kinda cool.

Was using webstorm and it kept on hanging lately. Just started using Atom, it's so cool. Webstorm has more features but if you want one in atom you can install a pakage, disable/ uninstall if not needed.

I didn't know this when I started my CS education. The dean of CS undergrad said "we are not here to make programmers" and I was so confused, but now I get it. Hey guys, my gf and I want to do something with the Arduino we got. We are getting a CS degree, so programming is not a problem, but we have quite basic knowledge of electronics.

What could be a cool simple (but not too introductory) project we could do?

The arduino came with a bunch of sensors (ultrasonic distance sensor, humidity, ...) some input (joystick, RFID reader/writer, buttons) and some outputs (LCD display, 8x8 LED matrix, bunch of color and RGB leds).

well you don't because UX and PM think it best to look at competitors and implement whatever shit they come up with.

once, someone came up with a cool feature and some basic prototype for it and they ignored it. the competitor thought of it years later and did it. when they did it, suddenly its a priority at our company to do it as well.

sure, why be the first to do the feature. im sure being unique and creative is overrated not like our profit comes from user subscriptions.

About skyRant. I really like what you're doing for establishing it as a third party app with the verify login thing. Technically there is no way for me to verify if the app I'm using is using that source code unless I built it myself, but still nice.

I do feel a bit odd about having additional data such as reactions on the skyRant platform. It's cool and all, but it degrades the experience for anyone not using skyRant. If I like someone's post with a ❤️ there is no guarantee that user will see it. Idk just some random thoughts, but very cool app! :)

The funny thing is that a lot of stuff feels cool when it's not you doing it. Once you've learned it, done it, it becomes mundane, easy, boring, simple.

Is it me or software subscriptions make developers lazy?

There is a great photo editing software: Capture One. Every year they release a new major version, so users need to buy an upgrade. In the past developers packed a bunch of big changes into major update, also they released 3 minor updates yearly, and every minor update brought some cool features. But then they added subscription model which was cheaper then perpetual model. And at the same time major updates became not that cool. Developers started to add enterprise features needed by museums, features involving other camera brands users, changes targeted at newbies and so on. For perpetual model users most of these changes are not worth 80-255 EUR yearly (depends on license type and offs) but is ok for subscription model users because they continue using the software and even small updates and enhancements are fine for them.

Not every major update is that weak but many of them are not worth upgrade. And developers are not motivated to do more cool stuff because subscription model users will continue paying for their subscriptions.

Started doing web with POCO in C++. Could not be as pleased as now. Syntax is cool, framework is cool, GNU Makefiles are cool, aclocal isn't, but... Go to hell automake. I am happy, helping a friend and enjoying what I feel as the chilliest programming language is becoming the way I do web.

It's cool and all, just a few lines of code, but some days ago I tried to do a 2 sides hamburger menu.
Based on that I just copied it and changed every left for right. Worked. Like. A. Charm. I had to apply some z-index stuff of course but nothing out of ordinary.

Winblows is a bloated system with no real package manager, i can't stop their endless updates, it gets viruses so easily, that you have to install an antivirus, and i hate their flat design, and linux is for haX0r kids who wanna look cool, it's just not practical for personal use.
